I made blackberry preserves and put in. I also tried using KA recipe for classic double crust and added a little sugar. I love both versions. I then just grabbed random jars of bought preserves like peach, apple butter and cherry butter. They were just as good. Thank you guys so much
Looks like hand pies. Nummeh goodness. Savory is great, too. Omitting sugar topping of course, lol. Olden days these were lunch for many mine workers and farm hands, filled with usually left over proteins, onion, gravies from last night’s dinner. Pocket food!
I had some mango lime purée to use up, they are delicious. My crust really puffed like crazy, so they look more like pastries than hand pies but that’s ok!
Would’ve been nice to see how the rectangular Dough was scooped-up intact, when put into the Fridge. If I was doing it, it surely would’ve cracked & fallen apart, as crumbly as it was. I don’t have a pizza peel or any device that I think might work.
Hi Deni! After doing the folds, the dough has enough structure that you'll be able to place it on a piece of plastic wrap or slide it onto a baking sheet. We hope this helps! Morgan@KA
How come @5:17 you edited out how you brought that dry loose mess together? I really wanted to see how you’d get it to come together. Then the shot switched to you using lots of flour. Why? It sure looked odd how it became an almost wet Dough when it was so loose just seconds before. Was there some water added?

Yep! That is what I just kinda wrote before reading your comment too . How in the heck did he get it into the Fridge without the pastry falling apart. You’ve got a good eye …😉
So happy to see Arlo again! Thx for the handpies!❤️❤️👍👍

Mine did too.
Great 😊 video. Thank you.
Use food processor when incorporating cold butter into flour.
Yum! Thank you 😊
Thank you do you chill in freezer or fridge
Usually in the fridge! If you need to chill it just for a little bit and quickly, then popping it in the freezer works well. 😊 -🥐Lily
@@KingArthurBakingCompany thank you
