    I currently have a promo for my clients, since I’m still starting and building my client base. If a client brings me 5 new clients then They get a free set. I’m getting a lot of exposure. But I sure would love to do number 2 as well.

    I do specials all the time for like holidays and I still barely get customers. I had a few for Valentine’s Day and that’s it.
    I wanted to use my cousin as a model and offered a free set (again, I used her before and she still went somewhere else) and she said yes. Her baby got sick so she postponed it. Haven’t heard from her since December.
    I think another key to making money in nails is relocation. These people around here are so plain and basic and cheap.
    My quality of work is up there with the best of them plus I’m an artist, but people come to me and they pick the most plain and boring sets. When I do specials, I offer everything except French tips and almond and stiletto shaped nails. Those take time so I may charge a little extra. I offer short to XL in ANY design they want for a REAL discounted price (it’s almost humiliating) and I still don’t get clients.
    I’m a substitute teacher so I go to the high schools to promote thinking that teenage girls would want fancy nails, and it’s still a no. They don’t want to pay the price. I thought they’d have jobs (there’s so many available) but these kids today barely work.
    The only thing I see to do is move to another state.
    Move to where people appreciate quality nails and don’t mind paying the price, whatever it may be.

      How is it going so far

    • @thebuttermilkgirlisback

      @@silviauzie4958 other than one client coming back (somewhat) regularly, it’s unfortunately still the same. Honestly, I don’t know many private nail techs in my area that are really thriving like that.
      As of right now, I’m offering an August special for $45 and a back to school for $50-60. No one has reached out to book yet.
      Im just saving up to move to another state because this is just ridiculous. Although I do understand that with what’s happening in the world right now, people have other priorities even though I see other nail techs still getting regular clients and charging their price.
      Some girl discussed on Tik Tok that she charged someone $900+ for extendo length and $25 per kawaii nail charm. So people still spend money, just not in my area I guess. Because I have to admit, I’m getting better and my time is getting a little faster.

      @@thebuttermilkgirlisback building clientele is not easy tho , do you do your own nails often ?

    • @thebuttermilkgirlisback
      @thebuttermilkgirlisback 2 роки тому +1

      @@silviauzie4958 absolutely yes!!!! I do my nails every week as advertisement. People are impressed by them and I give them my business card, and they still go somewhere else. This happened at my other job.
      Family won’t even support.
      I offered to do my (twin) nieces nails for free as a gift for their 8th grade graduation, and the day of their appointment, my sister tells me they’d rather go to this festival than come and get their nails done. I was disappointed in them, still am, but I was more upset with my sister because she should teach them that if someone is doing something for you out of the kindness of their heart (and I wanted to use them as models, I’m still trying to build a business) then they should honor that and come through. They were supposed to be there by 8am I believe (their request) and I called and they were still in the bed. Then she pushed it back to 10 and I’m sitting there waiting all morning, then around 12 she tells me they’re not coming. I have to deal with inconsideration from my family, too!
      And a lot of clients I did get were into doing nails, too. So it’s like they were coming to me to steal tips or something or do things to frustrate me or TRY to break my spirit. The nail game is vicious!
      Sorry I’m venting but I have to get this off my chest.
      The underlying issues are that people are just jealous. I don’t know why, but they are.
      It’s just time to relocate. This state (New Jersey) is so dull! No pizzazz at all anymore. It’s a fall of an empire.

    Using popular people to promote was something that club promoters did years ago. If you were trying to draw attention give the most popular person free admission and discount drinks. Your who club could be packed in no time.

    What sorts of looks would you use for a "special?" I'm thinking that obviously a dimensional nail is not going to be a look special. What about smile line cuts, glitter press, ombre, etc.?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  2 роки тому

      It can be anything you want. If you are running the special and maybe there is a type of design you like doing but don't get to do it often that can be your special. Or maybe it's a popular trend you have been seeing to get more clients in.

    I have learned so much from your videos. I have become very successful. But I would like some advice. For some, this is a simple cut and dry question. However, I want to continue with a good reputation. I worked so hard to become busy. But have realized I can't handle the load physically or mentally due to a chronic illness. I just honestly need a long break. Would you please share advice or make a video pertaining to that? Thank you again for all you do and helping us to grow to be as successful as we want to be.

      Hi Christina! Totally understand were you are coming from. Tracey recommends being honest with your clientele but don't ask permission. Let them know you are cutting back for some more self care but you will recommend some amazing techs they can go to. This is a great video idea.
