I always wondered, which turns my life has taken, to get me into drum and bass as an adult. Seeing (not only) this made me realize, that I listened to this subconsciously as a child. No wonder I love DnB these days. Even though I never acitvely chose to listen to that kind of music when I was younger.
I feel exactly the same. Not only about DnB, but electronic music in general... Trance, techno, house... These videogames were such a huge influence. This one rips! Even better than N64. Probably because so many more artist wanted to explore the CD technology the games had on the PS. These tracks hold up so well and it’s crazy to see how much care and dedication the music designers had making these. Very deep game selection too mad props. Thanks for the time you took making these.
I rememeber being a kid and loving video game music like this. Fast forward 15-20 years after learning what jungle and drum and base is, and now its completely blowing my mind how all this amazing music was with me all this time.
Yea, I keep listening to this and I love it more and more each time. This has been jungle month for me. Listen to good music all the time! It's good for you! Keep it on all the time!
This is probably the best mix I've ever heard in my life, thank you so much, this is so good, nostalgic, I was 11years old when PS1 came out, glory days
@@vo7tage All of this originated im talking music wise from the Black community. Rock n Roll Hip hop jazz blues gospel house techno Dj'ing breakbeats country rnb And most important SOUL are came from and originated from the Black American Man tho. but credit to the Japanese and to the westerners for creating these amazing video games and technologies.
Have come back to this particular mix so many times now... Seems only right to say - THANK YOU, RYLAND! Dudes not only collected a sick compilation of tracks, he actually mixed them! And thoughtfully too, this is by far my favourite "PlayStation jungle" mix - it's not even a competition imo
Oh my goodness, this mix is so MASTERFULLY done! I rarely ever comment on videos but this mix not only induces extreme nostalgia, but it makes me feel like a little kid discovering something life-changing for the first time. Thank you so much for this, best wishes to you my friend. +1 sub.
Music like this actually hurts me as i have a nostalgic overload problem. i keep thinking about all the people i loved back in the 90s and early 2000s that have passed away and wont be able to enjoy the future with me. its so hard. no matter how much we try the good days are gone. yes we can create new memories but come on lets be real. Nothing is ever gonna top the 90s-early 2000s.
Got to add to the chorus of people in the comments: as a "retired" DJ who fixates on this shit this mix is so flawlessly blended , structured and executed. Peaks, valleys, ITS SO GOOD. The nostalgic selections from golden era games just makes this one of the best mixdowns on this entire site.
Look up intelligent dum and bass or atmospheric jungle mixes. Or explore some of the stuff released on good looking records back in the 90s early 00s, theres loaaads of this music to explore.
My favorites 31:08 how do you think (planet dob) 1:55:41 some kinds of love (planet dob) 2:01:40 dark ruins (ape escape) 2:14:38 secret life (rollcage stage 2) 2:41:03 flo jack (dance dance revolution 2ndremix append club version vol 1)
It's amazing how much DnB/Jungle was on PSX. I knew it too back then, but there's so much more. There were some songs from a weird game called Gekitotsu Larc En Ciel (from the J-Rock Band Larc En Eiel) I was trying to rip, now it's so easy to rip the songs. But I've also been listening to Jungle since the 90's, though I was in NYC and it was super hard to get tracks here back then. Apparently it was even popular in Japan at the time, too, and it makes for very good video game music. But I never stopped listening, and still do.
I'm here for this exactly. I was expecting low quality remixes of tunes that were done to death by a million other people, but got an eclectic mix of wonderful tracks of tunes from games even I, a diehard VGM enthusiast has never heard of before. Solid aural gold.
Whenever im editing hours of footage, I need something thats lowkey and not distracting to listen to This is the perfect mix for that IMO Ive probably watched this whole video 6 times over in the last 2 days alone
Man the PS1 or PSX was such a huge revolution, many people don't realize how groundbreaking this console was with some awesome games and others being little experiments with 3D, thank god for Ken Kutaragi and your channel for this awesome mix :D

Currently studying for a qualification and man, this mix has been the only thing keeping me focused and locked in, thank you dude. The visuals look so stylish, wish we got this game outside of Japan.
I love how all the tunes flow into each other, it's just one bombastic song after another. Across different games too? You are on talented individual!!
This is literally audio ecstasy mixed with a pure journey through drum and bass. Love the progressive aspect of this mix! Thank you so much! This has been a pleasure! 👌🏿🙏🏿🙌🏿
I usually ignore music mixes on UA-cam, but I am thoroughly digging this. Partly based on my fond memories of the incredible Jungle music that was used through the PS1 era, not to mention the fantastic job you did with the continuous mixing. 🔥🔥🔥
This mix popped out in my recommendations out of nowhere and I'm really fascinated. I knew DnB was something of the old school games but damn... this is another whole level. Even a Barbie game with that music? Who would have thought! Thank you so much for this. By the way... Do you know music similar to Armored Core (PS1) OST? I remember a few tracks have that DnB sound haha, but the style per se is something really different and awesome
THANK YOU FOR INCLUDING SPEED PUNKS! when I was a kid and could only afford a couple of games, that was my most-played for ages. there was a while where my memory card slot on my PlayStation was being finicky, so I couldn't save/load files. I was also only allowed an hour of gaming time per day, so every morning I'd start Speed Punks from scratch, beat every race and unlock Beemer/gold wheel mode, then bask in the glory of the first lap or two of a race before being told to shut things off. Long tangent but as soon as I heard this song in the mix I got so excited! Loving your mixes 🤩
this is a killer mix of tracks, but what's awesome about this is how seamless so many of the transitions are. it's such a cohesive set. great job, dude!
You put a ton of great visual work on top of the already difficult mixing work, I really appreciate the attention to detail. Your mixes are my absolute favorite to put on while I'm doing work. Thank you so much for this.
You don't know how many times this playlist has saved me from college works already. Excelent selection with excelent timing. Congrats for making it, bro!
So dope- and i always wondered why i had an affinity for a genre i didnt know the name of! It was subconsciously programmed into my soul by the cool ass games we used to play lol Thanks for putting it all together RK!

2 and half hour mix from such a large range of games that i have to commend just the effort put into getting all of these tunes into 1 mix alone all of these songs go hard and are also mixed together so seamlessly, seriously super well done man
This kind of music is exactly what gets me into a weird flow state while working, especially when it's dull and dark outside and I'm doing something engaging. (If you like this but want something a bit more intense, I listened to the Serial Experiments Lain CYBERiA Mix all the way through university finals.)
Hi, I know your gonna read this Ryland, Thanks so much for your effort and hard work you did to put all this Drum & Bass mix together, I use to have a PS1 since 1996 and heavily fell in love with Drum & Bass since 1998 listening to it from a local radio station here in Perth and have been into it since then. All those hidden Jungle/ DnB snippets from the PS1 you have managed to save and put it all together... So thankyou for doing this and bringing the bliss!!!
what a beautiful and nostalgic mix you've created..Truly, I thank you for your service. this reminds me of the days where every video game had true passion behind them, devoid of paywalls and were only inspired by making sure they left their mark on whoever played them, never to be forgotten. thank you for allowing me to reminisce through your beautiful track selection

Oh and when i listen to that Raycrisis bass line, goddamn it you took me back man! Sitting at 6AM, its raining outside, playing this on the psx while eating french fries. Good times!
♥️
@@octoglazed3693 yea the Raycrisis track is one of my favs same with Raystorm. Shmups especially from this time always had sick dnd/breaks in the games. It's funny you mention it I was just gonna leave a comment about it.

I’ve never had a Sony console in my life but after listening for just ten minutes I feel like an entire childhood’s worth of PlayStation nostalgia has been uploaded directly to my brain
Getchu a ps5
@@jpesicka492 I'd rather get a PS1 and start from the beginning.
@@i_GiveFRUITS a modded PS2 with FMC and OPL* with this you can play PS1/PS2 games, or just buy a PSP/VITA to play PS1 games.
This one rips! Even better than N64. Probably because so many more artist wanted to explore the CD technology the games had on the PS. These tracks hold up so well and it’s crazy to see how much care and dedication the music designers had making these. Very deep game selection too mad props. Thanks for the time you took making these.
thank you! ❤️
I rememeber being a kid and loving video game music like this. Fast forward 15-20 years after learning what jungle and drum and base is, and now its completely blowing my mind how all this amazing music was with me all this time.
words cannot describe how in love i am with this type of music
this is everything ive ever wanted and then way more than that
Nostalgia hits hard, closing my eyes and diving into the old memories
Never has a video been more aptly tuned to my personal needs, thank you
The universe blessed us with the Playstation in all it's audio goodness.
every time i listen to this i get more obsessed with the tracks and visuals, truly an incredible mix
❤️
Digging super deep here...I thought i'd heard all the jungle+D&B on the playstation and I found a bunch of gems 🙃
Incredible. Japan in the 90s were such a vibe.
Jungle is English my guy...
@@ShredAndPurr you forgot the part where Playstation is a Japanese brand

Have come back to this particular mix so many times now... Seems only right to say - THANK YOU, RYLAND! Dudes not only collected a sick compilation of tracks, he actually mixed them! And thoughtfully too, this is by far my favourite "PlayStation jungle" mix - it's not even a competition imo
thanks, glad you enjoyed it
These transitions from track to track sending me into different realms bruv.
Thank you for this futuristic blast from the past.
if it comes from your mix i already know its gonna be a total banger
❤️
Oh my goodness, this mix is so MASTERFULLY done! I rarely ever comment on videos but this mix not only induces extreme nostalgia, but it makes me feel like a little kid discovering something life-changing for the first time. Thank you so much for this, best wishes to you my friend. +1 sub.
thank you! ❤️
Love the seamless transitions. Sometimes impossible to differentiate when the songs change.
Music like this actually hurts me as i have a nostalgic overload problem.
i keep thinking about all the people i loved back in the 90s and early 2000s that have passed
away and wont be able to enjoy the future with me. its so hard. no matter how much we try the
good days are gone. yes we can create new memories but come on lets be real. Nothing is
ever gonna top the 90s-early 2000s.
Many others have said similar things about other eras. Are they right?
You make the good days My friend, everyday. In twenty years maybe You would think this are the good ones, You can always build good memories 😊
Hey, love your mixes! (N64 and Playstation) Can't get over those smooth transitions!
❤️
Just wow. Words cannot describe what feeling this music gives me. Brilliant choice of tracks
❤️
I absolutely adore music like this, especially Diver's Dream. Wish I could find more music like that.
❤️
Not exactly the same, but the first thing I thought of when hearing diver's dream was ageispolis by aphex twin if you haven't heard it
Try Digimon world 4 OST, Astro boy ps1 OST, Spiral knights OST.
Look up intelligent dum and bass or atmospheric jungle mixes. Or explore some of the stuff released on good looking records back in the 90s early 00s, theres loaaads of this music to explore.
yo I’ve been diggin for a min divers dream is special
So futuristic, yet very early 2000's. I love it.
My favorites

I agree
Solid aural gold.
just paying homage to an incredible era of music in gaming
Refreshing 😩 haven’t listened to the radio in years. Wish people with this type of talent was in the stations.
Whenever im editing hours of footage, I need something thats lowkey and not distracting to listen to
This is the perfect mix for that IMO
Ive probably watched this whole video 6 times over in the last 2 days alone
the mix on this is so clean, the transitions subtly go hard
Man the PS1 or PSX was such a huge revolution, many people don't realize how groundbreaking this console was with some awesome games and others being little experiments with 3D, thank god for Ken Kutaragi and your channel for this awesome mix :D
♥️
This is the kind of DnB I like to hear. Very Ape Escape in tone but also original in it's own way. I like it, keep up the hard work. ♠️🔥
From someone who has never had a ps1... but always wanting one.... this playlist just atleast gives me the experience and enjoyment from it....
Every once in awhile the algorithm gets things just right and introduces me to a BANGER of a playlist. This right here, is it. Absolutely loved listening to this throughout my week and appreciate the work you do putting this together. Working through your N64 one now
Currently studying for a qualification and man, this mix has been the only thing keeping me focused and locked in, thank you dude. The visuals look so stylish, wish we got this game outside of Japan.
You got sick mixes, my dude. I listen to them at work everyday.

Instantly liked. This hits the spot! 😌👌
Both PS1 and Dreamcast have this beautiful music.
I just keep coming back to this video when I'm in the midst of work, I've never been so in the zone before
What kind of music is this, I can't quite put my finger around it. A podcaster called it Xbox PS1 music and this CHANGED MY LIFE. I'm focused as fuck
this mix is helping me power through my math assignments like a god, thanks so much for the dope mix man
❤️
This will be a banger I can feel it in my bones!
absolutely
This is going in my best of mixes. My bike ride commutes to work will be shredding. Thank you.
♥️
I love how all the tunes flow into each other, it's just one bombastic song after another. Across different games too? You are on talented individual!!
Still the greatest playlist of all time. Thanks for doing this.
This is literally audio ecstasy mixed with a pure journey through drum and bass. Love the progressive aspect of this mix! Thank you so much! This has been a pleasure! 👌🏿🙏🏿🙌🏿
❤️
I usually ignore music mixes on UA-cam, but I am thoroughly digging this. Partly based on my fond memories of the incredible Jungle music that was used through the PS1 era, not to mention the fantastic job you did with the continuous mixing. 🔥🔥🔥
♥️
This is one of those things you never knew you needed in life until you hear it.
I keep coming back to this series of mixes. Every episode is a classic. Thank you for your hard work.
Learning Japanase and this just helps me focus so much. Thank you for the mix, keep it up!
I remember a few tracks have that DnB sound haha, but the style per se is something really different and awesome
yes armored core has some incredible rave tunes, i'll share some similar sounding music in upcoming mixes
Probably one of the best mixes I've ever heard on UA-cam, and from such a specific, unique genre. I live for this
Thank you for your hard work on this mix. I love hove you didn't just throw the tracks in there, but also cared to make many transitions seamless
Loving your mixes 🤩
this is a killer mix of tracks, but what's awesome about this is how seamless so many of the transitions are. it's such a cohesive set. great job, dude!
thank you! ♥️
You put a ton of great visual work on top of the already difficult mixing work, I really appreciate the attention to detail. Your mixes are my absolute favorite to put on while I'm doing work. Thank you so much for this.
❤️
You don't know how many times this playlist has saved me from college works already. Excelent selection with excelent timing. Congrats for making it, bro!
thanks!
Your mixes never disappoint. Nice jam as always, glad youre uploading stuff again
Wanted to thank you for joining the premier yesterday. I was late to the chat and missed your message. Glad to be back. Appreciate your support

this is just wonderful. personal favourite is 17:02. i’m so glad this exists. makes me nostalgic for a past i never experienced
this is mystically beautiful.
my theory is that they did all those nostalgic yet random videogames as an excuse to drop the hardest soundtracks ever written
MASSIVE ape escape vibes from that first song. Love this mix!
And the fact that Barbie Super Sports is on here. 😂 Hidden gem, that one was.
So dope- and i always wondered why i had an affinity for a genre i didnt know the name of! It was subconsciously programmed into my soul by the cool ass games we used to play lol Thanks for putting it all together RK!
I got covid earlier this week and I turn this playlist on, what a weird fever dream I was having then.
Also stamping my favorite track(s):
- 0:40:09 08 (sydney 2000)
- 0:46:51 52 (raystorm)
- 0:52:12 boss - musashi (soul of the samurai)
- 1:10:23 20 (monaco grand prix)
Halfway through and loving every minute so far. So good.
❤
it really is so gooooodd
@gnome
2 and half hour mix from such a large range of games that i have to commend just the effort put into getting all of these tunes into 1 mix alone
all of these songs go hard and are also mixed together so seamlessly, seriously super well done man
thank you ♥
This kind of music is exactly what gets me into a weird flow state while working, especially when it's dull and dark outside and I'm doing something engaging.
(If you like this but want something a bit more intense, I listened to the Serial Experiments Lain CYBERiA Mix all the way through university finals.)
Brilliant playlist
thanks!
@lunar
Hi, I know your gonna read this Ryland,
Thanks so much for your effort and hard work you did to put all this Drum & Bass mix together, I use to have a PS1 since 1996 and heavily fell in love with Drum & Bass since 1998 listening to it from a local radio station here in Perth and have been into it since then.
All those hidden Jungle/ DnB snippets from the PS1 you have managed to save and put it all together...
So thankyou for doing this and bringing the bliss!!!
thanks for listening ❤️
This is - hands down - the world's best UA-cam mix ever made. No contest.
What magnificent, magical music 🖤💜
thank you! ❤️❤️
what a beautiful and nostalgic mix you've created..Truly, I thank you for your service. this reminds me of the days where every video game had true passion behind them, devoid of paywalls and were only inspired by making sure they left their mark on whoever played them, never to be forgotten. thank you for allowing me to reminisce through your beautiful track selection
Dnb, house and jungle will never die!
woooOOOOooow da roach dawg in the flesh!!

And so I discover a new music genre, thank you!
