What an absolutely stellar mix, and I'm floored by the Sheep Raiders soundtruck. That was a fantastic game and a lot of early PS1 titles really influenced the music I listen to today.
Been seeing a lot of these general vibe playlists on youtube these past few months, and decided to actually sit down and listen with this one. It's honestly blowing my mind cause it's basically a mix of all the songs I used to have the hardest time finding when I was younger and searching for music from lesser known games and stuff, and I'm honestly surprised I recognize most of the tracks.
I could never imagine a looney tunes game with such a banging soundtrack. Thank you for these mixes. This is an infinite supply of inspiration for my jazzy dnb tracks.
I don't know if jazzstep officially even exist but back then it didn't existed at all. It was called acid jazz, trip-hop or break beat and today sadly acid jazz is associated with something else judging by the video titles everywhere and hard to find anything under that label that is actually acid jazz. For example just so people know wtf I am talking about the music in Sheep Raider is officially labeled as acid jazz but also some tracks have lots of DNB jungle elements in it too so it's not strictly just acid jazz either but most of it is, still I guess you know now what I mean. And yeah none of this was ever called jazzstep XD Since ''step'' of any kind was never an official genre label anyway, the closest it became a thing was thanks to dubstep and years after dubstep was accepted it emerged these other genres labeled as ''step'' which basically most of them really come from or basically sound identical to trip-hop. Labeling anything as ''step'' was controversial for a long time since in dance lectures a common word was well yeah a step so not making confusion and selfishly label a music genre a step of any kind it was banned. But give it decades thanks to edgy uneducated kids and the incompetence of a music industry a thing dubstep was born as a label after that we have all kind of ''steps'' that is just BS anyway and like I said sounds exactly like things that already existed decades prior.
