In the second mission we find out a lot more about Nova. First off, it turns out she now regarded as a traitor to the Terran Dominion. Secondly, a terrorist group is hunting here.
In this mission, called "Sudden Strike" in the Nova Covert Ops we focus on defending a Terran base while the Zerg is trying to overrun them. With the use of Reapers, as well as the adjustments to Nova's suit we manage to... But just barely.
All missions in the StarCraft 2 campaign playlist are played on the Brutal difficulty, which is the hardest difficulty in the game. In this video I play the StarCraft 2: Nova Covert Ops mission called "Sudden Strike" on Brutal.

When I did this mission, I blew up Horner's refineries and started stealing his gas and minerals. The economy boost made me broken for this mission.

You should have done the optional quest, they give bonus abilities for units and Nova in future missions.

this is like a tower defense game, lowko you could have build bunkers on the cliff and place marines in it
but hey it'll fall to ravager anyway
I tried and it works wonders since they have the fire extinguisher from way back in the WoL campaign making them a perfect counter to the ravagers (since the AI doesn't seem to be smart enough to throw 4 bile thingies together.)
Loved this campaign, finally I had the chance to use a character who really should have gotten that old Starcraft: Ghost game of hers years ago. And here even just all the little details Blizzard put in for it make it all the better, like the new portraits for Nova's units that Lowko is so nicely overlapping. xD

lol lowko u might want to learn to invest in static base defenses they can really save your butt and all those squares were meant as places to put bunkers had u put bunkers on each of those squares u would of had a much easier time. Though at least u are smarter than the other guy I watched doing this mission. That guy saved both bonus objectives but then ignored the tech and didn't pick it up.

Yep. And it all began from the very first Heroes of the Storm cinematic where Nova had clearly a perfect doll face instead of.. real human face from Wings of Liberty.

Doubt you'll ever read this comment, but thank you for being a big part of the reason I started playing StarCraft 2 again. You're entertaining and you play pretty damn good. I couldn't imagine being as good as you are brother. Just no time for it like that. I'm 29 with two kids and I just try to play when I can. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining I love my family but I do miss the all nighters just playing world of Warcraft and brood wars custom maps. Thanks again man.

Big fan of all your work Lowko, just couple suggestions: try to turn up the grafic quality of the cutscenes it seems like you have them on low quality..and replay this mission to get second bonus objective offscreen :p you have to get aaall of the sweet equipment to test out right?

I just realized this, but when had you seen defilers at this point? According to your later vids, you didn't play SC1 until Remastered. There were the skeletons in WoL, but I do not believe you would have fought them in any campaigns before now.

Actually, this mission is piece of cake, when enough marauders produced to man all defence bunkers. Spamming reapers is good for softening the atacks, but it definetly does not halt the onslaught.... Also as was said here - Nova herself is here like UBER supersoldier, when microed properly (granades used on crowds of zerglings and sniping used on anything bigger, up to brutalisk. Althought "only" 125 dammage, per one snipe, you may spam that ability until you have energy. And of course, as quick, as cooldown (not sure if there IS some) lets you.
It is not that the ravagers are living longer, Defilers use the dark swarm (the orange cloud) that spells negates the damage of ranged units, you need to attack them when they are outside the cloud, or use melee attacks and spells, that's the problem

@LowkoTV well if u notice carefully, the defilers' cloud just practically gave the surrounding units invulnerability... taking 0 dmg at all... That need some micro to burst down defilers as fast as u can. Surely that defiler's cloud still persist for a few seconds after their death.

the play style in mission and pvp will never be the same, you'd most often find yourself struggling more on missions with a pvp mindset vice versa.

Zerg units will be invulnerable in Defiler's fog so with 1 Defiler and bunch of blings will crush ur base unless u have some window mines.

John Pryce well it's possible zagara wants to lead them against the terrans and they are only listed as feral because the terrans don't have intel. Much like how Amon's zerg were originally thought to be feral. It's more likely these are just feral though because {spoilers} they are so easily controlled by the terrorists
Slaughterrific Doesn't make much sense for it to be Zagara, not after the end of Legacy.
Lowko i suggest you that in this mission you should Scan Top right Corner of the map. There is a Suprise there :O

Benoit Dussault He did lose a lot of marines to the banelings, :P so it would had made him use less minerals replacing those lost unites. :O

Is there anyway you can get the last achievement where Zerg cannot destroy any structure on hard or brutal difficulty? it gets me everytime. It'd be fun if you showed us how to get that achievement. :D

so.....ya the defiler's spell undermined your defense stragey a lot of the time and having the grenage and shotgun are kinda redundant- they both do massive aoe +light dmg. mass reaper and keeping control of the cliffs would have mitigated the progress of the waves

The corozive bio from the ravengers have The same attack speed from the multiplayer dude. What are u talking about here on the nova campaign moving faster, it doesn't make any fucking sense. Like I said.... It moves AT The same speed lol.

Technically, it's Matt's forces, which are blue, but in the dominion army, which is red. Huh.
The Dominion was red in HotS and WoL because they were 'bad guys'. In LotV, they actually were GOOD.

I dont understand how you pros micro so fast. I'm sitting over here trying to make sure my army doesn't die and make the right moves while also producing units to recover them.
+Mwmem Jmeep It's just a few years of practice really. Over time you'll get much faster as well by just simply playing.
LowkoTV Yeah I hope so. When i first played sc, i had a apm of 50. I now at least do 95 and hoping i can get faster with new strategies. But those people who glide thru their screen so fast still amaze me.

How to participate in the give away?
For someone who’s played a lot of StarCraft and can be considered to be a pro, you’re really scatterbrained. There were clearly marked areas all over the place for Bunkers, including example bunkers placed at the point you’re supposed to defend. They even tell you to build bunkers, at which point you build bunkers in the completely wrong place. Not to mention the fact that you kept scanning yourself! I can understand being used to things being a certain way and habit, but it’s not hard to realise and stop!
How is Nova the good girl here?
