Haha, yes the whole beach is covered in shells. In fact a little further along from where I videoed this the whole beach is made of nothing but shells. Hence the name of the location - Shellness.
Another great and informative video Nick. So well filmed as you always do, lovely little birds, I’ve only ever seen a few but learned a lot watching this. Thanks for sharing 👍👍👍👍
Thanks for those kind words, always nice to know people appreciate it. If you get to a location where they are in any number Common Ringed Plovers are hard to stalk but if you watch where they are feeding, sit down and blend into the environment a bit they will come quite close. Indeed, a few of these ones came too close to video properly.
@@BirdingwithNick gosh that’s brilliant. I managed to photo a few Common Sandpipers on our lakes here and then spooked some Snipe - great to see them here too 👍👍👍 Keep sharing Nick. Your vids are excellent 👍👍👍
Hi there Nick and thanks for another terrific video of amazing birds.I say that since their speed of these is almost supersonic . Great filming and editing ( as always ) Have a good week ..greetings from Berlin .🌻 Helena
@@BirdingwithNick Full marks for illustrating rapid they are .Enjoy your week too..It's sunny here and right now I'm off to one of the best local spot for birds :)
Hi Nick! This was excellent, thanks for sharing. I'd love to visit that beach someday. Can I ask, how do you record your voiceover narration? What's your setup? Cheers and happy birding!
Thanks for watching and your comments. I am not using a very sophisticated ste up; I just put a microphone into my camera and speak into that; I do it in a room that has lots of soft furnishings to prevent any echo. Then I just drop the file into the editing software I use and cut and move it around as required. I usually use this microphone - Boya BY-M1 Lavalier Clip-on Microphone - amzn.to/3jIrF5O

Thank you. ◕‿◕
You're welcome.
Great views of the plovers and excellent information. Best regards
Thank you, glad you liked the plovers.
Nice to see those lots of birds. If that place is only near to us, for sure will be there often to pick up empty shells.

So as always a beautiful and interesting video.
Thank you Nick.

Awesome footage & great info/narration Nick! What a lovely species!😍 thanks for sharing!
Cheers. A common one here but one of my favourites because it hangs out on my favourite lonely beach and lets me get close!

Hi Helena. Indeed, I tried to video them as they ran across the sand in pursuit of small crabs but had to give up - too fast. Have a good week.
