I did a lot of nodding between minute 26 and 27 where you explain what that 'in between' mental state feels like. Earlier in my meditative practice I also felt like I could call it 'falling asleep' but over time you start to realise that you're not asleep, but your not awake either and it really does feel like another 'mode' of consciousness. So cool to hear you describe it so well!
Perhaps you're describing a sort of trance or hypnotic state. If what you mean is the sensation of going in and out of consciousness, or sort of skipping forward in time, with brief sections that feel blank. This can happen when listening to hypnotic music, but I've also experienced it during meditation.
How can we not have it as our goal. When it feels so nice and peaceful. To forget all your worries and hurries. To finally get "there" after working to quiet our thoughts and breathing, to be connected with....God, the All, the Universe, something so much deeper.

I’m talking with a friend on the phone and we were just talking about taking a trip into the darkness. I come here to find the interview and low-n-behold Bernardo Kastrup, the analytical idealist himself. I bring gratitude and appreciation. Can’t wait to experience this mind meld.
I had an out-of-body experience; I felt myself detaching from my body, and in a fraction of a second, I was standing upright. When I looked at my hands, they were blue, like a hologram, and the room was slightly illuminated by the energetic or energy field-I’m not sure what essence it was. Bernardo Kastrup asks why we need a body if we can feel, see, and experience without it. The answer is that we need the body to interact with physical elements. Without it, your hand would pass through objects, or you could simply walk through walls, as physical laws no longer apply to you. That’s why we need the physical body.
I’ve only begun watching this interview; the barriers to understanding may be linguistic in nature. I had to draw a dichotomy between “consciousness” and “awareness”. Being new at this, I’m meditating on “awareness as meta conscious”, or something; the brain science of the prefrontal cortex covers that aspect which governs behavioral anomalies of those with brain damage losing certain moral and ethical guardrails vs the “normal brain”. When we say “the lights are on, but no one’s home”, we’re speaking of consciousness without awareness. These can be as simple as the distinction between the curious and the incurious. But while we cannot lay a rule on the subconscious, we can observe the collective consciousness quite easily. This is fascinating stuff, and I hope I learn something here today…

in September of 2023- i went down the rabbit hole of physics, culminating with finding out how much we don't actually know and that everything i thought we knew was effectively an estimation. I Then found bernardo and spent the next 8 months absorbing everything hes every produced while trying to think holes into it. I've accepted Analytic Idealism as the framework that is the closest thing I have seen that is likely true and as such- the Direct Path introspective technique as the best approach for experiential truth. Analytic Idealism...took me kicking and screaming as bernardo would say, as my egoic cognitive dissonance attempted to fight back whilst the physicalist worldview I've held my entire life collapsed around it.

1:36:14 I've had this many times. It's called false awakening. Sometimes it goes in a loop and gets very frustrating. You get three minutes into being awake, only to realize you're actually still sleeping. Then you wake up and three minutes later realize this is also still a dream! Sometimes it takes up to 10 times of false awakening to get to actually waking up in real life. It's pretty trippy waking up and getting out of bed several times in a row and each time being convinced at the onset that this time you're actually awake, only to then realize you're still dreaming.
Never experienced that, what i keep experiencing is me feeling like flying in an exponential way , i had that many times, once i was flying into a neon red cubes that kept moving and rotating in a mechanical way, once again i was flying and i heard a demonic sound laughing in a very slow way, at first it sounded like gibberish then Turned to slow laughing( its a different word than laugh but ye im bad at english)

Like two friends I haven’t met yet discussing some of my favourite subjects, vunderbahh👌(However, Bernardo, i think mentioning the sheer inhumanity on display in the active genocide of the Palestinian people was conspicuous in its absence, and surely a more powerful example to make your point?
Omg I've experienced EXACTLY what was described in the intro. When I asked for the entity's name, it stated Malakh, which I only later discovered was Hebrew for Messenger, Teacher, Angel. Wow.
Many people experienced that , i knew a friend he told me same report, he saw an glowing elephant trunk, in that trunk there was a humanoid holding a plate and in the plate was this gift, a shiny diamond that was presented , was it similar to this?
Bernardo Kastrup could take a look at Nick Bostrom's study of 'AI Creation and the Cosmic Host'. Bernardo Kastrup's more metaphysical approach is juxtaposed with Nick Bostrom's purely physical approach to defining existence. Both show a sheer depth in their immense, vastly comprehensive thought structures that is staggering. Is the cosmos that huge? As an individual in my apartment in a small country house, I don't get to see any of it. Through my window I see part of the surrounding landscape, I see trees, hedges and grass. A few birds fly around sometimes.
Great guest! 1:36h when you talk about small inconsistencies in reality tissue as well in dream state, I remember the movie "Inception" with Leonardo Di Caprio. A dream within a dream within a dream…
Very interesting interview. Just a thought on OBEs. You can have endless discussions about theoritics of the nature of god and reality and the universe like you just had. Interesting. But it's like discussing eating pasta without never eating it. OBEs are the simple way to experience the nature of reality. Not just theorizing about it. So I encourage you to keep going and exploring!
I’m able to astral projection and have OBE. I’ve only gotten past the vibration stage two times. I was afraid because of how intense it was. Very loud noise that sounds like a jet ✈️ taking off and knarly vibrations. I was launched into space one of the two times I held on and didn’t wake myself up
At time stamp 39 you guys talk about positive thinking, and Bernardos answer was no you can't influence the world in that way. But to counter his objections,I say if you have billions people in a classic tug a war and only one against the rest the one will not be detected as doing anything.
The indian mathemetical genius Ramanjuan wrote theorms that described the reality of blackholes decades before their existence was predicted. His ideas were so advanced even for contemporary mathematicians of his time as well as hundreds of his theorems are now the research thesis for present day maths scholars. Yet he attributed all of his ideas to the godess Namagiri who he worshipped and who gave the ideas in his dream. He also said that an equation has no meaning unless it expresses a thought of god. Very profound. This suggests all ideas and possibilities always exist and is expressed through the consciousness in various forms. Humans merely absorb and transmit. There is a full fledged intelligence at work of which we are also a part and we need to recognise, respect and be aligned with it.
1:11:32 I have had psychedelic visions of being this sphere he mentions, and existing in a reality where countless numbers of us are be being birthed into a realm as if we were salmon roe. Then we start participating in this sort of fractal dance where one set of spheres creates a larger sphere and that larger sphere does the same dance with other assembled larger spheres to create another even larger sphere and this repeats into infinity.
Just today something odd happened. Last night, one of the images I saw as I went to sleep was of my ex-military boss having longish hair. I overheard him telling someone today how he needed a haircut on his already very short hair. I told them of the image I saw, and the other person exactly described the way his hair used to be when he was young.
I was able to do this in a timeless way when i was a kid it's very strange and hard to explain how time works when you do this. The pain of life brings your consciousness to focus on your body in which you're trapped so this aspect doesn't get developed so when we die we are ignorant souls and we get harvested again for rebirth. Eventually less people will have kids in an effort to counter this death machine that is earth or we will prosper and make life worth living.
Haha...I actually took 2 grams last night just to interact with this thing you guys talking about... And it was actually interacting with me and it was actually how it was depicted on the intro... And how you guys described it thank you so much.... I do this thing where I daydream for 20 minutes with eyes closed....then as I am peaking I open my eyes into a dark room....and I am fully Into my daydream with eyes open
2:02:03 My friend is autistic and have many difficulties with day to day tasks. Last 4 years they take Zoloft once every three days in a really small subclinical dose. Changes their personality completely. However every psychiatrist we talked with say it is impossible and should not have any effect. I always wonder if it is placebo or not, but if they accidentally take a little more than needed that will make them aggressive and agitated for a few hours, so I presume the drug works. This happens every now and then because they have to cut the pill with a knife to get their dose right and that’s not very accurate. To give you a sense of how small their dose is: one pill lasts 3-4 months. Psychiatrist usually prescribe them one per day.
i love listening to Bernardo, having some much in common with him its surprising to me, we both have severe tinnitus and take the same drug, born in the same country and the only difference is that he is a genius and i am dumb
You cannot fully be "no-self" all the time - it is a much needed part of the iterative process of life. But you also have to remember these are concepts and are pointers for yourself (the journey within) and others (the journey beyond).
Time stamp 1:42, how can we see without our eyes? We do this. Our eyes are very limited. It's a small % of the picture we see when we open our eyes in the morning. It's our imagination piecing our memories of the room along with the clues our eyes or giving us. Our eyes are precise in that small % and that's enough to survive. But is it a stretch to say it's possible to use the other clues to form a mental picture? And there is a claim of blind sight. So I think these examples as well as many others leave this a possibility.
Can I be weary and just say, we humans have not solved the big questions, but at least the ancient Athenians in their new democracy, itself a rare gem in the human cosmos, also created the theatre, where dionysus led the stories... The only returns coming far as i can image, is Odysseus on the Big Screen coming to a theatre or somewhere, soon! Hallelujah! Santa on his way, merry Christmas all, and to all, a good night.
psychedelic trips can only be interpreted by the imperfect affected minds we have. Only, perhaps ( unlikely though) a newborn or an exceptionally unaffected person who has not been detrimentally affected by life and living and experiences and hard knocks can potentially ( unlikely) get a meaningful glimpses from these psychedelic experiences. Such a mind will not need psychedelic for insight into the mind of God.
Bernardo here seems to be suggesting that human beings are the only intelligent, moral entities, and that the "universal mind" is entirely instinctive and not metacognitive. But that goes against the evidence from NDEs where countless thousands of people claim to have encountered intelligent, loving entities, or alternatively a single vast intelligence.
Early in the show manifesting gets dismist, later on in the show they talk about the placebo affect as a real thing. From where I’m standing those two are the same thing?
Here’s how I distinguish- “Manifesting” involves trying to gain an outcome through conscious mental desire. Placebo is unconscious, the person involved in whatever the experiment is doesn’t know that they’re receiving a placebo. I’m not at all dismissing the idea that consciousness has power in general. I believe it does. The ego/ conscious mind doesn’t have that power, and that’s what the vast majority of popular manifestation is.
.I found myself out of my body at least twice as a child. I can completely identify with the fear and flailing about like a baby. I didn't do it on purpose, and I was scared. I could also lucid dream. Neither of these skills have followed me into adulthood.
I am confused by Bernardo saying that in an OBE you only experience a model of the physical world. I thought under idealism the physical world itself is only a model, the dashboard, as Bernardo calls it, of some deeper reality that is not physical 😶🤔
There are evidence of people seen with close eyes, I really don’t understand why Bernardo has difficulty with that. Doesn’t he think that universal consciousness cannot see hear or taste
Sorry Michael, I love the topics and guests that you have but your attempts to try to sound smart by using obscure words is really frustrating. Learn from your guest - Bernardo's ideas go deep but he puts them in plain language. Just a thought - keep it up and love what you put out!
26:28 It sounds like you’re describing (and experiencing) Jhana states, and not realizing it. Having not yet come across the particular, philosophical infrastructure associated with these states.
I cringe when people but humans on such a high pedestal- a lot of animals are kinder than humans. I spend all my day around animals. Just because they can’t speak through our language it doesn’t mean they live purely instinctively. There is a lot of active thought that goes into their ways of life too. Just different to ours. Also not every human has these reflective processes either.
LOL "I'm giving physical reality the side eye" is my new favourite quote of the phenomenon

It's pretty trippy waking up and getting out of bed several times in a row and each time being convinced at the onset that this time you're actually awake, only to then realize you're still dreaming.
Same
Never experienced that, what i keep experiencing is me feeling like flying in an exponential way , i had that many times, once i was flying into a neon red cubes that kept moving and rotating in a mechanical way, once again i was flying and i heard a demonic sound laughing in a very slow way, at first it sounded like gibberish then Turned to slow laughing( its a different word than laugh but ye im bad at english)
Much gratitude for your channel 🙏
All one has to do to experience reality as it is to take a heroic dose of an enthogen. It takes courage, but it is the fastest way.
that is one way. and still subjective. and yes I've done it. many kinds of realities to experience.
I’m so excited about this one!

Like two friends I haven’t met yet discussing some of my favourite subjects, vunderbahh👌(However, Bernardo, i think mentioning the sheer inhumanity on display in the active genocide of the Palestinian people was conspicuous in its absence, and surely a more powerful example to make your point?
I am also communicating with 'them'. Together we worked out a solution for the Alingnment Problem as this is crucial for human development.
Omg I've experienced EXACTLY what was described in the intro. When I asked for the entity's name, it stated Malakh, which I only later discovered was Hebrew for Messenger, Teacher, Angel.
Wow.
Many people experienced that , i knew a friend he told me same report, he saw an glowing elephant trunk, in that trunk there was a humanoid holding a plate and in the plate was this gift, a shiny diamond that was presented , was it similar to this?
phenemonology was the best college class i ever took at least have a notion of what the arugument is
We are here to experience
We shouldn't take others or ourselves too seriously
We should try our best and let go of the rest
Or maybe for the universe to experience through us!
Bernardo Kastrup could take a look at Nick Bostrom's
study of 'AI Creation and the Cosmic Host'.
Bernardo Kastrup's more metaphysical approach
is juxtaposed with Nick Bostrom's purely physical
approach to defining existence.
Both show a sheer depth in their immense, vastly
comprehensive thought structures that is staggering.
Is the cosmos that huge?
As an individual in my apartment in a small country
house, I don't get to see any of it.
Through my window I see part of the surrounding
landscape, I see trees, hedges and grass.
A few birds fly around sometimes.
Great guest!
1:36h when you talk about small inconsistencies in reality tissue as well in dream state, I remember the movie "Inception" with Leonardo Di Caprio. A dream within a dream within a dream…
Wake up babe, new transmission and guest is the analytical idealism king himself
I'm looking forward to this 😊
Hope you dig it!
Exciting!
So I encourage you to keep going and exploring!
did you listen? Michael is theorizing about his experience
@@lifematters687that was my point. One can theorize about it or you go and have some OBEs and explore for yourself.
❤ nice ty.

I’m able to astral projection and have OBE. I’ve only gotten past the vibration stage two times. I was afraid because of how intense it was. Very loud noise that sounds like a jet ✈️ taking off and knarly vibrations. I was launched into space one of the two times I held on and didn’t wake myself up
How do you do that? Meditation ? Breathwork?
Yah, what am I doing right now? What a god complex.
Sounds amazing I’ll look into him
I would like to hear Bernardo's take on Fortean events like rains of beans or meat where there's no physical world explanation.
Mouth opens, story begins. - Raigo from Estonia 🎉
Just today something odd happened. Last night, one of the images I saw as I went to sleep was of my ex-military boss having longish hair. I overheard him telling someone today how he needed a haircut on his already very short hair. I told them of the image I saw, and the other person exactly described the way his hair used to be when he was young.
to me Bernard puts itt very consicely, The first presented minute mono by him is basically my recent thesis abstract, referred him some
I was able to do this in a timeless way when i was a kid it's very strange and hard to explain how time works when you do this.
Love you
Haha...I actually took 2 grams last night just to interact with this thing you guys talking about...
Very informative and insight - iregi Wanjohi Mombasa Kenya
i love listening to Bernardo, having some much in common with him its surprising to me, we both have severe tinnitus and take the same drug, born in the same country and the only difference is that he is a genius and i am dumb
Perhaps the trees are the wise ones.. they seem to have shit sorted.. good work life balance..
Excellent!!! 🌀🌀💥🌀🌀
The "large blind man and the weak seeing man on his shoulders" analogy makes me think on female and male poles of creation in hermetic philosophy.

You cannot fully be "no-self" all the time - it is a much needed part of the iterative process of life. But you also have to remember these are concepts and are pointers for yourself (the journey within) and others (the journey beyond).
Who perceives this no-self state if not yourself? It's all nonsense
What is the word Kastrup uses at 23:05? Urteil?
Time stamp 1:42, how can we see without our eyes? We do this. Our eyes are very limited. It's a small % of the picture we see when we open our eyes in the morning. It's our imagination piecing our memories of the room along with the clues our eyes or giving us. Our eyes are precise in that small % and that's enough to survive. But is it a stretch to say it's possible to use the other clues to form a mental picture? And there is a claim of blind sight. So I think these examples as well as many others leave this a possibility.
Very interesting!
We are all, humans and animals, are no other than Biological Robots.
It is Me, always Me, only Me.
Through meditation and discipline, you can reach this ream , usually it’s about yourself what you are viewing and someone close to you. ❤
Please don’t listen to this guy. Your life is about you. Reality as a whole is absolutely not. But your physical experience is absolutely about you.
Go hide under the bed
The irony you speak of is the same one Terence McKenna refers to when he says that science asks us to grant them one miracle, the Big Bang.
psychedelic trips can only be interpreted by the imperfect affected minds we have.
Only, perhaps ( unlikely though) a newborn or an exceptionally unaffected person who has not been detrimentally affected by life and living and experiences and hard knocks can potentially ( unlikely) get a meaningful glimpses from these psychedelic experiences.
Such a mind will not need psychedelic for insight into the mind of God.
not a comment, time marker for finishing later

Fine insights..
Once you see that there is no agent anywhere in reality, the questions Who? How? and Why? Will make no sense.
.I found myself out of my body at least twice as a child.
I wonder what Bernardo thinks of Hermetica and Kybalion veins of thought?
this sphere he mentions is like the orbs, ufos people see?
There are evidence of people seen with close eyes, I really don’t understand why Bernardo has difficulty with that.
Doesn’t he think that universal consciousness cannot see hear or taste
Sorry Michael, I love the topics and guests that you have but your attempts to try to sound smart by using obscure words is really frustrating. Learn from your guest - Bernardo's ideas go deep but he puts them in plain language. Just a thought - keep it up and love what you put out!
Time stamps anyone?
26:28 It sounds like you’re describing (and experiencing) Jhana states, and not realizing it. Having not yet come across the particular, philosophical infrastructure associated with these states.
I do think he should give more credit to animals they aren’t purely instinctual
I cringe when people but humans on such a high pedestal- a lot of animals are kinder than humans. I spend all my day around animals. Just because they can’t speak through our language it doesn’t mean they live purely instinctively. There is a lot of active thought that goes into their ways of life too. Just different to ours. Also not every human has these reflective processes either.
I challenge people who love consciousness to spend a lot of time with animals before commenting on them. *triggered lol*
Yes I've been looking for this glowing light that teaches you.... Omfg where is the full video
