I was born in MD. And raised there will never leave here in WV. it is a beautiful place to live and so much to see you should get out of your car and see things and meet people. INSTEAD OF PUTTING US DOWN
I believe I heard them say something about the beautiful white women in Starbucks tho? Couldn't really tell with all the crunching of food wrappers and full mouths of food while trying to speak. Plus just being a little astonished that was actually the topic....
I agree with you. I am not from WV, but searching for a town to revitalize. As you said, putting the town down is a 'no'. It is absolutely one of the most beautiful states....and the people are generally very nice. Additionally, google can be your friend when you don't know the real history of a place. Most folk would think WV went the way of the South which isn't true if my history memory serves me right. If we learn why we have a VA and a W. VA it will tell the tale. Because of topography there were only two places that even had slaves....but I digress. let's just be nice.
I'm trying to move here, hate going back to NC to sell my things hate to leave and be in that crime infested state with rude people I really do like it here so much. You are very lucky.
Look at your maps and do some research. The city of War, in McDowell County is truly west Virginia most Southern city, furthermore, if you took the time to get to know the people of the area, you wouldn't be so quick to judge. You obviously don't know anything About our wonderful state or it's beautiful people.

Their isn't a huge crime problem in West Virginia but it has a large opioid problem.,nice for homeworkers wanting a slower pace, more affordable cost of living.
W.V. has plenty of certain types of crimes actually, but not a lot of serious violent crime (other then sex offences) nor a high rate of felony theft. Plenty of drug & drink influenced lesser crime though (minor theft, fights, minor frauds/extortion, etc.). It's also a very warm and community oriented state however, but also VERY provincial!
West Virginia was actually PART of Virginia, but separated to become it's own state as it was predominantly loyal to the union (with a large pro confederate minority) and had relatively few slaves. It's part of "Greater Appalachia". Quiet, but neat little town!
I'm in Princeton now. I love how WV is compared to the rest of the crime infested fast paced country. I'm done with big cities no riots or nonsense in Princeton like where I'm from. It's not depressing and there's nicer looking areas if you wanted to drive through them.
WV isn’t a bad place to visit, but I get the impression that everyone who lives there has always lived there. So, unless you have relatives there you’ll always be an outsider and it would suck for you.
That’s bullshit, I just moved to WV a couple months ago, from the West Coast out of all places. I’ll take humble, working class, conservatives over the smug, liberal elites back in California any day. It’s definitely different out here (to say the least) but people have been pretty welcoming and friendly. On top of that I have a nice house with 2 acres, cheap property taxes, cheap fuel, and affordable cost of living, also the specific area I live in has excellent healthcare nearby. If you think it’s tough being an outsider coming to this state, I can assure you it would be ten times harder for a West Virginian to be accepted in the suburbs of California or a city like Sacramento or San Francisco.
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS maybe you’re right, I have no doubts that this states has its downsides, I’ve jumped around many universities, jumped around many military bases, ect. I’ve lived a lot of places, but almost anywhere beats the direction California has gone at this point.
The road You came into Princeton on was the old US 460. When you came down key street that big white building you passed on your left is where I went to grade school at . It was called thorn school at that time
I got lost in Princeton, kept going round and round in circles for about 2 hours.West Virginia separated from Virginia in 1863 to become a Union State before the Civil War ended in 1875.Bluefield is actually the most southern city in the state but Princeron is in the same county.
Actually Princeton is the County Seat and Houses the County Courthouse. We actually have a home from the Civil War and is still in the state that it was used when Dr. McNutt had the home. If you would like to know more or see the area through eyes of someone that knows the area so you don't judge utilize your poor judgement. You could or may think about asking someone to give advice as to where you should travel around or continue to be a J@*#@$$ and drive blindly. You do realize we really love our area and heritage. And, BTW your poor opinion truly doesn't matter to the Great Ppl of Southern WEST VIRGINIA!!!!
I'm back and forth to Pearisburg VA from Princeton it seems about the same. Really great folks. I think I like the Bluefield and Princeton WV area better but it's all better than NC
I live in SWFL & will be going up to Princeton, WV for a work trip. Thanks for showing the area. I’m looking forward to seeing the mountains & fall foliage.
😅😅😅😅😅😂😂 #1 state for people on food stamps those people just sit around and wait for a handout. Come to south Florida or the midwest to see REAL farming.
When you turned left on HWY 104 all that in there used to flood big time in early spring when I was growing up From snow they would haul in there and dump from the streets during the winter. That was all called stumpy bottom
Why anyone would disparage a city, an entire group of women and how people live is beyond me. The man who was stuffing his face while describing how he would come to this city, find a white woman, sand her off, clean her up, etc. is horribly racist. His female partner who laughed at his crude remarks was equally as responsible by showing approval of his remarks with her mirth. I have found the people of this area to be warm hearted and giving, even though they don't have much to give. Such awful remarks against them and their community is very sad.
