  • Hello my beautiful fam welcome back to my kitchen, today I’m going to share with you how to make the perfect, soft and fluffy conchas!!!! Let me tell you that I’m very proud of this recipe! I’m not a baker But I enjoy baking for my family specially because this happens to be my favorite sweet bread, this recipe took a lot of wasted flour to get it to perfection 😅 but I’m very proud that I was able to do it and now I’m here sharing it with you all ! I hope you enjoy it and as always if you do please don’t forget to give me a big thumbs up, comment down below what recipe you will like to see next and if you new to my channel please hit that subscribe bottom so you can be part of our family!😘
Ingredients: bake at 325*F for 18-20 minutes
Make sure you let your dough rise double it’s size, this is the most important step of this recipe!. Makes about 10-12 conchas
    4 cups all purpose flour
    3/4 cups sugar
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 tbsp active yeast
    1 tbsp cinnamon
    1 tbsp anise extract
    1 tbsp vanilla blend
    1 egg at room temperature
    8 tbsp melted unsalted butter
1 cup evaporated milk temperature between 120-130
Topping: vanilla ( if you choose to make both just cut each recipe in half)
7 tbsp unsalted butter at room temp
    3/4 cup powder sugar
    3/4 cup flour
    1 tsp vanilla blend
    Chocolate:
7 tbsp unsalted butter at room temp
    1/2 cup powder sugar
    3/4 cup flour
    2 tbsp Hershey’s cocoa
    1 serving of love 💕

Thank you for your amazing recipe!! The conchas were so yummy!!! They brought me back to my childhood in California. Where I live now, there are no conchas so I was so happy when I made your recipe and it turned out so perfectly. They were still soft the next day. I just wanted to add that I proofed the yeast in the warm milk before adding it to the flour. Thanks again!!!

Omgggg thank you SOOOOO much girl!!! You rock!! You are the BOMB!!! I made these yesterday and they came out soo good!! My mom and I loved them. I did however mix it in a bowl instead of putting it on a counter because I don't have room like that unfortunately. Also the bake time for me was different. My oven was the same temp but unfortunately, some of them burned slightly at the bottom when I left them for 15 minutes. So next time I will try to bake them for 10 minutes instead of 15. I also used a toothpick to make sure they were cooked thoroughly in the middle. Other then that you should be fine. Happy baking!!!

Your Grandma was right about the dough farting! The “farts” are the sound of the gas made by the yeast because it is growing and fermenting the flour in your dough! So once you hear those farts, your dough is ready for its rise. The dough farts are real, thanks grandma 🤗❤️

Alex Pacheco - Yeah, I always knew that's the reason they're called conchas. Though I brought Mexican bread for my employees one time and I said to one of them "comete una concha" and some of them started laughing. I work with Peruvians, Colombians, Puerto Ricans, Venezuelans... I guess in some countries "concha" means something else.

You gave amazing instruction. I am Puerto Rican, and love conchas - especially with my coffee. Thank you. I like the vanilla topping. The colorful ones make them more fun to eat. And Giovanni is super adorable.
