Maybe I should legit put in an effort and make a far better review of this board. I totally noticed no videos on this too, I don’t understand why too. It’s a very fun board.
@@DocDawningI would assume because it hasn't launched in many places yet. I placed an order on one here in Europe but it won't even be out until Aug 31, and Amazon says I'll only receive the order by Sep 7-8.
Can I ask if there are replacement key caps that ship with the keyboard for the B and A blue buttons. That's the only part of this keyboard that would set off my OCD.
Great question - the one I bought came with zero replacement/alternate keycaps. I wish it had macOS variants that I could swap-on the board (and easly macOS mode, which just requires swapping alt+windows keys).. But, nope.
Ha ha, yeah, I know, they're dumb. But... They're not dumb when you additionally have shine-through keycaps and I work a lot in the dark so I value that lot. It's a feature that I'd like, but it makes some sense not to have it on this since it's trying to feel a lot like the Model M which obviously had no backlight.
@@DocDawning I can understand where you are coming from. I ended up giving up on shine through key caps and installed some dimmable lights and one of those light bars that go above your monitor pointing down at the table. This way I can see what I'm typing and don't get disturbed by lights shining at my face, that bother me as well. Also, I got one for myself based mainly on your review and I am very happy with it, even gonna sell all my other keyboards, so thank you!
@@DocDawning if i didnt force myself to learn to type without looking at the board since i spend so much time typing i would have 100% agreed with you. i also use my PC in the dark due to sensitive eyes and not being able to see the board when I need to would make the board useless. even my current blacked out keyboard has a fading backlight behind the keys i press and im not even lookin at it! (note, my keys aren't shine-through but the backlight serves its function well regardless)
This is the only 8bitdo M review on UA-cam lol

@@DocDawning I would if I were you, first movers advantage!
you might like the lofree block keyboard and mouse. Its also very retro looking and has backlight!
No need backlight dude. The keyboard cool as hell
Finally. Ive been looking for this review.
Who needs backlight? Us good typists know where every key is
Nice.
Thank you for the video!
Thanks, I've been looking for a review lm this specific m edition. Alot of reviews focused on the NES edition
Yeah, I noticed that too.
