The thing you were calling a midpipe is called the overpipe. Something that makes it a lot easier to remove is to remove the nut for the engine mount from the passenger side and jack the engine up just about an inch. Overpipe will slide right out
its quiet because the rear muffler. at 11:22 you can see the big ol' muffler. I just have a PLM axel back muffler delete and it is definitely louder than this car with the headers. Just pop a muffler delete and it will be plenty loud. I've even seen people with just headers and a axel back muffler delete and its louder than this. Good video though, sounds and looks very tasteful.
Just bought some headers for my 86 totally new to the car scene just figured out I either need a friend to help me install them or learn by myself since socal shops won’t do it 😂
4:46 they have the extension so that the sensor stays a little cooler and no check engine lights come on, because without a cat on the headers a lot changes in terms of sensor readings, the extension is definitely not to make it easier to remove just saying
The pre-catalyst o2 sensor has a reading of 1 cylinder. This can cause engine failure. The correct o2 sensor must have a reading of all four cylinders.
The sound is 100% the exhaust you’re running, this is a late comment but I own an frs and got the borla catback. My sound changed dramatically with my cold air intake installation.
Hi there. Did your ECU throw a code with the new headers before a tune? I would like to know because I purchased the same header but unsure if I should get a cat fooler first before tuning the car.
I agree with the other guy, got either Tomeu or UEL headers and unequal length if you want to fix the torque problem. Equal length if you want top end power
I'll be doing mine this weekend. Snatched up the same megan uel headers and overpipe. I already have invidia n1 catback, how you think it'll compare to this setup as far as sound?

I think that sounds perfect. I don’t like super loud n/a cars. That seems like a easy install.

i live on dirt with no garage so sadly ill have to take my 86 into a shop to get my uel headers installed but still excited regardless
I think you need to get a new cat back exhaust because that's not very loud mine just has a Cat-Back exhaust and its way louder than that

I have a car back exhaust and it sounds nun like that instead it sounds better, maybe consider another higher end quality exhaust ?

Do UEL headers cause a check engine light? I still need to change out the overpipe and headers on my BRZ but I really really don’t want to get a CEL.
sounds awesome. there is no down pipe. its not turbo. its just exhaust tubing inbetween the exhaust parts
