Just out of curiosity and real interest, how did you succeed to convert to Judaism? The pro Palestinians say that anyone who “identifies as Jew is a Jew” (which I’m sure it’s an exaggeration, but suggest the process is fairly easy) while opinions from pro Israeli side suggest the contrary, that is it quite a long and difficult process. I’ve never found a first hand account so far yet, would you mind just telling me briefly how it was for you? 😊

Thank you for teaching me the story of my family. Our ancestors were traumatised and often didn’t and don’t want to discuss their past. This is so necessary
They have The US Government, a very spezial UN agency.. I see Zionism as an antisemitic, anti-Jewish movement that mass murders Semitic people (Arabs, Turks and Persians) while bringing Judaism into disrespect worldwide. They had their chance to change their image after WW2 but did everything anti-Zionists warned of. Christians were almost all anti-Zionists until WW2 propaganda and brainwashing of The West by ZIONIST ELITES.. White Supremacist European invasion - stealing two continents, The Americas and Australasia wasn't enough for them, they want Semite (Middle Eastern) territory too.
They left willingly, nobody drove them out stop believing Zionist propaganda. Of course they would prefer to live in Israel the spiritual centre of Judaism instead of being in the country of a different people of a different faith. Its not surprising since Jews are familiar with nomadic lifestyle and moving from country to country, they’ve been doing it for the past 2000 years
The answer is with British support for the migration of Jews from Iraq towards Palestine, and with Zionist support, they rioted in Baghdad against the Jewish community, but the Jews were not slaughtered, burned, and raped as in this false video. The Jews lived in Iraq for thousands of years peacefully until Britain and Israel came
So basically, up until the Zionist movement started killing and expelling Arab Palestinians from their ancient homes, Jews in Iraq thrived. Read Avi Shlaim's "Three Worlds" for a deeper insight than you'll find here. "Three Worlds, is a bitter-sweet autobiography of an accomplished Iraqi Jew who left his homeland under duress, an impassioned look back at Iraq’s lost Jewish community, and a stinging critique of Zionism and Israel." -Times of Israel
Beautiful Video. I personally come from the Mualem family, a well known and well respected one from Baghdad. My great grandfather was a very successful businessman, he owned many businesses over his life and was extremely rich, almost as much as the royalty. However, when push came to shove, he lost everything. When they left for Israel, they had nothing but themselves. My great grandmother (great grandfather's wife) was 6 months pregnant with my grandmother when they left and when my grandmother was born she had to sleep on my great grandmother's stomach for as long as they had to be in the maaborot. During the farhud, my family hid in the basement of their home for 2 days. These lessons we must never forget.
@@Liberte-bq5rc Thank you for your kind words. As Jews we must speak our stories and share them, since otherwise these things may happen again, as they are (to a much lesser degree) now.

My great grandparents lived in the Jewish quarter of Baghdad but they were extremely rich. Their house was surrounded by brick walls with glass shards on top so it couldn't be climbed. This is likely why they survived. Iraq as a society is pretty much the same as it was almost 100 years ago. Jews if they hold an Israeli citizenship to my understanding are not even allowed to enter to Iraq.
There is also a fifth one: an Israeli woman, a researcher of middle eastern cultures, who was kidnapped several years ago and is still held by terrorists in Iraq.
Until the Brits and French carved up the Middle East it was very multi faith and culture. I’ve spent time in Jordan Morocco Eygpt all still have minorities. Judenrein. My family were from Anah and Baghdad. The Iraqi Jews are descended from the Jews forcibly taken to Babylon from Judea / Israel in 586 BC by King Nebukenezar. In 1941 hundreds of Jews in Iraq were murdered in Pogroms. In 1948 130,000 Jews were jailed and fired from their jobs. Property was expropriated and their citizenship revoked. 90% fled to Israel. A few fled to Britain, USA.
My great-grandparents, like many other Iraqi Jews, left Baghdad for the Far East (to Shanghai) at the turn of the 20th century. (Most Jews settled in India.) Thank you for this comprehensive coverage of recent history of Iraqi Jews.
If you are interested in late 19th Century Baghdad, I recommend looking into "The Svoboda Diaries", some of which are available transcripted online, and the book "By Nile and Tigris: A Narrative of Journeys in Egypt and Mesopotamia on Behalf of the British Museum Between the Years 1886 and 1913" by EA Wallis Budge, available online which bring Baghdad at the time to life. Your Great Grandparents likely met my Great Great Grandfather at some point. The route to the east was via a steam riverboat to Basra to catch a ship. The boats were operated by the British Tigris & Euphrates Steam Navigation Company, and he ran the day to day operations in Baghdad.

When Benjamin Disraeli was Prime Minister of The UK, it flourished. When all Jews were ordered out of Iraq, it collapsed. Makes sense to me.
The same question should be asked about Algeria's Jews. And Syria's Jews. And Lebanon's Jews. And Iran's Jews. Do you know how many Jews live in Jordan as of 2022? ZERO. Egypt? 20. It ain't the Israelis committing apartheid, ethnic cleansing and genocide -- it's MUSLIMS.
Jordan never had any Jewish population! As for Iran until today it has the largest Jewish population in the middle east outside of Israel…even bigger than Turkey’s! Ill let u ponder
@@azizq495 Ponder this: Jordan DID have a Jewish population who were mostly murdered and the rest expelled, and in 1948 Jordan expelled 17,000 Jews from Judea and Samaria -- now referred to by some who are ignorant of history as The West Bank. Also in 1948 Jordan expelled ALL the Jews of East Jerusalem, where Jews had resided uninterrupted for a thousand years or more. As far as Iran goes, in 1948 there were 100,000 Jews there -- one of the oldest Jewish communities in the world -- and as of 2023, there were about 9,000. In Algeria in 1948 there were 140,000 Jews there, and today there are less than 200. Lebanon? In 1948, there were 20,000 Jews there, by the mid-1950s it was 7,000 and in 2020 it was 29. I love this, especially the idea of the "full circle"! My bar mitzvah haftarah was from when Jewish nobles were taken to Babylon, where many of them eventually flourished. Through the prophet Jeremiah, Hashem told the Jews to "stay, plant gardens, build homes, marry off their children, and seek the prosperity of the city," which Jews took to heart. But thousands of years later, their descendants would return to Eretz Israel.
Well, some Brits were Nazis (Oswald Mosley and his followers) and many others merely shared their beliefs, as some modern Brits who disgustingly join in the protests calling for genocide against the Israelis these days, but I think most people here already knew that.
That's exactly what happened to my family back in Iraq. They really loved their lifes and felt part of the Iraqi society until one point. Like many other Muslim countries, the Iraqis pushed the Jews to Israel because of their insane anger at the establishment of the state of Israel. Little ironic.

I am christian and I always consider myslef a Jew because my Lord and saviour was a Jew and proud of it! You know, ever since October 7th happened I never fully understand what happened. I understood there were history of war between this 2 countries. But I didn't know how far the conversations goes, leading to the holocaust. But as far as what the Bible says form the Old Testament. I understand the story of the Jews. Yesterday and the day before. I really took the time to do my research on Palestine and Israel. I hear so often people talking about land etc. Both sides gave a clear message. Palestine gave their explanations. Israel gave their explanations, people online gave their 2 cents. But my question always goes back to the Old Testiment and the Bible. However so, we live in a different time. But, the Jews remains. They're not going anywhere. My consciousness were challenged for the first time in a very long time. And I pray how this could be resolved. I was left with 3 questions that I've never heard anyone asking. 1. Doesn't the Jew deserves a country? 2. Where would they go if they're not accepted anywhere in the Middle East? Cause for what I know, the Middle East are against the Israelis. 3. Is it wrong that the Israeli have some place to call home in the Middle East? Because for aslong as I've lived and I am only 26. I know exactly what the Bible says about Israel, "God will never leave his people". He will never. And no matter what they've done. They might have not chosen God. But it is clear that God chose them. We might not have the same understanding about Jesus. But that doesn’t mean that Jesus wasn't Jewish. And there's a reason why God chosen Him to be of a Jewish mother and father. I live in Australia but I am from a chirstian Island. We there respect the Jewish people. When October 7th happened. I came back to the internet after a long time and I heard about a "Vote" for Ceasefire. And out of the pacific nations. There were only 2-3 countries that didn't signed the Petition for a ceacefire. It was Tonga (being my home) and Fiji. I am telling you Israel. You're not alone. You didn't know how happy we were when we found out that Tonga that smallest Nation in the pacific declined the petition. In every churches we pray for peace in the Middle East. Even though we're with Israel. What we pray for is peace.
People usually are looking at the 2nd temple when they're showing the Babylonian invasion of Israel The first temple was absolutely massive, people said when the 2nd temple was finished the men who knew the glory of the first temple WEPT because of how simple it was
The Babylonians conquered Jerusalem and destroyed the First Temple. The Romans destroyed the Second Temple. The Second Temple was actually more elaborate and magnificent than the First. It was loftier in appearance, but had a lesser level of holiness.

The Zionists will never call for this because they don’t want Jews to have any peace outside of Israel.

And the Arab countries what they did to their Jewish populations after 1948 💀
They left willingly, nobody drove them out stop believing Zionist propaganda.
The Jews lived in Iraq for thousands of years peacefully until Britain and Israel came
@@jjquasar Exactly, in fact, even better!

This is the story of my family. Growing up my Iraqi family never spoke of what happened to them and to this day deny their Arab identity. Ethnically I am an Arab Jew and I’m proud to descend from the tradition of Baghdadi excellence.

You know that the Jews killed your god you know that ?!
