Around 12 minutes, I get a huge E.T. vibe, where E.T. watches the city from the forest right after he missed his motherships departure. And the whole road gives me the Close Encounter of the Third Kind, the scene where they chase a spaceships and the policeman says, there glued to the roooaaad, and then they fly of the road and so does he in his policecar.
Out of all your videos in L.A., these two hikes i enjoyed the most. I can only imagine the effort you had to make, but they were very serene to my eyes. Made my mind to quiet for a couple of hours.
If he does that, he should have his driving test done in NY already and change to CA DL if he plans to stay long. In the LA Metro area, he should rent a car to driving around because there are some places where public transportation has to pay.
AKs endurance is tremendous . I saw the vid of him hiking up to the Hollywood sign . He takes a brief rest in this vid and continues on to Griffith Observatory. But then as I saw on a previous vid , he can walk the entire length of Manhattan with only a brief stop for a cookie and water . no bathroom break .
Wouldn't have expected this area to be so beautiful. Wonderful sight from around the Sign. Great fun to, so to speak, travel with you, as always. Thanks!
1:30:17 - In the late 70's I went to the Observatory to hear Dark Side Of The Moon played while images of Space were portrayed on a screen. It was a rite of passage in Southern California !
On viewing this for a second time even more impressive . In the NYC walks AK can occasionaly stop and rest during waiting for the trafic lights to change , hear mostly non stop walking a narrow dirt road between a cliff and and drop off going hundreds of feet down . All in the LA city limits .
Watched the whole thing. Loved the way you randomly rooted on that cyclist at 1:19:05, "You can do it, alright!". He replies, "Thank-you." Nice man. Keep it up!
What a feat Ak. I lived in Los Feliz 4 8 years and just went up to the Observatory. Btw Malibu, Cahunga are terms used by the original people who lived in this area. These were the Gabrielinos. I have been seeing your walking tours and I am totally impressed.
Yo, Action Kid. I just bought a year on Patreon of your channel. I especailly liked your walk last week up to the Hollywood sign. Now I don't have to do it!
That was an amazing adventure that day. We both did amazing feats that day too! You hiked to the Griffith Observatory and I went to Jonesboro from Stockbridge, GA and back. Pretty parallel 👍 Great work my friend!
You are in far better physical shape than I could have imagined even after watching so many of your videos, I know it was hot this week. Thank for doing so much in SoCal and sharing!!
@56:44 the chatty stranger afraid of bees misses obvious advantage of putting his bottle down. People for some reason like to touch their bottles up against the water spigot opening. Funny how the bees drink the water going into your bottle, AK. Nice capture with the closeup. I thought they were yellow jackets, but more likely some kind of bee
If you like hiking with cliff side views of the ocean palos verdes is a hidden gem. I recommend visiting Terranea resorts there. Also Crystal Cove Beach state park in Orange County.
What a hike......wow! The Hollywood sign has always been so intriguing to me. Thank you for all the great videos from LA (Cali). I am really enjoying them. Have a great time and stay safe, Ak!
AK has got some amazing walking endurance; must be from all those years of walking up the subway stairs in NYC. The Hollywood Hills are no match for him!
Hi AK, major props for this epic hike from the Hollywood sign to Griffith Observatory in the hot weather!! 🔥 Really admire your dedication in showing quality content! 🤗
Hope you can make it to nearby Santa Barbara one Sunday for the art show and wonderful venues along the beach, pier and State Street… it’s a lot closer than San Diego and more compact and charming
Yep, SB probably has the best urban design of a socal city imo (not too dense but not too spread out, can bike around a lot of the city), much cleaner and nicer looking than LA, and mixed with a very scenic natural landscape but it's unfortunately pretty small and essentially fixed size at this point so it's hard to justify trying to move there if you're single, excluding those there for UCSB. Also not really affordable for many either.
Be proud, AK. Sorry, but I'm driving. Lol. You now know how places are spread apart in LA. I think only some from the east coast can walk far distances in the west. In Los Angeles, CA - "Drive" (or hitch a ride or Uber).
Its full of people now! last year when everything was on lock-down it was better! Now everywhere you go there is like 20+ people every 10 feet. Ugh! at least I enjoyed it while it lasted!
I wanted you to pour some water on the ground for the bees! Probably would have gotten them away from the fountain for a while, too. Amazing walk. Curious about what that section is down below the mountain, with the round building and the green grass.
I dont understand why some belittle Griffith park saying it will never measure up to new york's central park. To me Griffith Park is a million times better than Central Park, can you hiking in Central Park ? NO. Can you go anywhere in central.park and forget you're in the middle of a busy city? NO . Specially in the part we're you so see people horseback riding and you can't help but imagine that's how California looked like back in the 1800's when settlers came here looking for gold. It's things like that that make Griffith. Park so fascinating
Awesom video !That’s a long long walk on a Hot day ! Omg I though from captain roost somewhere there’s a trail to get to the sign gees omg you have come down from observatory to the main road Los Felix street?
Wow, what a workout Actionkid excellent work on ur great hike I’m glad u made it to the James Dean memorial, hopefully next time you ride a horse with a cowboy hat 🤠👍 yeeeehaw
What an amazing video. I was there with you in spirit. Your feet must have been aching after that. I will do that trek one day soon.

Walking Hollywood to Griffith park? That’s a loooong walk in the heat.
Yes! It was hotter than I expected.
ActionKid is really having a field day with LA. He really should move to LA for sure. It's like kid in the candy store for him!
If he does that, he should have his driving test done in NY already and change to CA DL if he plans to stay long.
In the LA Metro area, he should rent a car to driving around because there are some places where public transportation has to pay.
There is just so much to do here in the LA area!
The weather is great there…low humidity! I live in Florida
Born and bred SoCal boy. We would love to have you out here.

It takes a lot to do these hikes, especially in the heat. I should have drank more water!

I love Griffith park . Amazing scenery and hiking trails
That is my bucket list next year Hollywood hike.
57:45 I think you helped that bee get some water haha!
That walk was a piece of cake. I am not even tired.
Watched the whole thing. Loved the way you randomly rooted on that cyclist at 1:19:05, "You can do it, alright!". He replies, "Thank-you." Nice man.
Keep it up!
The bees are thirsty, too.

this is soooo much fun for someone who is moving there. You do an amazing job. I can't believe you walked that far!!!
I read about that horse stable, that you could rent horses and go to the sign that way!
Awesome!
ActionKid is now HollywoodMan! 😁
But on a more serious note, thank you for showing us around Los Angeles and keep up the good work Ken!
You are a tough dude, thanks for all your hard work. California sure does need some rain and a little paint on that railing

You just have to go a little north to the San Gabriel mountains and get pretty empty trails
😎😎😍 thanks for the stream and taking us along with you
Every landscape I see in southern Cal reminds me of either M.A.S.H. or the Flintstones
More great walking ActionKid!
Action Kid 💪💪
Only in movies i watch some view of that place, now its real on utube, nice.
Your LA trip is epic!!
Very Impressive Walk !! Thanks Again, ActionKid !!! Stay Safe In LA My Friend
Nice but you need a hat and sunglasses !😀
Great video, congratulations !!

Well done Kid. So proud of your epic hike! There's a saying in the UK " You're the bee's knees! " 😂
I've heard that before!
Look at you! Have to watch later...thank you AK! P.S. I miss New York 😝❤️
NYC misses him .
Nice AK! I've only walked to that observatory in GTA V. Your tour looks even more realistic 😅

Wonderful journey! How hot was it during your trip?
Star rise up in Hollywood 😄🤣
Got to love LA. I live in Pennsylvania. California definitely is one of my go to Spots for vacations.
The bees were thirsty, I regret nobody gave them a bit of water
Me too. Poor bees , so thirsty. We need the bees. Take care of them.
👍
Close my eyes when you were coming around the curve
Good movie, Hollywood Land.
makes you wonder if hummingbirds perception is also 53 times per second faster making most of us slowww.
Oh my , I wouldn’t need a umbrella to block some of that sun .I’m not a true hiker lol
So nice Action kid😊
Great video
It would’ve been nice to if the bee would’ve put some honey in your water bottle 🙌🏽
If I park on the street at observatory and then hike to Hollywood sign do I pay for parking? It looked like you have to pay
I’ll find a nice day to do this. So did u get a ride to the Hollywood sign? If so where’s the best place to get drop off?
1:19:01 AK still has strength to encourage the cyclist Love it
That's a long hot climb. Watch for snakes.
57:45, drinking with the bees.
Nice railings calif
oh wow still in ca having a great exspirence
I think you should get like a DJI stabilizer? For cellphones.
Can you go to MT Lee Summit by bike?
Is there any snakes by the trail
1:05:10 that’s not downtown la, it’s century city.
No Place Like LA❤️💙
AK is the best of the best. I want his feet and shoes brand . Wow !
Do they charge to get up there
