Hi Bobby, very cool guitar! The last Chibson I ordered in May was a Slash replica and was really happy with the quality. Liked the "Wait" intro at 7:08 🤘👍🎸
Long story short, a con man, for all intents and purposes, pawned 2 of these on to my mother years ago. Last year the guy dies, of course without ever paying the debt of thousands of bucks. So my mom shows me these 2, one is even "signed" by Zakk himself. I was heartbroken when I actually started to do the research on them. I would have never sold them even if they were real but now that I know I can't they have just become part of my rotation. They both play exceptionally well, the fake EMGs sound honestly great. I am, in January, going to deck one of them out. New pick ups, new tuners, the whole nine. Then compare them back-to-back. Great vid! Love this kind of content!
the Chinese copies can be a mixed bag of luck of problems, some of them are great and all you have to do is put a set of pick ups and some have lots of problems- I re-painted my guitar- check out this video link ua-cam.com/video/PIWURjYZuT8/v-deo.html for under $300 they are ok- keep me posted if you happen to get another one- thanks for checking out the video - Bobby
Gibsons don't have scarf-joints. It's a one-piece neck with a severe (17 degree) headstock angle. Most imports have a scarf-joint and less severe (usually around 14 degrees) headstock angle. And those gold pickup ring screws on imports always bother me. Gibson always uses black pickup ring screws with black pickup rings.
Thanks for checking out the video, if you are handy and you can do some upgrades your self and you can get one of these guitars for under $200 you can make it playable, but if you are not good on doing tweeking upgrades, I would not get one, I would suggest that you get an Epiphone like the one I did a video on -see the link ua-cam.com/video/oAU6ojGuouk/v-deo.html
I always wanted to get one to trick out but I just pulled the trigger on a new Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s. So much for that idea.
the Gibson standard is a nice guitar , best of luck, Thank you for checking out the video
The tune o matic screws can be either way. My studio came with them on the inside and my custom had them on the outside.

Great video Bobby. However, I think they are more commonly referred to as ‘Chibsons’ as opposed to ‘Jibsons’. Hopefully that doesn’t offend anyone!
Thanks Martin, I will fixed the description and I put up a new thumbnail- thank you for checking out the video and the correct name!!
