The pain is real! I really appreciated your tutorial and watching you attempt a trim definitely made me decide to just live with the aesthetic being more bunched at the bottom. 😂😂
Loved your comment I BEAT YOU! I think had you first tied something to that loose string first like a pencil with tape and not lost it you would have been ok. But i give you credit for showing the mess you initially created and how you solved it. Only think funnier would have your wife YELLING AT YOU FOR SCREWING UP in the beginning LOLOL
Short comment: Where can the plastic handles be purchased??????? Long comment: We installed these all throughout our house in the last three years. We have replaced almost all the downstairs windows with off the shelf new Pella windows. We then installed these Allen Roth cellular shades. At first we were really happy. Then the plastic pull down handle broke on our upstairs 42" cellular shade and the side plastic pieces fall out constantly due to poor fitment. -Lowes DOES NOT CARRY the plastic handles -The manufacturer DOES NOT CARRY them on their own website, at least not that I could find A Lowe's employee said that people come in EVERY DAY asking for replacement plastic handles. I would like to start paying these companies in a form of money that randomly breaks with no way to fix it, or becomes obsolete before they can deposit it so they can experience their business practices first hand :) Amazon has a bunch of inferior plastic options for sale that people say breaks within a few months because the plastic quality is inferior. Any suggestions?????
"And this is why there are no directions for trimming the length of the blinds" More like "This is why you don't bother changing the length of the blinds"
Even when using an 80T new blade in my chop saw, the shade material melted and fused in places, making it a royal PITA to expand the shade cells properly without tearing the shade material, which is very fragile and tears easily. After messing up two shades, I’m switching to a hack saw for the last one.
I’m a master at doing things wrong so your video was a welcome sight to see I’m not alone in this world. Your video gave me the courage to try this. Thank you!
This was incredibly helpful. Thank you so much. I was able to install three of these on a 9' wide window. You gave me the know-how and confidence I needed.
But you didn’t say if the blind frame was made of plastic or metal. Will the chop saw cut through a metal frame? I have an aluminum one that needs cutting.
I can only wish that the process went so easily for me. Got the same shade and same brackets that are installed as yours are. The shade won't snap into place no matter what I do. Very frustrating. ** Update ** I finally got it to work after making a small correction. I initially installed the bracket screws horizontally, driving them into the face of the frame around the window. This, apparently, allows the top leg of the bracket to flex too much, and the shade would slide off the top clip when trying to rotate it into the bottom clip. Removed the screws and drove them up vertically into the top of the mounting bracket, making it much stiffer. This change allowed me to pop those puppies right into the brackets, no problem. Yay. While I'm typing, I'll sheepishly admit that I accidently installed one bracket upside down. Obviously, that shade wouldn't clip in, but it was an easy fix once I realized what I had done. I gave myself a "well, duh!" for that one..
Professional installer here you never want installed onto molding you will damage the molding, and when he was cutting the blind, he damaged the material and probably fixed it for the new shot
Thanks I needed this video. I will have to hang my blinds on the outer wood frame. May I ask what type of heating system you have the runs along the baseboard?
I have the identical baseboard heating elements and they are the bane of my existence. They are in every room and keep "collapsing", impossible to keep them together with all the multiple pieces intact. Like a game of Jenga I can't win! Doesn't help when pets crash into them and they all collapse. So maybe do an instructional video on those?! :)

🤣 happy to help and at least maybe give you a laugh.
Hey man, you did a good job, even with the snafu, that teaches us something to avoid
Great educational video showing exactly how to hang these shades. Thank you! After watching your video, I had mine up within 20 minutes!
This video was invaluable as I worked to install the same shade. Really appreciate the time you took to show the step by step. Thanks!!
Great tutorial. Easy to follow and listen. Much appreciated 🙌🏾
🤭Where there's a will, there's a way. Thanks for the heads up on the shortening, Just gonna skip that step.
Yeah, you're pretty much the only fix-it person I want to watch. Very relatable. (Favorite part -- "Don't cut these down. There's a reason."
😁👍 thanks, Kristen. Haha
Very helpful as we are getting ready to hang 10 of these. The satisfaction smile at the end was a proud moment lol thanks for sharing 👍

Thank you so much for the video. And I’m happy I stayed till the end. When you lost the string I said ohhhhh no I’m not doing all that now lmao !!

You. Are. Awesome!!! Fun to watch- and very informative. Thanks for your information! I'm subscribed for more fun. :D
Can you use a regular mitre saw?
Very helpful, and I enjoy your sharing your thinking process as you go. I look forward to your further contributions…cheers!
Thanks for this video, it made the whole process so much easier and less intimidating 😊

All my projects go sideways at some point 😂😂😂. Just keep moving forward and fixing what you can. You're good at that!
I need to cut my 23in down to 20. Curious to why manual only says up to 1in each side.
Never given up . Love your work. Congratulations on the twins
😁 thank you. I see you have found my super secret 2nd channel I just started. Make sure you subscribe! Thanks for watching! 😁👍
Great video! Thanks for including the length part.... entertaining and helpful 😊
That was awesome I was so afraid to cut mine so I didn’t. I’m not laughing 🤭
Thank you for a great -easy tutorial ! I needed to see how the bottom fit into the blind. Perfect how-to. Will refer to all your tutorials.
All done.

Hey! We all have those "well, duh" moments. 😂. Glad that you were able to fix it!

But I do gotta give him credit. It was a pretty good video and install.
thank you for these easy to follow instructions!

Hey! It's oil forced hot water. 😃

Thank you!
I don't have a saw. I just removed the end clips...added tape...and installed

Thanks buddy!
Thank you!
