The official name for those half-knob, half-slider UI elements is a "gauge." They have an article on their website about how they settled on the design.

I've gone an almost full 360 with regard to plugins. Of course in the beginning I only had the stock plugins (of Logic Pro). Then I got a bunch of plugins (including Ozone). Now I'm back to using almost only stock plugins with only couple of exceptions - Soothe2, NeoVerb, and Tonal Balance Control. And I'd say Soothe2 is the only one that really matters.
Same, the more one understands the less stuff is needed to achieve the same result, it’s more efficient

Great video man! So glad you gain matched a plugin for A/B thank god, im so sick of "this plugin just makes it sound so much better" when all it does is add 1-2dB of volume.
still with ozone 9 standard; honestly I use mostly the master assistant; it provides decent results and if you're in a hurry it's great. I'll usually maybe add an exciter and imager (the imager can go on individual tracks though; it's a free tool). It's a bit hard to see a clear benefit from upgrading though, maybe I'll wait one of those crazy deals they do on black friday. Advanced version price is nuts; I'll get by without the clarity module. also I do get a deal on standard; not on advanced
I have ozone 9 standard aswell, it already does everything I need honestly
I got into izotope when ozone 8 released. over the years i got most of them and they are used pretty often. i upgraded, when ozone 9 came out but since then i really didn't feel the need to upgrade anymore. the suite already does everything it needs to in almost any scenario.
they are simply adding features to legitimize the updates and i am not sure how to feel about it. i will consider when the scaling actually scales the ui

I already have those Fabfilter plugins you mentioned, so I am probably not the target audience for izotope. Like you said lowend focus was a mid product, because that truly should have been addressed in the mixing phase by sculpting specific frequencies of each instrument.
yes but also not alwaaaays, if that makes sense. theres a continuity that comes with doing it this way as well. its not for every song, but it is effective.

Master Plan and gold clip. Fab Filter pro Q3, and Saturn are by far the best two individual plugins out of the fabfilter lineup with volcano close behind imo.

I bought advanced 9 then I got standard 10 in Komplete. The upgrade to 11 is now £99 but you just know 12 is around the corner with another £150 upgrade. I’m kinda seeing through Ozone. I think I’m ready to do it all manually and learn that way.

I think you should call those buttons/faders 'nipples' or 'nubbins'. Seems to me like that would annoy marketing/product management the most.

I've used Gulfoss for curve shaping by side chaining pink noise (or brown, or 4.5 or whatever). Works well.
I really do think you must have hit your head if you think it’s cool to make fun of people’s physical appearances. Maybe he is tired bc he is has been working his ass off (something I doubt you do) or maybe that’s just how he looks and you are a bully. What’s pretty clear is you put very little work in on this video and also you sound like you could use a nap too or maybe that’s the way you talk, all sleepy like you can barely try to get the words out so we can understand. "Clarity" did what I perceive as the effect those color blind glasses have on people. Every element has a small border frequency wise to the element next to it. It creates a much more distinct sound stage and gives the ability to really hear what you are focusing on that much easier.
The difference being that those glasses usually do jack for the people and are just footing on weirdly massive viral PR
I got a great deal to upgrade to production suite 5.2 a few weeks ago, and received a $49 coupon to upgrade to 6,.I was happy enough with that.
I definitely would be willing to pay a bit to upgrade to 11, but the $299 price tag when I already own Ozone 10 Advanced is definitely too steep for me to not just stick with that.
My update was 164 euro.
Just wait to half year and get it 50% off or less have patience save dollars

I dont know what yall going through but I upgraded from music production suite 5 to 6 for 49$ i agree that most of these companies are money hungry and dropping products at break neck speed but Izotope got this one right

I own Ozone 10 and the upgrade is over half the cost of buying a new license. There are a handful of new modules and features. Makes no sense. Upgrading should be like 49€ or something.
I also thought it was a bug until I added it to my cart and then it gave me the discount. Costs me €169 from 10advanced to 11advanced
IZotope plugins is pretty dope. It’s a shame with their upgrade surprise pricing tho.

I've bought the Music Production Bundle 5.2. Then they shipped the Music Production Bundle 6 with the new Ozone and Nectar. I had to pay 49$ to upgrade, which I find reasonable. But, indeed, I found it odd that at the same moment, the upgrade of just Ozone was 199... So, with the bundle, not only I get all the upgrades, but it's way cheaper. ;) It's probably a bug though

sometimes a good master chain is one Glue Compressor or one Saturator make everything big and loud before the master, its 2023 ya know lol (this is an electronic music producer speaking) no one is right or wrong..right?

As an Izotope master, which would you recommend? RX10 or Nectar 4 for Voice work?
Just voice. Narration, singing, yelling, character, etc. RX10 has the ability to find actual words in the audio, but Nectar has noise removal. I could not find noise removal in RX10.
I find how many mastering engineers refuse to touch stems, as they don't mix, but now having the ability to bend their own rules quite ironic. Just like when someone sends loads of money to perfect their room and speakers and then buy a laptop to work on.
so not worth upgrading if u on ozone 10 and the upgrade price is not a bug!

i wish they just had them as separate plugins, at least as an option, so if you want just one part you could buy just that one. would also make the different versions irrelevant, or replace them with bundles.
Vintage mode sounds great with neo soul, blues and gospel.
In the industry the technical term for those is "knobler".
I stopped at 9. The chase for the last ozone version is ridiculous.

One of the best and most honest reviews about O11, definitely the funniest and most entertaining on UA-cam. I have Ozone 11. I upgraded the Music Production Suite, which I always do, and got a good deal for the plugins included, although I don't use all of them.
Not only that, but I really love Ozone 11, it makes mastering easy for me with all the tools in one plugin.
I find it strange that Delta is used in mastering? Unless de easing idk I feel like A/B ing does the job mastering
it can help to hear if you are distorting, or how much you are distorting, or what it is that you are removing / adding.
I bought the Ozone 9 some years ago. After a while I just used the master assistant for the pupose of using ONLY the dynamic EQ find the resonnances. Maybe I`ll buy the "Reso" plugin from Mastering The Mix, then I won`t use Ozone at all 😂
I got upgrade price from 10 Advanced to 11 Advanced of 99$. But I upgraded to 10 Advanced in August so maybe thats just for people who recently upgraded.
At this point they could have released a stem isolation effect or module but I guess they really want to leave that for those who buy RX. Either that or they just give up on their algorithm beating Serato Sample.
I mean, you know this, but them sending a free plugin to any UA-camr doesn't cost them anything and just gets them free marketing from your work. You should be charging them for doing in-depth reviews like this. You made a 15 minute video ad for free basically.

i liked using the standalone version of ozone now and then for certain things and this is absent in both 10 and 11, about to try the trial of 11 anyway. also, i'm still in my jammies, it's still in the a.m., i'm in canaduh, and not caffinated yet, and my neighbours already think i'm weird, so i'm not going out there looking for the ship.
I tune in to Weaver because the guy cracks me up..and i am not an audio engineer ....wink wink...
Blah... if you have tinnitus like I do, you aren't going to hear any of those "subtleties". Plus, whatever I mix a song to, someone else is going to want to mix it differently, even if I had great hearing.

I own ozone 10 standard it came with Komplete 14 ultimate collectors edition and to update to ozone 11 they want $149!!
That’s the normal price.
I also own all there other plugins and only elements rx10 all the others are top versions but izotope doesn’t recognise my loyalty and it works out more expensive to update than buy full versions.
