Freddie mercury would be thrilled and love it. He never wanted his songs to be covered the same. He wanted artist to be creative and do there own thing. He was big on that. He also covered songs his own way too. I loved it.

Everyone, you have to understand that the purpose of this show is to sing a song of the past and make it their own style. Before performing she had mentioned that she was nervous on how the song would turn out with the reggae included. This is her style and I'm happy for her

SoHyang has an exceptional technique but she cant really deliver emotions very well.She tends to exaggerat her voice to an extend where it gets a little annoying hence I dont really like it when she sings emotional ballads.

Why is everyone hating on the beat box part? It's amazing! The entire song itself is amazing and this recreation of the original is really good! So much effort put in! Usually I hate recreations of classics but this is amazing including the beatbox!
It's good. I don't think it hurts the performance melodically speaking. However, it takes away from the emotion of the song. That could be why other people are hating on it. They're not wrong.

Because it's different and most people have a hard time getting out of their comfort zone. That's why the most popular stuff are the least original and most re-used and/or copied. People use their standard as judging criteria instead of realizing it's nothing more than a handicap for the mind.

But for me and alot of other people the rap part sinply didnt fit. This song is really emotional for alot of people and that rap part kinda destroys that emotion until it gets back to normal singing. The most interesting and great cover of Bohemian Rhapsody. The lead singer has a beautiful and powerful voice.
She did very well. There were a couple of pronounciation errors, but she pronounced at least 90% correctly. I wish I could sing in Korean that well.

the aimof this show is to show classic songs in a different light. There would have bene no point in doing this as Mercury had done. That would be just mere copying. This is a TRUE cover, where the artist performs it in her own style, instead of copying the original.

A lot of the people in the comments section are pissing me off -_- i wish some of yall could learn to appreciate more than one thing at a time and realize you can praise one person without putting down another (this goes for both kpop fans and classic rock fans).
So here's my opinion (I'm big kpop and classic rock fan, and my favorite bands are queen and seventeen): she did amazing!! Her vocal range is fantastic, and i loved the supporting vocals. Maybe she got a word wrong here and there, but it wasn't that noticeable, plus her pronunciation is really great for someone who's native language is not English. Besides, you have to keep in mind that this performance is for a Korean audience, not an audience fluent in English, so tiny mistakes here and there go unnoticed. The only thing i didn't like was the beatboxing; i thought it was badly placed within the song.
This was amazing!!!! This is the only cover of bohemian rhapsody that sounded great. Not even in America have I heard anyone sing it this well.

I am not Korean nor does my heritage show any ties to Korea. However, she is hands down my new favorite singer, even the Korean stuff that doesn't even come with subtitles. I'll lap it up like a dog slurps up water. It is an honor to be alive for her career. She is truly a gift of God and I thank her and her parents for having her pursue music instead of accounting for example.

its called a critics.. beatbox is so amazing if the one done it right but this is A Bohemian Rhapsody, you can't put a beatbox in a such skill-full song.. She might be not bad at all but this song is not right for that beatbox.
I accept and respect your opinion. But it is a kind of art to express a different and new interpretation. Someone might find it good and others may be not. But there is no definition of a good music or bad music. It is all about personal taste.
I personally don't like beatbox and rap but i find it interesting and good, that they tried something new.
i've got no problem against son seungyeon's amazing vocals nor beatboxing in general but i don't see why they couldn't do the piano thing in the original and do the thing with the beatboxing. i thought about what you said about the smoother flow but still feel like the do+6 arpeggio piano would've done better imo. not too happy with the upbeat swing that kind of came afterward either. but yeah like you said pros put it together what do i know

I am old and has loved music all my life, but has not found anyone whose Voice and way of singing has captivated me completely . ( Btw, I can't find the video of her singing For a Long Time After which is one of my favorites.) In the waiting room, she converses well and has sense of humor. I also notice that she has a very respectful stance before and after each performance. Great great great.
