I don't really agree with your recommendation of all the chemicals, but I'm completely on board with people needing to plan for any emergency that comes up with their pet. I'm in animal rescue, and I learned really quickly to add the question "What would you do if a medical issue came up that cost $800?". Because a lot of people just don't think or plan on things like that. Plus it helps me understand what kind of position they are in to take on the responsibility of a pet.

Preach 👏🏼🙌🏼 !! People are all about instant gratification. They do not take responsibility for their actions and those they affect. This covers all kinds of realms(children, pets, other human beings in general) and it gets tiring seeing it. Thank you for calling it like it is.

We have a 20-1/2 year old cat, a 14-year-old border collie, a 14-year-old cat (who is healthy), a 7-year-old Australian shepherd with seizure disorder (that began at age 4 shortly after being given Trifexis....another thing that we couldn't have predicted), a 6-year-old Havanese who is healthy, and a 2-year-old Australian shepherd who is very healthy. When you have senior animals that you really had no idea how to budget for because you've never been in that circumstances, it becomes a bit difficult. Our border collie is on medication for his thyroid, as is my old kitty. Our border collie is also on medication for his arthritis that began at an early age due to vaccine damage I'm certain, since it started within a week of vaccines and is documented in his chart. At my age, there are a lot of things that can go wrong all at once. And I must say that ALL these pets were VERY HEALTHY BEFORE BEING OVER-VACCINATED or given poisonous chemicals for various things like heartworms/fleas, etc.!! We have spent literally ALL of our savings this year alone on vet's errors! We lost our beautiful 12-1/2 year old kitty on January 31st 3 days after surgery for bladder stones. She became very ill very fast. Too many details to post, but basically we ended up at an ER after a 2nd surgery and our kitty was literally handed over to us because the clinic was closing, and she was in critical condition. We had to drive her an hour away to an ER where she was allowed to be taken off all comfort measures after I had specifically asked them to keep her on it till we got there!! Ten minutes after being asked, she was taken off the machine and left to "breathe on her own". She was having seizures and was left alone in an oxygen tank with NO COMFORT MEASURES IN PLACE. We were told she was "brain dead" before we got there. As soon as she heard my voice, she tried to sit up!!! She tried over & over reaching for me with her little paw and began having another seizure. I was screaming for someone to come help her. NO ONE CAME!! NO ONE CAME TO COMFORT US, to speak with us, or to check on her. She had another horrific seizure and died in front of us helplessly standing there after we CLEARLY saw she was NOT BRAIN DEAD! Then 3 days later our 13-1/2 year old border collie was given SIX VACCINES at once (DHLPP & Rabies). We trusted the vet and didn't give a 2nd thought to him getting those vaccines. Two days later, he was bleeding profusely from his nose and was beginning a downward spiral that has lasted 8-1/2 months!! We have had him to 4 different regular vets and lastly an ER because of yet another infection that he is unable to fight off. We now know that he should have never been given any more vaccines after he has had reactions EVERY SINGLE TIME throughout most of his life. We have spent TONS of money on our pets and we are constantly being told what great pet parents we are because we DO take good care of them. We had to take him to OSU for an assessment with an internist because of the nosebleeds and upper respiratory infection that wouldn't clear up and began TWO DAYS AFTER VACCINES. They did a rhinoscopy, CT of the head, neck & chest, many panels of blood work have been done, and more and more diagnostics. He was found to have "idiopathic" lymphoplasmacytic rhinitis. Of course, we know that came from the vaccines. Will anyone admit that? Probably NOT! We thought we had that under control (thank God there was no cancer found), and we were trying to get him stronger after that. Then in June we took him back to his original vet (we still love her and respect her). He had to have more blood work since he has hypothyroidism that began shortly after vaccines several years ago along with many, many skin infections, ear infections, etc. He began having severe arthritis at age 4-1/2 also. All these things requiring expensive medications, mind you. When we took him back in June, we found he had dropped 20 lbs between March and June!!! Throughout the summer, he continued to get weaker in his back legs and started having neurological symptoms. Back to OSU to have a neurology assessment with yet again a battery of expensive diagnostics only to get NO DIAGNOSIS!! Then Labor Day weekend to the ER, which was no picnic OR cheap visit. Thank God they were able to save his life, but now we are here with a dog that has had his last year on earth probably that has suffered immeasurably and so have we ALL BECAUSE the vaccine companies won't admit that these things are caused by THEIR VACCINES!! Vets are not aware all the time that this is NOT RARE!! Therefore, neither are the pet parents!! Now through the discovery of homeopathic remedies, we have managed to get him to be able to stand on his own (sometimes), walk with a little "jump start", eat and drink on his own again, and he is beginning to be VERY ALERT and getting back to himself. Do you think ANYONE could have predicted this set of circumstances?? This isn't to mention things in my personal life that have changed financially after 20+ years of having pets. Please don't assume that people shouldn't ask for help and look down on them when they do. It's people like you saying things like THIS that puts a hamper on those of us who legitimately NEED assistance. I am a very independent and self sufficient 59-year-old lady, but come on!! Had it not been for the greediness of BIG PHARMA my pets wouldn't have had to suffer, and I wouldn't have spent all my savings on vets' "F"-ups!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so sorry you've had to deal with all of that. You have me in tears... 😢
Thank God for good pet parents like you!

In other words your saying people should be almost millionaires to have pets? Pet insurance only covers emergencies and not everyone can get approved for things like care credit. I’ve been trying for years. Vet care has become outrageously expensive. People are going in for exams and basic vaccinations and coming out for with a $400-$500 bill. If everyone who couldn’t afford pets chose not to have them, they would end up in shelters and be put down. I just think it’s better for them to be in a loving home with someone who does their best, than to have that fate. 🤷🏻‍♀️
