Thank you for this video! It has helped me and my shih tzu with dementia and arthritis get some sleep the last two nights. I only used lavender and lemongrass the first night and just a few drops of lavender the second. She went straight to bed both nights and slept until I woke her the following mornings. Before she’d been getting me up between 5-6:30am every day.

I've read that oils being used on animals should be diluted using a carrier oil?

Same here...due to the potency of the oils...especially when you consider their size as opposed to humans. I'd love to learn more about this tho. One of my Pomeranians has a neurological issue due to having some fluid get into his spine. We have no idea what happened, but he has been on Prednisone and Cyclosporine for the last couple of years. Breaks my heart with worry regarding his internal organs. He's not paralyzed anymore, but he does drag his right font foot due to the neurological issue. I'm afraid to take him off of his meds and wanted to try some oils to see if they'd help...but I don't want to OD him on them...would love more information on this!!!

That depends on what you're using the oils for...to apply a drop of peppermint, for example, on their belly or basil on the ear, would be too strong. Using them on the hair like in this (awesome) video, no carrier oil is needed!

CPTG (Certified Pure Tested Grade) The oils she is using do not contain added fillers or harmful contaminants. Just pure and authentic. I love these oils by Doterra but do advise to dilute certain essential oils with carrier oils at 1% for canine use.

My boxer has med resistant idiopathic epilepsy. Three meds and they weren’t controlling them. My friend made me a salve with Frankincense cedarwood and lavender. He’s almost 40 days no seizures. He never went past two or three weeks. It’s amazing.

Did not kill the dog. Yay. Actually, I 'treated' her last night and then didn't give her a 'happy' pill until late this afternoon. That was good. Hopefully, this will not just make her feel good but, will turn things around.... we'll see. Saving $$$ on happy pills is still a good thing.

It looks like you are using the oils directly from the bottles, does that mean you do not have to dilute them?

Oh golly the comments weren't showing up at first (something seems slow with loading tonight) So I searched your website which seems down, Yelp says you're closed, linked in page doesn't work etc- so hopefully you will get this anyway however- you mention wintergreen being good for pain- that's true for humans- but everything I've read says it's not ok for animals...especially dogs... so just wanted to let you know. Glad to see you are using great quality oils though!

if you have to chase them around the room there's a reason for it.. just saying they might not like the scent of it or what is providing for him or her the relaxing part you can do that to a dog with just getting her or him is sit there because she or he wants to and do that and love it

It's best to do this in the dark.. silence is very calming as for anything..
I do mine at night after I've exercised my dog and had and I have had a long day.
They do love it I do it for about 5 full - max 8 min with some waves and therapeutic relaxing meditation tones in background (youtube).

I thot we were supposed to dilute with a carrier oil. Be careful. Yes and some dogs don't have ample fur to protect them from full blown essential oils. Yikes, I cannot watch this. They lick their fur, too. Oh DEAR..........bye

Hi, my sister uses doTERRA oils on her kids and I'm thinking about trying it on my dog. My dog can be very nervous and timid, she also suffers from arthritis and mild hip dysplasia, which she now is on medicine daily for this, she's a 2 & half year old golden retriever, what oils would you recommend using on her?

Dogs have a very sensitive sense of smell. I can't imagine exposing them to highly concentrated hydrocarbon solvents like essential oils. It seems cruel. Plus they are lighter body weight than people. Imagine dosing yourself with 20 times the amount, how would you feel? Probably sick.

Bone broth! Make your own. I'm not exactly how - I would probably use a crockpot and on low for 16 to 24 hours to get the healing bone marrow! But to be sure, research everything you can.

I got to 2 minutes in this video and had to stop watching. As a massage therapist and advocate of holistic care, I can not trust anyone that states the use of medical grade essential oils over oils purchased from the health food stores. The oils and "technique" you are using are from Youngliving and are marketed as being 100% therapeutic.
There is, absolutely, no difference in some of the other "therapeutic" oils found on the market today but cost a ton more. Also, the method of use on your pet in the video is not accepted or supported by the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy. Unless you are a certified aromatherapist you should not be putting essential oils undiluted directly on the skin as adverse reactions may occur.
I am not saying your method does not work for that particular dog. However, as a healthcare provider for animals, I am surprised you are suggesting these oils in this way for use on all dogs without a disclaimer at the start of your video.
I urge anyone watching this video to do your own research before using the "raindrop method"

Sorry to say but I stopped watching when you said medical grade quality, raindrop technique and don't buy from health shops.
As a certified clinical aromatherapist, I need to advise the public that there is no such thing as a medical grade essential oil as essential oils are not regulated.
When purchasing an essential oil you want to aim to purchase one that is 100% pure and is certified organic.
You want to know what the chemo-type is, its main constituents, botanical species and country of origin.
Two, the raindrop therapy technique is a trademark technique of Young Living and is a technique that IS NOT RECOMMENDED by ANY professional aromatherapist organization such as IFA and IAAMA or by clinically trained aromatherapists.
The Essential oils you get in your healthfood store can be of a high quality, you just need to maje sure its 100% pure essential oil and certified organic.
Wintergreen and Lemongrass should NEVER be used undiluted as they can cause not only skin sensitization, but also cause contact dermatitis, rashes, burns and sever injury.
Also pets are more sensitive to essential oils and you should never exceed more than 3 drops of oil. What I recommend you do is add 3 drops of an oil mixed with 6 mls of carrier oil and sprinkly this moxture lightly onto a natural bristle dog brush.
Introduce the smell to your pet to see how they react, and if the animal is fine with it, the brush their coat. Once done, you can add a little of the oil to your hands and massage your pet.

@@spaghettibaghetti4135 Aussie is right. You have to be careful with animals and children using essential oils. Some essential oils can raise high blood pressure in adults. We all need to be informed. Is not personal.

    • @patriotsongs

While I agree with most of what you said, "pure" does not mean high quality. I apoke to reps from a company that imports all the plants (blossoms, leaves, etc) for their aromatherapy into the U.S. That means by the time they get here, they are old and have lost much of the volatile oils, and those that remain are most likely degraded. So "pure", but not something I'd buy.
