Mr Depp is on point here, as a person who was diagnosed with cancer at 15, I share the same idea.
While I recovered from it, and years passed, my parents never completely recovered from the experience.
As an adult now I can see what he's saying about kids being strong and parents slowly dying, it brings back strong memories.

My BFF has worked in ped oncology. She says the kids are always "ready to go" before the parents are. I can't even imagine.
I was run over by a car in 1989 and in hospital for months when I was 12. Only years later did I realise and understand how much my family went through, that I just didn't.

I feel like you can see the pain in his eyes when he's talking. In his own personal life we know now.... and also in the life of those he's seeking to uplift who are hurting. I wish I could have even just five minutes to try to encourage him as much as he has so many others.

It's interesting that when Amber & Ben King, the House Manager & personal assistant, flew from Australia to LA after that argument, they flew commercial rather than use JD's private plane. Granted, it *was* first-class, but commercial nonetheless. I wonder why the private plane was unavailable.

This man and Keanu reeves are 2 of the greatest men of all time. They both have experienced unimaginable tragedy and yet still put their fans, family, friends and strangers before themselves. So much respect and love.

No matter what the outcome of this trial this mans character shines through and cant be denied. Any man or woman that has the courage to go into hospitals to meet kids who might not make it but still try to bring an ounce of happiness to them will always be deemed great people
People take that for granted with celebs, but to actually do it, on a regular basis, taking time out of your own life, is special.
About a third of the people i know work in the movie ind. here. and a lot of them have met Mr Depp more than once including my bro. And they all said what a genuine guy he is , and how easy it was to converse with him.

He's absolutely 100% right because whether or not it's a child or an adult bringing a smile or laughter to someone who's sick in the hospital is the best way for them to heal faster and that's a reward that anyone can give to a sick person especially a celebrity like Johnny Depp because he's done it many times and I was so struck by the way he treats the patients and their families like they're apart of his family too.

Well said. As a parent you just want someone to understand they are still kids. It may be cancer or some other illness that is killing them. But, to see a smile or hear a giggle is the best medicine in the world. Our local hospital have a group of clowns that visit. It has been recorded as a great benefit to the children as well as the elderly.

Bless him. When I was 8 I was at the children's hospital for a long time, a 4 month coma - hit by a car while crossing the street. That was 1983 I believe? What a wonderful kindness for people such as himself to do that.
I wasn't visited or anything, not the point, had amnesia (among multiple injuries) anyway. Just saying what a truly lovely thing it is he does for the children and families ❤
