Actually all the Sony full frames for stills are 14 bit (A7SIII, A7RV, A7IV, A1). Not 10 bit. 10 bit is for video listed in their specs. You can check in B+H for the specs
Thanks for putting this together. I really like your photos and I think you've nailed the pros and cons of the GFX50Sii. I really like the camera for portraits, its top notch.
A little criticism. You might want to write scripts and do a fact check before recording. Unfortunately you got a few things wrong. For example, Sony A7S3 takes 16-Bit Raw files and not 10-Bit. The A7S3 does 10-Bit in video mode. Same for the GFX which takes up to 16-Bit Raw files (external and up to 14-Bit internal) as well. And so on. I like your enthusiasm but you have to make sure that your facts are correct.
So..actually the Sony A7S3 is not capable of capturing 16-Bit still Raw files. Nor is the GFX 50s II. Their sensors are capable of capturing a maximum of 14-bit. Some brands, like the Hasselblad in their X1D (same sensor as GFX 50sII) would communicate that they output 16-bit raw files but actually the sensor can capture 14-bit at most, and there's 2-bit of noise and "empty" data. True 16-bit is possible in the sensor in the X2D and 100s / 100s II and true mediuim format, like the Phase One etc. Anyway, splitting hairs. The difference between 14-bit and 16-bit would become useful if you're e.g. pulling back over 5 stops of exposure in post ;)
The contrast autofocus is sufficient for the intended use cases. I use my 50Sii like a point and shoot and it’s perfectly acceptable. Would I shoot birds in flight, or the air show or an F1 race with my 50Sii? Nah. I’d shoot an X-T for that. Typical photography of people, slow animals, static objects. You’re gonna be fine on CDaf. Remember, some of the best photos on this planet were taken by photos with no autofocus. I do street just fine on this.
Not more pixels then a full frame but larger pixels. Leading to better noise performance and sharpness. A canon R5 and DsR both have nearly the same pixels but much higher density.
There's a UA-cam video of an American photographer who does street-photography using a analog large-format camera in New York City, I kid you not; considering that Leica M range cameras are manual focus cameras with very little automation yet many street-photographers use them, then surely a Fujifilm GFX camera can also be used for street-photography. If I had the money I would buy the GFX 100S, but down-sample the resolution to 75MP to eliminate noise and generally improve the image quality; I feel that 100 MP resolution is a bit too high for the GFX100S; however the advantage is that it has an aspect ratio that enables one to capture panoramic images at the moment of exposure. Another advantage of the GFX sensor size and high resolution is that it enables one to make print sizes larger than A1 size which is the best way to appreciate and enjoy images captured using very wide-angle lenses.
