- During menopause, many women often find that they experience a strange or bad taste in their mouth. So, today I thought I would take a look at 3 common strange tastes, why these can occur, and what can help you if you experience any of them.

This is a difficult one to answer as it will be different for every woman but generally, it is better to try and treat it if possible.

Yes I too had this metallic taste from nowhere fir 2 or 3 weeks. First it was bitter because I an getting acid reflux and dyspepsia. But my dentist advised me to take multivitamin. It helped me.

i am gettin different taste too and a little burn but not much
i get a little bitter too
Recenlty i have been getting this weired taste on my tongue i cant quite put my finger on the cause but i will try the zinc and start back taking my stomach medication to see if it helps if not then i guess i will have ro visit my doctor

Have been getting dry mouth and salty taste I have been scared. I do have reflux and mucus in throat annoying. Went to doctor to check blood pressure but it is reflux that I feel in chest. I get scared and then my anxiety gets worse and the symptoms increase. I don’t like this at all just want to cry I just want to feel normal again before menopause. I’m sorry just had to get this out feeling frustrated.

Firstly, it's a good idea to get the dry mouth checked out by your dentist as a blocked salivary duct can often be a cause. You may also find a Sea Buckthorn Oil supplement can help too. A salty taste can sometimes indicate bleeding gums, (which is quite common in the menopause) so, again, that needs the dentist.

A. Vogel UK. Hallo Eileen I did get my dentist to check that with dry mouth but that seem fine. I have reflux which I have had most of my life. But stress and menopause has made it worse I might have to go on something to help with the reflux as it can cause the dry mouth and salty yuk taste. At the moment I’m trying to change the way I eat and drink more water and try not to stress which is hard. Apparently the low hormones in menopause can cause dry mouth too. So with menopause, reflux issues it is a horrible ride. Thank you for replying.
am have the problem feel like food stuck in my throat and i try to clear it and feel like some clear thin like cold and it taste salty and i see some bump at the back of my tongue

Do get the bump checked out by your doctor first just to rule out any underlying health issues. If mouth dryness is an issue then you may find a supplement called Sea Buckthorn Oil helpful.

I have been known to get the metal taste in my mouth.
Please I getting a rotten really slight one but I can taste it think it seems like it’s coming from up in my head 🤷🏽♀️

This could be due to a stressed liver (very common in the menopause!) or dehydration but if it continues best just to check with your doctor to rule out any other health issues such as bleeding gums, diabetes or adrenal disorders.

I have a weird taste of sweet in my mouth. I am 48.
There can be a number of health issues such as diabetes which can cause a sweet taste so it is wise just to get this checked by your doctor first.
