Mark Noone, the lead singer,Wrote this song. I was working in the good ol' Raleigh Inn as a waiter when Mark was dating the chick he wrote this about. Mark was the bartender. This remains,in my opinion, one of the great "What the Fuck" songs in Rock and Roll. Mark-you are a genius! Peace, Greg

Was Mark later bartender at Half Moon BBQ in downtown Silver Spring?

Probably went to more Slickee Boys shows than any other local band in our Scene when I was a teenager. Someday I may write about what it was like going to a punk show at the original 930 Club at 930 F St NW. Those were unforgettable experiences. I could write a whole chapter on the downstairs bathroom alone.

I remember that bathroom and those F Street stores and of course, the Amazon bartender.

Weasel on the old WHFS used to like playing this song. I saw these guys a few times back in the early 80s.

AWESOME PLAYLIST! Great memories of those times in DC, at the Pschedelly and the old 9:30 club.

Do you remember DC Space? That was another funky venue from back then.

Sure, with the Olshonsky (sp?) art gallery upstairs. The Cave by Capitol Hill was a trippy place. Traditional Irish bar on the ground floor, punk downstairs in the cave. But the old 9:30 was the best by far.

Me as well. DC was pretty cool back then. Along with Slickee Boys there were the Urban Verbs, Insect Surfers, Tru Fax & the Insaniacs, etc. Good times.

Yes, I recognized the song. Blew my mind. So many great nights with The Slickees. Was very happy hearing them on the show. So nostalgic for me. Captured the mood of the era perfectly.

I think Ted Nugent might have sort of stolen this riff for the song Fred Bear

Much more interesting band than the Ramones, in my opinion. There is no justice in RocknRoll.
