Just another quick one I remember max yuvey trying to edit 8k footage from his canon R5 on his Mac Pro and that struggled!!!! So ya apple has to be very careful here.... I kind of get the sense they've locked themselves in a room and dropped the key down a sink!.. if the £1299 macbook pro can edit 4k files better than their £25,000 Mac Pro that's obviously a problem as it's made their upto £50,000 desktop redudent & obsolete... Or their claims are false which is going to absolutely kill their share price!... So I dunno what game their playing but gosh all the stars better align perfectly or this is going to go up in fireworks not like an organisation display but a fireworks factory fire!.
please upload videos in 4k. In 2020 most of us have 4k displays...

Hey guys! I currently have a 2015 macbook air and I use parallel (windows for mac) in order to complete assignments. I was thinking of upgrading to this M1 13’ macbook pro. Does anyone know if I will be able to use parallel or any other software you mimic windows?
I agree about the display issue. I spent a small fortune to set up my eGPU, and am very unhappy with what Apple did concerning that.
I have 3 34 inch 4K displays connected to my eGPU, run by a late 2012 maxed out Mac Mini.
So my very expensive displays and expensive eGPU have now become useless?!?
That’s beyond disappointment, that’s basically criminal.

I super love my Macbook Air M1. I tried using it for 15 hours straight by watching netflix and I cannot even feel the heat on the chassis. The performance is excellent!
Idk why but I just bought a new Mac book air 13inch for some odd reason. I've never been an apple product fan but something in me said let's make a change. I've been bought up on windows and own a note 9 and 10 plus samsung. I'm not a fan of iPhone and iPad but this Mac book air m1 chip is a game changer for me. I've owned many high valued windows pc and this has got to be my best purchase I've made so far. They smashed it with this one.

Hey Daniel. Hope you answer this. I know these new devices aren’t in anybody’s hands yet, but I have been editing all vids (4K) for my channel with LumaFusion on a 2020 iPad. I honestly didn’t think the new ARM MacBooks would be out this year. Do you think that the new MacBook Air would be as powerful or even more powerful to switch from the iPad Pro to this MacBook to do video editing on, or would the MacBook pro still be the better option?
Just bought the gold MacBook Air, very impressed with it so far, just a shame there’s no support for apps such as Netflix & some games etc. I also own the latest Microsoft surface laptop and would say they’re 50/50.

I am currently using the 13 inch, MacBook Air early 2015 model. Thinking of upgrading to the M1 MacBook Air. I'm still quite nervous about it. Thanks for this vid.
I have never used the Launchpad feature at all, and there’s already Command-Space for getting to Spotlight. But I would definitely have to get used to using a menu system to adjust the keyboard backlight instead of those function keys.
Thank you for this. I’m thinking about purchasing, I think it will make editing my UA-cam videos a breeze. I’ve just never owned anything apple besides a phone.

I went with the macbook pro M1 512 gb refurbished from Apple. I saved like $400, it only costs me $1,100 instead of $1,500. Pretty great deal 😍 Still waiting for it though.

In this specific case, betwen touch bar and function keys, i pick touch bar, just because of the customazition.
I am concerned about contention between CPU and GPU in the unified memory space. My second concern is that there is bi 10Gb network capability for the Mac Mini.

they didn't remove the display brightness keys, just the kEYBOARD brightness keys

They have the MacBook Air at 899 student pricing just put your email in and they’ll give it to you under education pricing. They also offer payment plan of 74 dollars a month for 12 months no interest which is what I did for school 3 days ago 😊

I know people are commenting and rightly so that the MacBook Pro M1 it’s going to be a little bit better on performance because of the fan? But the iPad pros performance and specs are tremendous and many people use them for editing and for complex tasks as well?

I ended up buying a MacBook Air with M1. Mainly, because the MacBook that I bought has the last generation of the butterfly keyboards and I have been having issues (even though I have sent it back to apple twice to get repaired). For example, my sift key lately has been having an issue where it would come unpressed. Meaning, it sometimes can remain stuck in shift mode. However, I only purchased the base model of the MacBook Air with the 7 core GPU. Can someone please explain to be what a GPU is, and should I be concerned that I do not have all 8 cores enabled?

gpu will get more than twice the memory if you upgrade. if cpu uses say 4gb that leaves either 4gb or 12gb for gpu

the RAM and SSD's are actually separate from the M1 chip. Apple knew customers were going to open the MacBook up and notice that the M1 SOC is actually just a M1 chip with separate memory and RAM. they both can easily be upgraded but at your own risk. the MacBooks do allow and accept the swap in RAM and SSD's.

The EGPUs are based on x86 architecture so perhaps there is a compatibility problem. We might need Apple Silicone in the EGPU.
I saw a release from parallels saying they are working on a version for M1. Good for those who like the option of running windows.

only Windows 10 insider though. I read x86 Windows won't work, even under Rosetta/even if it was possible, as Rosetta doesn't support virtualisation..

I'm concerned about the RAM management. The price difference between a 16gb Air and a Pro is not much and it makes me think that as I kept my ThinkPad for 8+yrs so 16gb is must buy. So most eligible Mac is Pro with 16gb
