I’ve got one of these, had it for around 6 months now. Anyone thinking of buying this rifle can look no further for a sub 12 pcp rifle. I use mine primarily for squirrels & pigeons. It’s Stupidly accurate even at 55m. If anyone has any questions about this gun before they buy it, I’d be happy to answer.
Following upgrades have been applied to my rifle:
Hugget - ATOM silencer (to guarantee accuracy)
    Vector optics - VEYRON scope.
Bipod is side rail mounted so if you wanna upgrade that, you’ll have to buy a universal “rest” type one, or drill & tap your own thread into the bottom of the stock to adapt a traditional bipod.
    Overall.. worth £450 I’d say..

A nice video. Looking for my first pcp after shooting a springer for 6 months or so for the first time in a 'few' years. This might well make the short list.

The trigger can be transformed by replacing the adjustment screw with a longer one - there's info on Google about how to do this.
Another improvement to accuracy can also be achieved by having the barrel free-floating.

    Hi Rich,
Thank you for your great review of this excellent looking pcp air rifle.
I would think this kit would be ideal if someone like a farmer, for example, wanted to get rid of nuisance pests.
It's plastic stock will be very resilient, ten shot magazine with cocking lever. So, follow up shot, no problem.
The accuracy is to die for. Pellet on pellet at thirty metres, absolutely fantastic. If I was a youngster wishing for an air rifle and chance of this package, I would be like a dog with three tails, lol! Atb.

Nice to see you back Richard, it's a nice looking/shooting full power rifle. Like yourself I'm also not a fan of that style of safety catch but it's not a deal breaker however for that price I will have a metal trigger on anything I buy it's probably just a Grumpy Old F*rt thing but hey ho. A great review as Always 👍👍

Great review, still prefer the GX-40 although the far greater shot count makes that a very tempting alternative. ATB MMMD

I'm new to your channel and I'm glad I found you, if this video is typical of your work. Very thorough review, much better than I usually find, and I search a lot. I'm in the US and I have a couple of Gamo Urbans and a Coyote in .177 cal. Do you know if the mags for the Venari are the same as for the Urban, Phox, Coyote and GX-40, within the same caliber, of course? Are the mags as expensive there as they are here in the states? They're great trouble free kit, but man, they cost, when compared to Umarex mags. What do you know about availability of stocks and the interchangeability of them between models? What is the BSA version of these guns called in Briton?'

Hi - thanks very much. We're glad you found us too, and we have a catalogue of 100+ videos for you to wade through, including a few on Gamos. I am pretty certain that the magazines are interchangeable, certainly for the Phox, Coyote and GX-40. I'm not familiar with the Urban though, unless its sold in the UK under a different name. The magazines are around £50 here in the UK. Not sure how that compares to the US though?

Hi Richard, I’m torn between the Gamo Venari and the ATA Airborne as my first PCP. Which would you recommend? I love the content and you do the best reviews on here hands down!

    • @alphamilitaria2756
      @alphamilitaria2756  2 роки тому +2

Hi Billy. That's very kind of you to say - thank you. Both are great value rifles and perform at a level that makes a mockery of their price tag in my opinion. The key difference between the two is that the Airborne (have you seen the review we did on it?) is regulated but it is quite a lump so if you plan on wandering around a permission that's something to consider. The Venari is much lighter and although its not regulated you do get a scope, bipod and silencer all included in the price. Also, the Airborne is a sidelever (a very good one) and the Venari is bolt action, so you might have a preference that way. Finally, and unfortunately it s fact that air rifles do go wrong sometimes, good as it is, the Airborne could be more difficult to get spares for in a timely manner whereas the Venari is made in the UK and BSA/Gamo have an excellent after sales service. Its a tricky one Billy, both are great rifles and I'm sure you'd be pleased with either one. If its possible for you pick them both up and shoulder them one will shout out to you more than the other. If you're buying blind though, I'd probably go the Venari...but its a mighty close thing. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

@@alphamilitaria2756 No that is great information thank you! I have seen both of your reviews and they both look great for the price tag. I think based on the availability of supplies and the added silencer and bipod of the Venari, I’m going to go for that. Again, thanks for the detailed response and I look forward to watching further reviews :)

Great video, but I have a question I had my fingers crossed someone might answer; how closely related are the Venari/Phox internals? Would replacing the Phox stock with a Venari be practical, or would the cost and work be such that just buying a Venari be more reasonable?

I think that's probably true of most scopes that come with a rifle. The one on the Venari is pretty good though and perfectly clear out to 40m. Any further and the lack of parallax adjustment makes things a little blurrier.
