Is this printer louder or quieter than your old printer? Is it loud in general? I'm planning on getting a 3D printer, but noise is an important consideration for me. Great Video as always!
That printer is absurdly affordable, cool that it uses a Pi too. Do you know how often their software updates are expected to come? Looks like the biggest downside, other than forceful touching.
Hacker House Sweet... because I will be doing late night prints and don't want to wake people up. And it will be nice to see it glow at night. Also the print volume is perfect... I could just print characters in pieces. Also, does the normal Cura or Simplify3D work on this?
I bought one of these (Robo C2) earlier this month, and I can vouch for Simplify3D working on this printer. Definitely ensure you're using the latest S3D (version 4 was just recently released). You won't be able to print over USB, but you can save the toolpaths to disk as gcode and upload that to the C2 using the web interface (which is a customized Octoprint). I personally think the Simplify3D slicing engine is better at a lot of things compared to the customized Cura slicing engine built into Octoprint. S3D version 4 actually seems to print better rafts than Robo's Cura (the printed part just peels away from the raft).
Robert Poole I noticed that on some of my prints with ROBO 3d Cura. Unfortunately I don't have wifi in my room so I've been using a thumb drive to print
Kashif Riley yep, sneakernet via thumb drive works great if you can't use WiFi. Although Ethernet works also if you can run Cat5 to where the printer is. Really glad Robo included a USB type A female plug on the front panel. (Planning on attaching a USB web cam to the rear port so I can monitor print jobs visually.)
Thanks for the review and video! We appreciate it buddy. Take care and let me know if you have any questions at all. We are always here to help.
ask youtube to verify you. really like your content. pls don't stop
Would you recommend this as a first timer product? Or would it be too complicated to manage with the software
The software might be overwhelming if you haven't 3d printed before. It is pretty nice once you get the hang of it.
To add to that though, you don't have to adjust many settings if you don't want to. There are some presets that are pretty much click and go.
Do you have an opinion of how this compares to the m3d Pro or the new matter mod-t?

We've been getting updates every other week.
I'm definitely purchasing this printer and it's my first 3d printer. Have you had issues with noise and cleaning the extruder?
Not yet!
