I never knew this before. A big thanks for the African American who fought side by side with filipino soldiers for our freedom against white supremacist.
You made me cry when you mentioned forgiveness😢 It is the right answer to everything that’s happening right now- not hate. Thank you for understanding.
Forgiveness can be given ONLY once there is equality and justice. It has been hundreds of years already and still they are not treated equally. The movement happening right now is not born of hatred, but rather from empathy and love, as people are finally seeing how much the African Americans have been suffering.
From Us Filipinos, we have nothing but sincere respect to the black community. And we thank you for our freedom as you folks once helped us fight in the war... Again Thank you
My mom immigrated to the US as a nurse and her first job was in Harlem. She said her and the other Filipinos felt comfortable around the other Black nurses only ❤️❤️❤️ it was the white nurses that made them feel uncomfortable
When i arrived here in Brklyn in 79 my first friends were African Americans. I felt secure and confident with them. Now i know why. There is that common bond between us.
Do you mean we see Rizal the same way American POC see MLK? Or do you mean MLK & Ghandi were literally inspired by Rizal? Because I highly doubt that the latter is true.
I'm a Filipino but I'm learning a lot now about our history of African American and how connected the bloodline with Filipinos African American in the world. Even I didn't know much about this.
whenever I see an African-American or Africans who immigrated to the Philippines for work, nobody bothers them -- well I stare at them because of how good they dress ... I remember I told my cousin that an African woman's hair (who I saw in church) was beautiful, very tall too -- like they can be models here for all I know
Thank you for sharing this. Let's continue to pray for peace and solidarity among all mankind. As a filipino, I'm grateful for your ancestors who fought with us. We are fighting with you too in prayers.
I a filipino support you and the black lives matter movement.. I support equality and respect every lives regarless of the color of skin nor nationality...
I just started following you guys. You guys are funny, quirky and just all in all loveable! Really love this video you guys featured. I stand with you guys! Sending love from this Filipino-Canadian momma from Vancouver, BC!
Thank you! for loving the philipiines. "Salamat!" Yes! you should visit my country and feel the warm hospitality and culture. A few vloggers like Bisayang Hilaw (american), BecomingFilipino (canadian), MakeItHappen (austrian), The Juicy Vlog (british) to name a few have settled here or made the country as their homebase. The possibilities are endless to you guys. Stay safe and Godbless.
Treat each other with respect, dignity and kindness so much of the wars and violence our societies went thru where caused because that was not present. Those who defected then showed more of that than adherence to their oaths but I do hope they lived a good life after taking the stand to enjoy life without violence with their families. Thanks for showing the video and reacting to it we are all in the same place regardless of skin colour or ethnicity. This segment helps remember the past to stride intomthe future better with an understanding of what we failed at and what we achieved. Salamat Rell and Deo
I really love the videos that u post on your channel but this one, I had goosebumps.... I mean with everything that's going on now around the world and the racism in the US, it's just heartbreaking and I'm trying to educate myself on the lives of the black. I've really felt the impact and the severity of the situation. I just wish that I can do more for y'all guys. Because I'd love to. Your lives are important as the lives of many.❤️❤️❤️❤️ #blacklivesmatter!!!!✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
This reminds me of the African-American soldiers during the Vietnam War. The US sent African-Americans to Vietnam all in the name of fighting against communism, AND using allegiance to the United States as a tool so that African-Americans did not question the immorality of that war. However, many African-Americans questioned the morality of that war. Here they were being sent to fight in a war by a country (US) that, not too long ago, considered them 3/5 of a human being. As the great Muhammad Ali once said: “Why should they ask me to put on a uniform and go 10,000 miles from home and drop bombs and bullets on brown people in Vietnam after so-called Negro people in Louisville are treated like dogs and denied simple human rights?” Who else was drafted in that war? Donald Trump. But his wealth and white privilege got him out of that draft. Something to think about...Black bodies sent to fight a white man’s war.
Love and forgiveness are the powerful tools to be united as one. Just love each other , helping each other we cannot live forever we might as well give the best of it everyday just love no hates.
This is very flattering to know how our race fight side by side from those racist with dark agenda. Im a filipino and i have a lot of african friends here in dubai.

All men of colors are welcome in our country. We have brown and black filipino. Black native filipino which are thought to be the first settlers and brown which are not a malay race. Indonesia and malaysia are the malay race. Philippines have our own race. We even have plenty races within our country. Examples of these are caviteño, bulacaño, waray, cebuano, ilonggo, capampangan etc. A 3 hour ride and suddenly, people are speaking a different language. Good thing tagalog is taught to be the national language or else we wont understand people from other places haha.
Thank you for your appreciation of our culture and respect for diversification. Ya'll should visit and let us return the favor. Much love from zamboanga del sur, Philippines

I Hope one day that there will be an Documentary of the African American/Afro-Centric Soldiers of the Philippine/American War and their descendants.
