I wanna answer some of your concerns, lol.
1. Yes, we do have churches in our Malls. Um, to be honest not much of a difference bec Jesus is everywhere. 😊
2. Jeeps, nowadays you just have to say “para” meaning stop, to get off the jeep but we still have those jeeps with bells.
3. Volcano warnings, yes sirs we can somehow "predict" if a volcano is about to erupt. Signs, volcanic activities, if the ground tends to swell or what have you, etc. They will give you an ample time to evacuate and no one would be allowed to get in the area if it’s dangerous so don't worry. 😊
4. The three big B’s! Aside from singing, Filipinos love Basketball, Boxing and Beauty Pageants. But yes with boxing and during Manny Pacquiao’s fight, the streets , roads are basically dead lol. Even criminals love Manny Pacquiao lol! 😂

Actually there is one mistake in stopping a jeepney. We don't ring a bell. We say " Para po" then jeepney stops and guess what how we pay? We ask passengers before us to pass the money until it reaches to the driver and pass back the change.hehe

Why Philippines is the texting capital of the world. Because, it was the cheapest way of communication. Especially, when the third telecommunications company started the 'unlimited text'. Other companies followed the gimmick. And texting still common but in a form of messeging apps particularly, FB messenger. Telecommunications companies allow the subscriber to use messenger for free. Hence, the texting capital. Oh! There's more! You cannot send text messages during the eve of xmas in Philippines. Particularly, if you are using promotional package like unlimited text. Well, this is may not all applicable, since, I am living outside Philippines for 10 years.
Can confirm. This is still true. But not 100% sure about the "no texting" on xmas eve tho. We'll have to wait and see.

In reality, we don't ring the bell in jeepneys, they don't have bells. Instead we say "Para", which means "Stop" in English.

Us here we use a coin to hit the thingy at the top which produce sounds like a bell

Sometimes the hardest part when you want to take a ride in jeepenys especially if its rush hour, is you have to join a fun run with other people so you can take a ride.
And our rice terraces is only made by hand cause when the time they made that there was no machine not even once.
