    Excellent Job! Very professional how it screws down into the existing Tyre mount!

    That rattle can't be a garage door, its most likely the lisc. plate on the trunk lid. I have heard it way too many times not to know it. Just put some deadening material on the back of it.

      Hi Wise One, thanks for the comment and for watching my video. Give it a go for sure!
      When I started this project, family and friends all told me it wouldn't work and I was wasting my time but I'm glad I didn't listed because it's AWESOME!
      Remember - it's not a stupid idea if it works!

    Great idea I’ve thought of this before but never acted on it. Currently both my cars have the spare underneath. 🙄 So I won’t be doing it soon.

    os this still working ?? and is there any Spl kind of material do we need for this or this can be made with the help of plywood ??

    • @MaximumDIY
      @MaximumDIY  Рік тому +1

      Yes, it's still working very well!
      No special material required, I used MDF because it was the cheapest. Just make sure the box is glued together to keep it air tight.
      I also used some silicone around the home for the wires.

    Why don't you make a hole on the subwoofer box?

    • @MaximumDIY
      @MaximumDIY  Рік тому +1

      I did try this but it made it sound terrible. It has more bass and is more punchy when sealed.

    does it muffle when the tire cover/floor is put back over it?

    • @MaximumDIY
      @MaximumDIY  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Jaspergers - thanks for the comment, the answer is no. It doesn't muffle the sound, I'm using a low pass filter on my head deck so the sub only has to product low bass notes but it's crisp base and I've already modded my wife's car with the same excellent results.
      I did have to use a towel to wrap up the spare tire tools as they were vibrating but that was a simple fix.

      Hi Christopher
      Thanks for the comment, I did try putting a hole in the bottom of the original box but it completely ruined the sound. I ended up going for a sealed box and the results sounded much better.

      Hoping it's not a shallow mount

  • @ShivaSharma-zs6gt
    @ShivaSharma-zs6gt Місяць тому

    Did you bother to look at the size of the box needed for the sub? There isn't enough space and you need to port it... A shallow 10 inch with the top of the box flush with the bottom of the trunk floor so it takes the space of wood that covers the spare is better because it would allow proper air and give maximum depth. The other option is to use a sub that is built for a box that isn't ported. Your concept is good, but next time do your research on the subwoofer requirements before building a box.

      @@ShivaSharma-zs6gt thanks for the comment, the first interation of this box was ported and it sounded like crap, it sounded hollow and weak.
      The box needs to be sealed due to its size.
      Unexpectedly I've received a lot of criticism on this project from friends, family, fans and I've come to the belief that everyone seems to think they are experts on this subject when it really comes down to what sounds best for you.
      Nevertheless, I decided to actually build one, I found out what works and what didn't.
      In my opinion, it sounds amazing, fits perfectly and is exactly what I wanted.
      Hope this helps.

      Hi Sam
      Give it a go, music sounds soo much better with a 12" sub in the boot.
      As for the led lighting strips, you're rite that's so 90's show case scene.
      But thanks for the comment - you've given me another idea to work on.
