The 2023 Yamaha YZ125X is all new this year! It features a lot of the changes the motocross 125 two stroke received in 2022. There is a new carbeurator , new body work, new intake, new suspension settings, and more. The bike was just announced and we are sure that we will be testing one in the near future. Until we get a leg over the 2023 Yamaha YZ125X Dirt Bike Magazine wanted to give our loyal viewers some details on this brand new offroad bike. In the past we loved the 125X and we're thrilled to see Yamaha improving this model and not letting it go stagnant for years on in.

Thanks, Yamaha.
Go to hell yamaha. Yamaha is asia brand but not sale in indonesia.😡😡😡
I gotta hand it to YAMAHA, by far the very best and smartest powersport company by far.
Everything they do makes sense, they don't release anything till they are sure it's right.
What's so strange tho is why aren't they running 2 strokes in their sleds? They stuck with it in their dirtbike lineup but in their sled business way back in '03 they said we'll never make another 2 stroke snowmobile. i don't get it.
@@romper4444 they do have 2 stroke sleds, vk540, transporter 600 (CAT) and the 800cc mountain max (CAT junk also)
I really hate the yamaha/cat partnership, Cats are junk, my best buddy owns a cat dealership n rides a new xcr850 polaris
except for the problem of not being able to get parts / accessories.
Except for not updating there 2 stokes for almost 20 years. All the European brands are so far ahead of them now. I do love the yz250f though its a damn good bike.
@@The2006200the yz 2 strokes are far better than all the other brands. cuz they’re actually reliable. all these modern 2 stroke ktm and husky have problems not even 40 hours into owning the bike with electrical and engine power loss. the yamahas haven’t changed much until this year bc they actually make sure it works unlike ktm. and they are simple which is better.
Yamaha is doing it right. I can’t wait for them to bring out a 300 enduro model like Beta and Sherco and TM , Rieju. If that happens with a cheaper price they will dominate the 300 enduro class
Use ktm's would completely flood the market if Yamaha released a 300. The demand would be so high the wait list would probably be a couple years long.
I just bought a WR250F and love it, but I'd dang sure be interested in a 300 2 stroke WR!
I wish they'd make it with a headlight and tail light.
Having owned a brand -new First year 1981 water-cooled YZ125 all I can say is that year was a Great Leap Forward in Yamaha’s design & now this new 2022 (41years later😳) looks to be as much fun as my memory makes me think my old bike was . As a current “99WR-400f” owner ( had it now 20 plus years) I haven’t ridden a modern 2 stroke off road , having gone the 4-stroke route when Doug Henry showed the way with the Moto-cross debut of the YZ-400 F back then . Maybe have to throw a leg over one of these new 125’s soon and give it a try for old memories sake at least . Yamaha guy for life . My ‘77 RD -400 , ‘85 TRI-Z 250 & ‘’99 R-6 will attest to that ( still own them all , except for the ‘81 YZ😕). Oh well , can’t keep ‘em all I guess …. See you out on the road or trails … 😊👍.
Yes Yamaha needs to keep a trail and motocross version of 2 strokes and the Ama so start a 2 stroke series the same the 4 strokes and let riders and fans get to have both if they would do that I would start back racing!
Just ordered mine today. Cant wait
Look forward to seeing you guys get to test ride one!
Totally my next bike
After a year riding one I can say the suspension on these are perfect. The jetting from the factory is terrible, but start with a smaller pilot and go from there.
Good lord I want one.
Thank god they went back to a keihin
Give it a front /rear light softer sus and shorter first gear, a wr logo, ready😃🤟🏁
Nice bike 😍
I wish I waited a year!! Damm..but I modified my 22 a lot!! I put a apex head on mine a SC2 vforce Reed a 9oz fly wheel waight and a pro circuit pipe!! And all new graphics and seat cover!! Not one in America look better then mine but I wish I had the mapping system!! O well yo can not have everything can you..
I'm first in line at my local dealer. Trading in my klx300r for a lil light two stroke fun!
@Anthony Petro Same! The KLX is just too heavy
Does the2023 yz125 X have the same low end power as the yz125 motorcross?
Hopefully they make the same changes to the 250x!
❤️🏁😎
I should have waited one more year!! Dammm
Probably going to trade my 2022 125x in on a 2023 but it’s going to cost be a lot of money
motorcycle ancestors smiling down on Yamaha
The euro bikes, for some reason are able to be plated easily. I know many people ffrom various states that can easily get them plated. I just had a Husky 250 2stroke and the dealer plated it in Illinois. I know many people who have tried in vain to get a Japanese offroad bike plated and failed. This is why the yamaha wont sell as many.
so it no longer has a wide ratio gearbox ?
So what exactly changed from 2020 125X to 2023 125X. I heard hupla hupla comparisons from the 125 motocross bike no details that changes it from the last 2 years.
Is this bike sold in Europe ?
I will leave this comment manifesting this bike 🥺🔥
I really want this bike, but I would prefer electric start in the woods, how much benefit is there running the 18" rear wheel? Is it worth switching my '03 kx125 from the 19" rear?
The 18" wheel allows you to run a tire with more sidewall while keeping the same outside diameter. The extra sidewall lets the tire flex and conform to rocks and tree roots, etc. It makes a big difference in traction, and also helps absorb bumps. Once you ride in the woods on an 18" wheel you won't want to go back to 19".
I have a Panthera electric start on my YZ144 and its worked absolutely flawless for me. It also has a bonus feature of adding resistance from rolling backwards when stalled on a hill with the starter motor because it uses a sprag clutch instead of a bendix.
It's a 125, you can breath on the kickstart lever and fire it up. I wouldn't add the weight of a battery and starter to this bike. I get the uphill off camber argument. I just don't think it happens often enough or is difficult enough to deal with the weight.
@@woodsrdr The whole kit only adds 5 pounds and even adds some flywheel weight but unless you’re riding a bunch of gnarly shit it’s definitely not necessary.
@@dakotanewman4443 I've seen the kits. I just wasn't sure about the weight. I ordered my 300XCW with a starter delete. The first time I changed the gearbox oil I was slowly applying the kick starter with my hand and the damn thing fired up. I've just personally never had a need for one. Then again I used to have an XR628 and a couple of 550XCs and CR500s as well. Never had any problems kicking them. I'm baffled by it myself since I've been between 145-160 lbs soaking wet. I had a friend with an 03 YZ134 from Langcourt Ltd. It had great bottom end power. I had an bored and stroked RM161 from Eric Gore that would smoke him from around 8-9,000 rpms but he destroyed me below that. The funniest thing for me is I'm actually the fastest in the woods on my old 200XC. I will admit the new YZ125X is very tempting.
I like Yamaha but after the Loretta Lynn stuff I want ever buy from them again. Maybe second hand but not factory.
Not even second hand there is other manufacturers I like better now
It’s star yamaha
What Loretta Lynn stuff?
@@probegt75 star Yamaha brought a bike that shouldn't be racing in the am's. A kid tried to claim it. And not only did he not get the bike his sponsor drop him and took his bikes. Just another case of the little guy getting screwed.
Is it really all new?
Top speed?
Is it lighter than the KTMs 2 strokes?
We don't yet know. We got to ride a 2023 preproduction KTM briefly, but we didn't have the opportunity to weigh it or truly test it.
I thought the XC125 was 218lb actually wet last year on Kyle's channel. E-start most likely, but the YZ was 208lbs wet.
Extremely unlikely.
Changed engine components n carb...I'll wait a year lol
What is a magazine??
It's this old tech that trumped the internet in every way
Oh. Like the old paper porno books my grandpa use to glue together....
A little headlight would be nice in my opinion
All new ?? Electric start ??
Awesome bike, too bad I live in communist California and can't register it..
Haha sucker
Yeah it sucks man, I would buy one as well, but these idiots don't let us get a sticker.
good ole commifornia
Im sorry but its 2023 models here we should be able to make those features of injection and electric start reliable, why would you not want that those on a bike, because they should be standard reliable features.
Simplicity it its claim to fame. Why do you need that stuff on a 125 ? Keep the price down so more can afford one ,that’s what it’s about. Go buy a over priced ktm if you want that stuff, and then they will keep jacking the price up. It’s you money 💰, or ktm,s lol
Just buy a KTM there is a reason you don't see any Yamaha 2 strokes at the offroad races.
I'm going to buy a new yz 250 and yz 125 when they both have silver wheels.... any colored rims can lick my sweaty taint.....
But still behind what we want it to be. No electric start and would love to see the oil injection etc. I will spend the extra money on KTM for estart and injection, even though I would much rather the yamaha, like way rather the yami
The oil injection has a much higher failure rate. I love fuel injection and Estart on my four stroke but I see no need for either on a small bore 2 stroke.
you just don't get it.
I believe part of the appeal to the YZX is that is doesn't have what you seek. It is simple.
Not for my boys after what you did to Brennan Scofield never again
So a 18 wheel and a sticker?
No, engine parts are different to change the power delivery for off road as well as the suspension, did you watch the video?
Do a little research and you’ll see there are quite a few differences between the two.
Don't forget the kick stand man, Jesus have some respect. 🙊
For a motocross bike to be enduro or offroad it need a bigger tank, one extra geer ,hydralic clutch, cooling fan and maby a heavyer flywheel. Rebrand a bike just by suspension settings and mapping is just stupid
Fx
go ride a 250FX if you want electric and fuel injection and leave the 125Xs to the gangsters
Yamaha is the go to brand...still make 2 strokes and sport quads...honda is terrible I'll never buy anything from them
its 2023, we should be able to have injection and electric start , why would you not want that on a bike? they should be standard features.
Why would you want injection on a two-stroke when we've seen a much higher than normal failure rate on the Austrian bikes? I'm not going to disagree about the electric start though it's not a deal breaker on a small bore two-stroke
@@Dashriprock4 I can tell you it is nice to not have to mess with jetting on the Ktm 2t it always runs perfect in any elevation. I would never go back. But I get it from a cost stand point all that stuff jacks up the price tag.
