These guys are insane. I get sick of hearing people say they're "underrated". That may be true, but those of us who are longtime fans do not underrate them. I just think they didn't have the exposure they deserved back in the day.
Saw them a few years ago. I started shouting "Visions" for the encore. Doug said that they were too old for that but then TY started playing "King", and with the ok from Jerry they played the song. Gotta love it! They played "Pleiades" so I was happy.
Can't wait to see them with a well rested Jerry again, I can't remember how many times i've seen them goat be over 30 times and I get as jazzed as the first time everytime, Peace.
@unaperrson You have to include Rush and Living Colour in that conversation. At least I do, and I don't care if no one else appreciates them but me. :)
Does the band still play the skin flutes? Love the sound but the mental pictures throws me off. Cant wrap my head around that bs. But no doubt this band sounds very good. TY don't choke on them flutes ya hear? Peace!
Rick, no one in the band plays skin flutes. That false rumor is based on an interview in the Christian magazine HMM where the lead singer/bassist Doug Pinnick claimed he struggled with same sex attraction. He never said he was gay and acted on that attraction. But Christians blew that up and the Christian music machine dropped them like a ball for that and another reason. None of them smoke skin flutes but they all openly enjoy smoking weed and have never hidden that fact. So Christians did not like that.
+Damon Whitsell For what it's worth. From Wiki, "In 1998, Pinnick confirmed his homosexuality, coming out during an interview for Regeneration Quarterly."
Who gives a flying fuck???? That has absolutely nothing to do with me personally and it shouldn't anyone else either. I support anyone who has found happiness in anything they choose as long as it's not infringing on someone else's life. Kings X makes me feel good every time I listen to them. My favorite all time band and favorite all time guitarist. Long live KX!!!!!
I cannot get enough of this band. There is no-one else like them on the planet and their music sends tingles down my spine :-)
Tell it!
KXM slays ...
You definitely won't see this but my dad got me into Kings X and his old band even got to do a headliner for them. This band is so damn good.
They ripped this song off us my old band
Saw them saturday in Hamburg.
This band is one of the best best ever.
A three headed orchestra, grooving like hell!
kings x is the greatest band to have graced the planet with their presence
No truer words have ever been spoken on said planet!
I Fukn Agree wholeheartedly! Saw them Live decades ago; and I'm Crying to see 'em again! King's X is just that Fuckin' Awesome.
Soooo fucking good. Kip Winger called them "The most underrated band on the planet".
Very true!
Nile Rodgers called them "ridiculous". Got that right. They are just plain filthy.
+Paul Johnson You seem like a jealous Alice In Chains fan....
I fly the LC and KX flags proudly. I saw someone wearing a Warren Zevon tour shirt at a bar tonight and damn near fell over. I love unique musicians.
What a pure raw sound :)
I like the line 'The closer you get, the deeper it means'
Theyre awesome. No rating needed. This is talent in songwriting and performance - gifts straight from a higher power - whatever that is...

That makes them underrated bro....

Can't wait to see them with a well rested Jerry again, I can't remember how many times i've seen them goat be over 30 times and I get as jazzed as the first time everytime, Peace.
Three perfect ingredients for some sweet ear candy: Ty, Doug, Jerry. I've been addicted since the early beginnings and I don't want a cure.

Best song ?
Wow, that's a tough one. "Dogman" is damn, damn good. Personally, I can't decide between "We Were Born To Be Loved" and "Moanjam".
Hey is that Mike Portnoy playing guitar? loool
Awesome Band Awesome Tune. The Video is out of sync which drives me crazy!
Agree. Even a little bit off messes it up. Glad you're enjoying one of the best bands EVER out there.

You are picturing men performing fellatio on other men in your head then criticizing King's X for being homosexual? You are clearly a master of irony.
+Damon Whitsell For what it's worth. From Wiki, "In 1998, Pinnick confirmed his homosexuality, coming out during an interview for Regeneration Quarterly."
+Dean Davidson - He's "projecting"... LOL : )
