Who says you can't be heavy AND melodic? In the 80's - 90's I was following these guys instead of Metallica. Thought then, and still do, that these guys were WAY heavier...
found these guys on a heavy metal compilation cd and was impressed by their harmonies, kick-ass playing and overall musicianship. they should have much, much more recognition.
I was fortunate enough to see them live in 94 front of the stage. Nothing but awesome. This band and Badlands are my two favorite bands of all time. As a musician I completely enjoy this band.
I met Doug Pinnick once in front of the Metropol in Pittsburgh just before the show.He took the time to chat with me and I don't think anyone knew who he was.They played that night and were fantastic! This was back in the 90's and King's X has always been a super band!

Maybe? Possibly? under rated? THEY ARE THE MOST UNDER RATED! They should feel robbed. They totally blow away many of the bands that made the top 40 of this genre ! Why didn't they attain that rating? Easy.....they got the love and they absolutely refused to sell out to the recording industries cut and polished mega track money machine.
It's funny you said that. Whenever I try to get people into this band I always say, "combine Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix, and the Beatles, and you'll get an idea" They are very original, but I say this to give people an idea before they actually listen.
