Thank you a lot Alain, it will be very helpful to me as I'm going to Paris in 2 days! As I have to go from CDG to Cité Universitaire and then to Orly Airport, I intend to buy a 1 day pass. So I will take a RER B and after that, the metro. But, I'm worried about using the day-pass in Metro Line 14. Do you know if it's ok? Is the day-pass valid to Metro Line 14?
Thanks Alain... Though I did notice that you didn't open the app while tapping. Hope it takes Metro app for payments instead of GooglePay or ApplePay app!! Can you please confirm.
You don't need Google Pay, that's for sure. For tickets on an iphone, you'd need the Apple wallet, whereas for weekly passes you'd pay through the idf mobilité app.
Does the weekly pass last 7 days or is it based on the calendar? Another UA-cam channel described the pass starting on Sunday or Monday no matter when it is downloaded and activated. So if I buy my pass on Wednesday when does it expire? Thanks
If you purchase your pass from Friday to Thursday the following week, it will be valid from Monday to Sunday of this week. The past is always valid only from Monday to Sunday no matter when you buy it.
Thank you for your response. If you are going to do another related video, should should clearly inform your viewers that the weekly pass is validated for a specific week and not for 7 consecutive days after purchase and activation. Many might think they can activate a weekly pass on a Wednesday and it will expire seven days later (one week) after the following Tuesday when it actually expires after Sunday.

We will be arriving on a Tuesday for 10 days and plan on walking mostly but the first week need transportation from CDG and to/from Versailles so I think getting a weekly pass for all zones should be the best option? Merci!

I bought an Orly ticket via line 14 but when I want to buy a book of 10 tickets the option doesn't come up on the app,is it won't let me have 2 separate tickets if that makes sense
@@granite4132 On my Android phone, I have the option to purchase a book of 10 t+tickets, but not to purchase an Orly ticket via Line 14. I think it's because when you take line 14 in Paris, the system wouldn't know if it has to use a t+ ticket or a special Orly ticket, as it's the same metro but with different price.
I am not sure I see the difference between pulling out a ticket and pulling out your smartphone to tap. All I can see is that people feel techy if they use their phone but it is no different at all to using a plain simple ticket which is small and light especially when purchasing a monthly or yearly pass.
The big difference is that you can purchase tickets wherever you are, whenever you want and don't have to queue anymore to purchase them. It's also more ecological.
Disagree. Most people always carry their phones with them. This way, you don’t have to worry about losing your paper ticket or remembering to bring it. Tapping with your phone is the way to go. It’s not about “feeling techie.”
Sorry but overly complicated for those not tech savvy such as the elderly. It’s like a guide for flying a plane. I’d rather just buy a card I scan. Than join this, buy that, turn this on. Although do appreciate your efforts at explanation.

I bought an Orly ticket via line 14 but when I want to buy a book of 10 tickets the option doesn't come up on the app,is it won't let me have 2 separate tickets if that makes sense
@@paristoptips tickets on phone
@@granite4132 On my Android phone, I have the option to purchase a book of 10 t+tickets, but not to purchase an Orly ticket via Line 14.
I think it's because when you take line 14 in Paris, the system wouldn't know if it has to use a t+ ticket or a special Orly ticket, as it's the same metro but with different price.
@@paristoptips thank you for the clarification, much appreciated
Ma se non dovesse funzionare ho qualche modo per recuperare l'acquisto dei biglietti giornalieri da 8,65 euro?
No, I don't think so...
How can we buy 10+ tickets for all 1-5 zones?
@@dipakpdsharma You can't ! Outside of Paris, tickets are destination based. You can just buy the same 10 tickets from one place to another place.
I thought there was a €2 fee if you purchase the physical card, but this fee does not exist if the smartphone is used.
Absolutely: no fee for the smartphone app.
30 for a weekly ticket?
I see 70 euro
70 € during the Olympics, 30€ at other times.
Sorry but overly complicated for those not tech savvy such as the elderly. It’s like a guide for flying a plane. I’d rather just buy a card I scan. Than join this, buy that, turn this on. Although do appreciate your efforts at explanation.
I do agree, it is overly complicated if you do it only once. As I do it every month, it has become the best solution for me.🙂
How insulting. Who do you think invented the technology? This is incredibly simple. Load an app, purchase a ticket, tap and go.
Alain, thank you so much for this video. Will help us a lot flying out tomorrow to France.
My pleasure 🙏
Hope you have a great stay in Paris.
