Lapping length of steel bars Beam & column calculation in Tamil

As per IS standard what are all the standard neccessary to follow.
In this video i explained how to calculate the lapping length for column and beam.
Normally in site we have to take lapping length = 50d, Where d= diameter of the steel bar.
Lapping location varies based on the BM in the member.
For column lapping must be in the center of the location.

Welding of column lapping for 4*12 mm is good or not for 2 ft distance ( all four bar in same distance) only available above slab for 1st floor only house. Does welding reduce its strength. If ok, how much length does it need to welding

Hi Manoj, As per IS code Welding is not preferable upto 36mm Dia. Instead of Welding do it Coupler for joining. It is Suitable for critical location. Thank you.

@@manojkumar-qu8ml In Market from 16mm Dia coupler available. Welding is not safe for 12mm Dia as per IS code . If you need to know the result do the tensile test & check once.

Lapping length dwg kudutha antha length eduthukonga. Illa na
Minimum - 45d to 50d
45x 12 mm = 540mm = 0.54m * 3.28 feet = 1.77feet.
50 x 12mm = 600mm = 0.60m *3.28feet = 1.96 feet.
So atleast 1.77feet kandipa kudukanum bro..
