Great video! I just flew the A380 on BA from JFK to LHR first class with a very dated cabin and I can understand your excitement. The blue shirt with white collar pajamas looked very nice. My daughter and I flew from BOS to MUC enroute to Berlin this past August in business class. The service was just "ok" and the bed kept losing air. The WC was just a standard WC unlike the First Class WC. I actually think the service was better on our connection from MUC to BER! If you haven't seen it yet, the British Airways A380 business class WC is huge as well.... on par with the LH first class WC.
I flew on the same A380 from BOS to MUC in business (first long haul J class flight btw) back in July. I recorded everything for a trip report but unfortunately due to schoolwork and other things I have going on I havent been able to edit it yet. Hopefully this month tho.
Im sure there was one but I wasn't able to locate it. I ended up in the Business Class lounge for around 20 minutes to eat breakfast, but then I was out of there to catch the S-Bahn as Munich was my final destination for that day!
Let us hope you will have the chance to fly Lufthansa 1st from either Frankfurt or Munich. Both lounges will blow your mind. Also, if that is you, drinking or whatever in one of the shots? Great hair!
I've flown both Korean Air and Asiana's A380 between Seoul-Incheon ICN and New York-Kennedy JFK before, it was about 5 years ago and I enjoyed it. I'm excited to try the A380 out on other airlines in the near future

Always liked to fly Lufthansa First Class across the pond. About the same as Swiss and way better than British Airways. BA's first is more like a business class with a wider seat. But the airline I would recommend from North America to Europe is Air France. They call it La Premiere and it is fantastic.
I flew on their A340-300 on the way back from Germany after recording this trip report! I fly to germany very often so I'm sure i'll be able to experience it one way or another@@theaviator_7678
@@idxluaviation Same here, though it was between Frankfurt and Seattle as Seattle is my home. I hope you had a good experience on that flight like I did
I can contest THIS is the airline and plane to travel. I have flown many many airlines all over the world. NO ONE CAN BEAT LUFTHANSA or this aircraft. Just my opinion. You won't be disappointed.
Great video and thanks for documenting the experience. Although, I do not think that Lufthansa has all eight 380s back in service. Last check there were only two, with a thrid about to come online. All eight are suppose to be up in early 2024. Routhes are only MUC-BOS and MUC-JFK currently.
Not sure what happened to my earlier reply, but let me try to do it again. The Lufthansa website shows all eight A380s in active service. However, that is not quite the case. As of today, Lufthansa has three A380s (D-AIMK, D-AIML, and D-AIMM) actively flying, MUC-BOS and MUC-JFK. A forth one (D-AIMN) is back from the maintenance facilty and recently did test flights. #5 (D-AIMC) flew just last week to Manilla where Lufthansa Technik is located, which is the facility that does heavy maintenance for Lufthansa 380s. That leaves the other three (D-AIMA, D-AIMB, and D-AIMH) that are still parked in Spain. Hopefully those will be fully back in service by March 1st. This article is less than a month old and obviously is already out of date in terms of status, but it hits the bullet points airwaysmag.com/lufthansa-to-keep-a380-2030/ @@idxluaviation
You know- they're going to replace this terminal with a whole new facility hopefully by 2030. It's been under construction for a year already, and the first part (which will cover Terminal 2 and the area formerly occupied by Terminal 3) will open in 2026. No more of this outdated, cramped place, as it will close once the first part is open and be demolished for the second part of the terminal- and it looks like it will be as nice as the Lufthansa terminal at Munich Airport is, if not nicer!
Nice review! Lufthansa really needs to upgrade its F product. While I don’t necessarily want an enclosed pod like many carriers have, this cabin seems way too open to me (even with the divider). Other than the hard product (which is the most critical part), the flight looked nice. Again, good job!
I agree; I think SWISS’s First Class on their 777 is an excellent example of a perfect balance of privacy and openness in the cabin (I will try that in December!) Thanks for Watching!
They are upgrading it to a new product with doors, but it will take years. The current F is pretty good and the lack of privacy doesn't bother me at all. It's a pretty solid F product!
Especially nowadays I'd rather see who is around me and I don't have anything to hide. The new FC Product which is coming is a nightmare, especially for people who travel together . I for myself prefer the open cabin.
I believe it is because the gate area is too small for the pilot to eyeball it into the gate... they need a better visual and a whole ground team to park it.
Great video, but I'm just curious about something ... would you go to some fancy five-star restaurant wearing shorts and sneakers? I think not because that might be somewhat disrespectful to others who paid top dollar for the luxurious experience! 10:41
I was going to wear different shoes but unfortunately the ones that I was going to wear hadn’t arrived yet, however I was trying to dress semi casual for the flight as I didn’t know what to expect onboard, I guess you could say I was treating it as a business class flight (which was a mistake).
@adstix Are you seriously trying to teach anyone about decorum?! He's a kid FFS... What's disrespectful is your comment! No one could care less about anyone's attire in "first class" on a plane. Obviously, you haven't travelled first class before.
I know they’re outdated, but I love Lufthansa’s first + business class cabins. They’re so simple and spacious. Some airlines (Emirates) cram as much stuff into their cabins as possible, but that just comes across as tacky, overstimulating, and cramped to me.
"An unlimited drinks bar is available".... like, are there lounges where drinks are limited? and what does a limited drinks bar even mean? Somebody counts how many drinks I have?
Yeah it seems that way, but it wasn’t too bad honestly. Lufthansa will be updating the A380 first and business class soon hopefully though so not for much longer.
It was quite hot out being summer when this was recorded, I was wearing some nice khaki shorts and a collard white shirt which I thought would be appropriate, the crew didn’t seem to mind and shortly after boarding everyone changed into pajamas…
The days of dress codes for passengers has long gone. At one time you would have been asked to change into long trousers. But now virtually anything goes as long as it’s not disrespectful to other passengers.
Yup, I’ve been trying to stabilize them for a long time, the quality of the footage will likely improve in the winter when I get a new camera. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Please. No dirty shoes on the ottoman. Take them off. I don't see the need of using the A 380 from Munich. Far to large. The A 350 would be perfect. Or the A 330-300.
Lmao; I was mad at myself for doing that while I was reviewing the editing, I think the A380 is appropriate because the flight is only daily, maybe if the flight was twice daily, an A350 would be appropriate.
Nonsense. It is a leather-covered ottoman that is designed for people’s feet, with or without shoes. (I happen to change out of street clothes even before take-off but many people don’t). It is - or should be - cleaned after every flight. With respect to the A380 vs an A350, I think that Lufthansa uses the aircraft best suited for demand. If the A380 were half empty on most flights, I’ve no doubt Lufthansa would switch it out.
That was a nice flight. But ... your whole breakfast only consisted of one croissant? If you want more UA-cam followers you're going to have to show and consume more food!! 😅
The entire breakfast was just a croissant yes, considering this flight was around 8 hours long, and dinner service finished around three hours into the flight, I was still full from dinner
You are totally missing the point. Please read my comment again. Nothing discourteous about it at all. If you want to review flights with suitable content please pay attention to what I said for goodness sake.
Next time take of your shoes when uisng the ottoman.. Thats pretty disrespectful to the crew and you ARE on first class.... Other than that mistake great video
It’s pretty common for those that don’t want to remove their shoes and wear slippers provided onboard (Aka preference). Not a big deal. Don’t have to dress/act a particular way just cause you’re flying first class. Just have to be nice. And the crew will appreciate that.
@@Savethemanuals94 IF you think the crew appereciate people having shoes on the ottoman you are 100% wrong. Name one airline that thinks that is a great move
You are absolutely correct. Some idiots have no manners. Just saw an YT post where the (im)poster had his shoes on the (Emirates F) table. That is my dining table! The people who are actually wealthy know how to behave.
I noticed there’s plenty of comments like this in the video… I’ve explained myself a lot already but I’ll do it again - I was wearing a collard shirt and khaki shorts which I thought was acceptable for the very hot summer evening that I flew out on, within a few minutes of being onboard I had already changed into the Lufthansa pajamas provided with me. It’s not that big of a deal…

I’m not of age in the United States, and I’d rather wait until I am.
@@idxluaviation well said!
Do we really need the music? It spoils a good video.
Vraiment La Premiere de Air France est plus privative !
When I saw that wonder of food with coke, I changed the channel :D
I am not able to drink alcohol, apologies that I couldn't drink anything better....
If that’s JFK’s busiest day, must be a recession in USA!
Business class is still quite nice!
21:25 😂
Yup LMAO.
You are totally missing the point. Please read my comment again. Nothing discourteous about it at all. If you want to review flights with suitable content please pay attention to what I said for goodness sake.
7.500 dollar ONE WAY? Jesus😅
Yup, I'm lucky I didn't have to pay full price!
Sorry to say, but this first class looks basic and outdated. Not to speak of the dinner which looks particularly sloppy
The dinner was fantastic and some of the best food I’ve ever had on an airplane, I had a good time.
I was mad at myself for doing that while editing, I guess I didn’t realize how disrespectful it was in the moment…
@@idxluaviation Thank you for saying it! 👍
Your writing you take away so quickly I can't read so fast and watch the movie as well.
@@paseplek hsnks dor the citsitim
rude people who travel first class and put their dirty shoes on the footrests…
For $7500+ you get absolutely NO privacy to the aisle. Horrible.
It wasn't as bad as it seemed, it was hard to put it into video! (Also I only paid around 5,000 USD since I upgraded from Business)
Someone has a rich daddy
Too much noise, i don't liked no talks.
what do you mean?
@idxluaviation your video too much noise hardly to hear it.
Im not talking in my vid and you can turn the volume down tho...@@HaiNguyen-gw7xo
If your going to fly in First Class you should be properly dressed to do so.......Sadly you were not......shorts and a tshirt doesn't get it
I noticed there’s plenty of comments like this in the video… I’ve explained myself a lot already but I’ll do it again - I was wearing a collard shirt and khaki shorts which I thought was acceptable for the very hot summer evening that I flew out on, within a few minutes of being onboard I had already changed into the Lufthansa pajamas provided with me. It’s not that big of a deal…
What a rubbish a380 first class. I would ask for refund.
I think it was adequate, the service was outstanding, especially the security line escort!
A mediocre report with hardly any details and poorly filmed. Suggest you learn from experts like Sam Chui, Jeb Brooks and Razgriz amongst others.
That's a little discourteous considering I spent 40+ Hours Editing this video and tried to include everything that I had filmed.
