Speaking of London Heathrow's terminal 4, in June of 2023, I flew China Eastern, Boeing 777-300ER from Shanghai to London for the 1st time, flight is 90% full and okay, 11 and a half hours, my longest flight in 2023, but the cabin is hot because there is no air vent and the food is underwhelming. Before arriving in London, I don't know which terminal China Eastern goes too, so I ask the crew and passengers, they didn't know until after arriving, but some passengers told me that were arriving in Terminal 4, I didn't know that, my bad, unexpected, wow. After arriving in Terminal 4 in London, I saw 2 Ethiad (can't remember the aircraft type), wow.
Yep, Etihad uses T4 in LHR. Thanks for sharing your experience! It sounds like quite an adventure, even with the hiccups. Terminal changes can definitely be surprising, but I'm glad you made it to London!

Can you choose your seat and type of food when checking in? When going to Bangkok with etihad from London with a connection to Abudabi, do we need to pick up our luggage at the airport and hand it back to the etihad Bangkok flight while boarding the second flight in Abudabi or is it transferred automatically?
Hi there. Let me start with your last question. If Bangkok is ticketed as your final destination from London, then you will pick your luggage at Bangkok. While in transit, you will have to go thru security in Abu Dhabi in order to access to the gates' area. It's easy...just follow the signs. You can select your seat at check-in, but I don't recall about the food. If you do your check in online usually you just need to show your passport and the boarding pass before you drop the luggage. Enjoy and have a great trip!

Yes, I went thru security after landing from BKK. I had a quick layover in AUH I had to add music in order to avoid the noise of my camera banging the window. Then yesterday I had to remove due to a copyright. Passport control was easy and quick and I took a taxi the hotel which was near to the airport. I recommend to take the Heathrow Express to Paddington if you go to London.

Agree! I usually use a GoPro with a suction cup taped to the window to film takeoffs and landings. The 380 has a very wide wall, which makes the GoPro take the image of the wall around the window without seeing the outside as much. That's why I had to use my iPhone this time. I had to add the music because the movement of the plane could hear the noise of the phone banging with the window. Best!

Muchas gracias Jerry por el comentario. Estoy de acuerdo con lo de la musica. Generalmente uso una GoPro con un suction cup pegada en la ventana para filmar los depegues y aterrizajes. El 380 tiene una pared muy ancha lo que hace que la GoPro tome la imagen de la pared alrededor de la ventana sin apreciarse tanto el exterior. Por ese motivo tuve que usar mi iPhone esta vez. Tuve que agregar la musica ya que por el moviemento del avion se escuchaba el ruido del telefono golpiando con la ventana. Un abrazo!
I agree, but unfortunately, I had to do it since I had to cancel out the phone by knocking on the window. If you watch my other videos, they don't have music as the plane takes off and lands.
I agree. My phone was banging the window and the noise was terrible. I had to add the music to avoid that. All my videos don’t have music during take offs and landings.

Etihad Airways is really good. It was very sick before but it has fully recovered from its losses!!
I flew Etihad several times on the last two years. Never disappoints so far.

As far as I know, yes you can. The carry-on goes in the overhead compartment and the personal item under the seat on front of you.
