Why do everyone keeps on commenting abt this. Its 3 basic parts
The dog's aggression reminds me of how humans are: if abused sometime in life, it would change you into a cruel being with no one to love you for your horrible and cruel things you cause later in life. Maybe as a kid or a young animal, you were nice and friendly, but cruel things that happen in life would turn you into the opposite as you get older. This applies to everyone going through harsh times, causing each to pass on to their kids or pets. This movie is just like a rebellion to the cruel world we live in today. Don't fall into violence and pure evil. What ever happened to you in the past, don't let it change you into something evil. It will lead to worse consequences in the future.

This is so heartbreaking since I am such a big animal lover, I have many dogs and I was crying watching this. Animals don’t deserve to be treated this way, and if you decide to take responsibility for their life you should never break that promise. I feel bad for the girl too. This movie should be shown in a lot of places to encourage people to acknowledge animal abuse more.
It always kills my souls to know that there’s people who do this to animals. I just know how much I love my dog and I just won’t ever understand the mistreatment of them..

Really shows how the owner is the one who dictates the dogs personality, when Lili was around him she only introduced him to joy and made him calm with her trumpet playing but as the people who later took him became more aggressive he became aggressive.

Hagen's life after they abandoned him became awfully bad..then his days spent with that evil person that was making him into a killing machine were a living hell..he lost his kindness and purenes..he was no longer a cuddling dog..
This honestly shows how a dog can change from playful and cute to deadly and aggressive..
It was nice that in the end he remember who lilie was by her playing the trumpet

now 15 years have past but i still got nor over it,always hoping my dog did not end up like this

There was a time in my area someone was poisoning dogs, every day people woke up to their dogs dead in their yards and it made my family build kennels for ours. Now the entire situation has everyone so terrified, we only let our dogs out on leashes but supervised just encase they try to nibble something strange. What makes that event even worse, it was at night the person did this.

Sounds like it was a case of peta kidnapping and killing dogs (as they have done many times and still are doing).
When I was a kid. I brought in a stray pup which when my mom found out, thrown out again. I cried so much and when my dad came back he took me on bike and we searched for the puppy all around the town. We couldn't find it but his effort to keep my heart meant world to me.
This movie makes me emotional because this happens in real life and I hope it will change.. The white dog who helped him tho😭 that was so cute.

Dogs are special and should be treated with respect. Long ago, our ancestors feared the night and everything in it. Including wolves. However, at some point the two species would slowly begin to work together. Hunting, socializing, or just giving friendship. A ten-thousand-year bond that developed into Dog and Man. To treat any dog with cruelty is an affront to everything our earlier ancestors went thru.

I had two dogs until few years ago. One died from sickness, other we put to sleep as it was very old and sick. Even today i say home is different since they are gone. I miss them both. Many times they put their lives at stake to protect me. I remember once when they stood against aggressive pitbull, two brave Yorkies stood their ground against massive and dangerous pitbull. It was only arrival of its owner that actually saved my dogs and me. After they were gone, i never had strength to get new dogs. I simply couldnt. To me they were family, part of family, not pets. I hope they earn spot in dog's heaven, they deserve it. RIP. These days i have cat which isn't really mine and bunch of crows (you give few times crows to eat, and they came ever f...day, oh they do give presents, nuts, bones, i wish they bring me golden watch once!.
I like being friends with crows. I walk along a street near my house where there’s a donut shop/ coffee shop and I always feed the crows in the area bits of croissant I get from the shop, they love cream cheese the most! They don’t leave me things because at the end of the day I leave but I always get a vibe that they know me lol

I can watch movies with almost any degree of human suffering (within reason, I'm not a sociopath after all) But movies with suffering animals, dogs in particular, are just too heart wrenching for me to watch. I really appreciate Daniel's character in the movie. White God could have just made him another deadbeat and reluctant dad that becomes a victim and tool for Hagen's rage, but the fact he develops as a person is great in my opinion. He finally realizes what it means to be a dad and understands his faults. Great character

Ill be honest, as someone who loves animals with all my heart this is so hard to watch but it is a reality we must face and us people who love animals must do what we can to protect them and take care of them and love them like these poor babies deserve.
I can't stop crying at this video because I had 4 dogs and one of them resembles Hagen. Jojo is the youngest of 4 and is the biggest of them all. He is also the most gentle dog despite his size, and I remember playing with him a lot. We walked everyday while playing fetch and he always walked beside me, no matter how slow I walked. One day, he took someone's shoes with him and when my dad wanted to take it from him, he bit my dad. It was then that my dad decided that Jojo was too big for us (especially because dad is the only male in the house) and gave him away.
I still miss him until now, even when I know that the ones who adopted him love him a lot.

But the thing I hated about this movie is that they made them kill the landlady, even though she's just doing her job and doesn't have any intention to kill or harm the dog, and also how animal control is portrayed as an evil figure

I couldn't watch it all because of the cruelty of the people, which I know to be true. Are you saying the dog "murdered" people? If that's what happened in the part I didn't see, all I can say about that (unfortunately-not-true) fantasy is "hooray." 99.9% of the time, in reality, it's the other way around. In general, people suck. There are a few exceptions, not enough, though.

The fact that It was just like Planet of Apes but Hagen was not as determined as scissors was ,and also due to difference of breed they came from . Scissor was born special and more determined and here Hagen was just a pet dog with no much determination . Well nice movie .

So sad how humans treat animals. I was never a dog lover but I know the love they have for humans. I know this because I once rented a place where the landlord had 2 dogs, i hated them because I was so scared they'll bite me based on my childhood experiences with dogs. Weeks passed and I got used to seeing them, I'd come back at night to manually open the gate, they'll always come to the gate before I could even jump off the car with their tails wagging. I felt safe and protected. We grew closer and I shared my lunch with them... We were all sad when I moved out, I still miss them. Dogs really do sense a human's heart❤

For clarification I grew up in Hungary and people die from dog attacks. The stray and abandoned dogs travel in packs and they are aggressive and dangerous. Some have rabies. There was a time when I was a kid when my street had many wild dogs tearing up rubbish looking for food and we had to stay inside for our safety. Hungary has no animal right laws and people treat their pets horribly. The animal abuse you hear in the news is heartbreaking. The shelters are overrun and can't survive without donations. I have fed and saved some animals even found a home for a kitten and I am lucky to have an animal loving family. Exotic animals are sold in pet stores like raccoons which I do not agree with and had a friend working in a pet store where the workers were forced to take religious classes.
