Filthy, trashy, smelly, watch where you walk, and what you may be stepping into, or on to. My best friend used to live there, used to lay over between flights to visit friends. He now even refuses connecting flights through LA, it's BAD! So glad you made it through without incident!

Looks like you got the June Gloom in October Lee. Hollywood makes Blackpool look upmarket. Best view of the Hollywood sign is from Gower Street. I also visited those infamous toilets in Beverly Hills, and there were some dodgy characters in there lol, not just me 😂
I believe that scene in Midnight Cowboy “I’m walking here” was completely ad libed and unscripted. Hoffman and Voight were on the crossing when the taxi swoops round. They kept in character and the director kept rolling. The rest is history.
Los Angeles is a dump, unfortunately. I see it's got no better since I was there in the 90s. A lot of people still buy and enjoy CDs, by the way, and their sales are increasing lately.
Enjoyed that. I lived there for ten years, so you know why I moved. Yes, homeless people and cloudy days are not unknown in LA. The evenings can also get chilly in winter. March to May is a traditionally cloudy time. Jon John is a funny LA vlogger.
The people who have been in charge have run LA into the ground. It’s very sad with all the homeless.😢 I lived in Huntington Beach in the 70’s, and downtown LA never looked like it does today. The amounts of garbage on the sidewalks looked disgusting.
Every major city is a dump, get out of the city and you get nice neighborhoods for the most part. I live 20 miles from Downtown and haven't been in over 20 years. California is nice but politics have made it pretty bad

Ahh Lee, should've gone to Carneys on Sunset boulevard for some scoff! Its in an old railway car, the burgers are phenomenal and they do train wreck fries which have fried onions and some kind of sauce on them and they are divine. Also do a good deal on draft beer too! I did enjoy LA but i was last there in 2019 and genuinely think that its gotten way worse nowadays! Judging by your last vid id rather go see San Francisco. My Auntie just drive us around Hollywood quickly, due to it being a dangerous place and very run down, her words. She said you really don’t want to stop at red traffic lights particularly when it’s dark.. she lives in Santa Monica area, where a few family members live. A visit to Venice Beach always worth a wander around. If you see any you must try See’s Candies, absolutely the best chocolates, every year my relatives in California send me a box at Christmas time
The big one for me with Mel's diner was of course George Lucas's American Graffiti. Magical nostalgia for a young generation's car culture the UK never experienced itself.
Just a suggestion for you for next summer Lee. Seattle. Beautiful. Next to the pacific. Music from 1962 at the Space needle. You'll love that. A 14,000 feet high extinct volcano very visible 90 miles to the north and loads of road signs with bullet holes on the road north to it. Like somebody put it there for you mate.

We stayed in LA last year for a couple of days before our cruise, we also had a trip to Hollywood Boulevard, to say American is the richest Country in the World..... I have never seen so many homeless people, very sad 😔

My daughter and son in law visited LA and stayed at the Leowes hotel and you could see the Hollywood sign and hills from their room, they loved it! Visited Santa Monica Pier, Rodeo Drive, Venice Beach etc, they loved it, mind you it was before COVID and they said they saw no homeless! I was worried about them and told them be careful, they had though before this visited New York🤷♀️😂😂❤️❤️

Visited a lot of Columbo locations, quiet a number of which still exist almost unchanged...including the Travel Town train museum where he bumps into the CIA agents, not far from which is Forest Lawn cemetery with a lot of famous people, including to my suprise Marty Feldman also Stan Laurel and Lee Van Cleef. Also went to MacArthur Park....the subject of the song, dodgy area, great big 4 lane road right through the middle, big disappointment, don't know why anyone would write a song about that place. Jimmy Webb must have been Pi$$ed. However, biggest shock for me was Westwood memorial park, we went there to visit grave of Marilyn Monroe and also found Dean Martin and Natilie Wood there as well. It's so small, difficult to find and entered almost by an alleyway surrounded by a multi story car park and high buildings. I have a story related to a horror film, it's young star and Westwood, it's too lengthy to tell here.
Sadly people don't have CDs as a hard item is wirth 95% more time the artist thsn a download where under 3% goes to the artist snd only the corporate scum profit. Technology has crippled musicians and band touring as nobody buys band merch, it's easy to rip them off or buy dodgy copies.
