I also use the magnetic frames. To solve the issue of the painting being too heavy I used a large metal clip. One that you would use to hold a thick stack of paper. Then I washi taped the metal part of the clip to match my painting. So far it works like a charm. Have a wonderful day and thank you for sharing. 😊
Thank you Alysa for the tips for painting the side whit black paint instead of cutting it completly off. I believe it’s more beautiful the way you just showed us. ( sorry for my writing I am french 😊)
I also use magnetic frames and staple gun. I have done a few with E6000 glue, but I usually put staples in the two back frames and some E6000 glue on the front. I probably don’t need to put it on the front because the back top frame is bearing the weight. Thanks for sharing. ❤
Very clever idea! I’ve used magnetic bars for several small diamond paintings, but I’ve used glue to attach the upper bars to each other. The glue is messy & it’s hard for me to keep the bars exactly where I want them aligned while matching the sides & top/bottom of the bars. I’m a bit concerned the staples may split the thin wood bar so another idea I saw in a video was to use a thin line of double sided tape.
Thanks Elaine! I have never had my staple gun split the wood. I use the smallest staple and the lowest depth. Double sided tape may work I wasn't sure if it would stay stuck to the back of the canvas or not
Hi, Alysa! Thanks for a great video. I have bought several magnetic frames & never have finished them yet. I need to get some of the paint, staple gun & etc. and do them. You make it look Easy. Wish me luck. 🍀
I use the magnetic frames quite often, but I often get the teak or white color, but I really like your idea of just using black for all of them! I also just snap them on without securing the canvas, but I think I am asking for trouble. I already have a staple gun and black paint, so I am ready to go!!!!! Thank you so much for your video and your picture looks fabulous. 🥰
Hi Alysa, I wish I was as brave as you to frame, I usually do foam board for all the ones I want to hang. I always let them do it because I know there is no way I could do it nicely. 😂 I get it done at Michaels. But yours looks great!
What an excellent idea! 👏👏I'm always struggling to keep my paintings from sliding out of the magnetic frames because of the weight. I'm definitely going to invest in a staple gun. That is a gorgeous painting 😍
Thanks Alysa. I have often thought about getting a few of these magnetic frames and think I will now. Thanks for all the great tips, especially the staples to hold it better. Have a great day!
Hey this is good information, thank you for sharing. I know this painting is archived, but can you share the artist and the name of it. I believe I saw something very similar recently. Thanks 💛
Nice! I have magnetic frames but I only used them on snack size paintings. I change them once a month according to season or holiday.
Thanks for sharing that is a great idea!

Thank you for this tutorial I like how you painted the edges then used the magnetic frame. I’m new to DP and really enjoy it.

I like the Velcro strips too put on the frame

Thanks!! Yes that front piece should hold tight with just the magnets - saves you a sticky mess too!

Thanks!! As long as your paintings aren't super big and heavy the magnets in the frame may be strong enough.

Once you frame a few things it becomes much easier!

Thanks Carol! This is the easiest way to frame aside from just painting the border and tacking it up on the wall
So interesting to watch even though I don't hang my finishes. Thanks, Alysa!💖
Thanks Sylvia!
Thank you for this video. I've not used magnetic frames before and this is a good alternative to ones I've used.

Thank you!
You’re missing some diamonds above her eye. Right at the brow/hairline.
