They are one of THE best live bands performing shows on planet Earth today, have three full albums of awesome eclectic metal and J-pop fusion (a fusion into a metal sub-genre that they themselves created, and which they call "kawaii metal," or cute metal in English), and have just brought something completely fresh and innovative to metal. If you continue to react to this band you will see just how deep the Babymetal foxhole goes. I highly recommend doing so. Enjoy the ride.

BABYMETAL is one of the very best live bands in the world right now (well, not right now as there are no live shows, but I'm sure you know what I mean). I was lucky enough to see them in London last July a couple of days after they played Glastonbury (don't watch those Glastonbury videos - BABYMETAL were great, the BBC sound engineers and cameramen were crap) and again in February this year. Two of the very best concerts I've ever been to and I saw some of the recognised great live bands in their prime (such as Led Zeppelin, Queen and many more). You daughter is 12 ... the BABYMETAL girls are Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-metal lead vocals and dance - the whole concept was formed around her and her vocal talents), Yui Mizuno and Moa Kikuchi (Yuimetal and Moametal - scream and dance - actually backing vocals, harmonies and most importantly leading audience chants and interaction). They formed in 2010 - Su was 12, Yui and Moa were 11. Sadly Yui last appeared on stage in October 2017, she missed Su's 20th birthday concerts in December 2017 under doctors orders and remained absent for their 2018 tour finally announcing in October 2018 that she was still not fuly recovered from whatever had kept her out and that she would be leaving the band. Su and Moa chose to continue as a duo and since the start of their 2019 tour they have been supported by 3 girls (the Avengers - Kano, Riho and Momoko) who take turns dancing in the third spot). In live shows they are supported by the Kami Band - some of Japan's very best session musicians. They first appeared in 2012 and played a couple of festivals and the encores in a couple of shows. In 2014 they became their full time support in all live shows and have been with them ever since (although there is now a Kami Band of the West who are American musicians and supported them on their US tour in 2019 and the Europe and UK tour in February and March this year). BABYMETAL was the first Japanese band to headline Wembley Arena, the first Japanese (or Asian) band to hit number 1 in the Billboard Hard Rock charts with their third album last year and have won well over 20 of the over 30 awards (for things like best live band) they have been nominated for. How about their very first show in the UK for your next reaction. This was in 2014, Su was 16, Yui and Moa had just had their 15th birthdays. They played Sonisphere (it used to be Knebworth) and, despite being unknown to nearly everybody there, they had been moved from a small side stage or tent with just a couple of months notice to open the main stage on the Saturday morning. They were faced with 50-60,000 UK metalheads looking very puzzled as these three little (Su is tallest at about 5'1" to 5'2") Japanese girls in red tutus walked out on stage. They played 5 songs in their 30 minute set, this was the last song - 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' (IDZ - it means 'Bullying, No More, Forever'). You will hear at the end what the crowd thought of them by the end of their set ua-cam.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/v-deo.html

Thank you for giving BABYMETAL a chance. Here is a little bit of info...In 2019, BABYMETAL became the first Asian artists to hit #1 on BILLBOARD's Top Rock Albums chart with their latest album, "Metal Galaxy". BABYMETAL have performed with, toured, or opened for Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), Metallica, Korn, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, and Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), to name a few of many. Loved your reaction! If THAT was the weirdest thing you've ever seen then you definitely need to check out more Babymetal! I suggest their first video called Doki Doki Morning that they made when they were about the same age as your daughter. I think you'll find it interesting! Babymetal just celebrated their 10th anniversary this month and they've come a LONG way since they began.
Headbanger is about a 15 years old girl going to her first Metal concert. Yui Metal (La Cigale, Paris July 1) and Moa Metal (Live Music Hall, Cologne July 3) sang this song for their 15th birthday during World Tour 2014. ua-cam.com/video/WAOCyq9ktJM/v-deo.html (Clip) Su Metal changed the lyrics from 15 to 20 for her 20th birthday (See Jun 28 live broadcast). It narrated a story of a 15-year-old girl who found a legendary neck corset in a mysterious box that fell upon her from above. According to Yui Metal, the members of the band wore their heaviest makeup for the "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" music video, while Moa Metal felt the fake eyelashes used were pulling down on her eyelids.
No buckfast BabyMetal mess with your head .without any help when you first see them . Then try watching one of the live versions of this song or another one of theres . Your wife got good taste in music . 🤘🦊🤘
Nice one, thanks!! Haha... you were pushed to the Fox Hole, kudos to your wife! Well, welcome to BABYMETAL universe and remember: always expect the unexpected.
Your face was first time viewing BABYMETAL Standard Issue 1a. If you are watching this in Scotland you missed seeing them at Barrowlands this year. There are however some excellent fancams.
Totally agree! Do them live! Their energy and crowd interaction are truely something to behold! Especially when the Metal-Queen Suzuka commands the crowds to do circle pits...that's metal with fun-factor 10.
Sounds like you made the right choice when it comes to women, the wife/mom made the right choice. Babymetal is unique, heavy or soft however they want to be in a song or as metal or as poppy. :-) 19 million you say, ohh, that video hasn't gotten enough views compared to a lot of their other videos. But I think the wife wanted a WTF reaction and got it alright ! One reviewer of a Babymetal album likened it to snorting sugar. Babymetal is one of Japan's biggest exports in the music industry.
Too bad it wasn't the live version. It makes more sense when performed live. The crowd interaction is written into the song. They did that a lot with their early songs and it's brilliant. The 'Oy Oy' is the crowd's part to be performed at live concerts. A lot of other stuff too. Here is a good live version if you want to check it out. ua-cam.com/video/QEsOaMbNFww/v-deo.html The crowd is very much part of the performance. The music video was shot about 2 years after Babymetal was formed and they have been around for 10 years. So this was very early and they're quite a bit older now. The lead singer Su is 22 and Moa and Yui are nearly the same age and are 21. The music video was filmed before they had enough songs to release a full studio album. Most of the songs that later appeared on their first studio album were released first as singles. They have 3 full studio albums now.
There are three bands important from this company. Perfume, One OK Rock, and Babymetal are all Amuse Inc and all are very cool in their own way. Love your reaction and they are a pretty cool live show if a short act.
Your reaction was hilarious😂 from a fellow Glaswegian it was the same as mine but my first song was Gimme Chocolate and genuinely sounded like DragonForce meets chipmunks 😂 Megitsune and Karate are the only official videos you should watch, anything else is best live 🤘🦊
That feeling is normal. First stage is "WTF". Second stage is "This is really interesting". Third stage "damn, it's awesome!". It gets even better when you see a live show. Since you have already seen Headbanger (which is always great live), I recommend an anti-bullying song called "Ijime, Dame, Zettai": ua-cam.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/v-deo.html
Have you heard *The Warning* ? They are 3 sisters from Mexico, now 20, 18, and 15 years old. Their cover of Metallica’s Enter Sandman went viral in 2014 (22 million views). They have an EP and 2 indie albums out and just signed a 5-record deal with Lava/Republic. This is Dust to Dust, from their Queen of the Murder Scene album, a girl’s descent into murder and madness. And the drummer sings lead on this song *while drumming* ! ua-cam.com/video/jhB5OssZB9U/v-deo.html
I'm sure that someone on here has told you, but when you watch and react to Babymetal always watch the live version. It is a much better experience with the crowd interaction, and the show itself is exceptional. The only songs that I would suggest watching the music video would be Karate and Megitsune. Now if you want to watch the live version of Headbanger here is a link to take you there: ua-cam.com/video/YjjWZpf_jSs/v-deo.html Here are a few songs to check out among the many they have done. The band's name is a combination of "baby" (ベビー, bebī) and "heavy metal" (ヘビーメタル, hebī metaru); Heavy metal: ヘビメタ (romaji transcription: hebimetaru) to Babymetal: ベビメタ (romaji transcription: bebimetaru). Yeah Japanese like puns. The band defines its style as a new genre called "kawaii metal" and clarifies that it is "a mix of J-pop idol and heavy metal". The band was formed in 2010, with the original lineup of Nakamoto Suzuka aka Su Metal (Vocal and Dance) (DOB Dec 20, 1997), Kikuchi Moa aka Moa Metal (Scream and Dance) (DOB July 4, 1999), and Mizuno Yui aka "Yui Metal" (Scream and Dance) (DOB Jun 20, 1999), with the concept of creating a fusion of heavy metal and Japanese idol genres. Originally a sub-unit of the Japanese idol group Sakura Gakuin which also was formed at the same year, Babymetal became an independent act in 2013. The band is produced by Kobayashi Key aka "Kobametal" from the Amuse talent agency. Original concept of the band was to introduced the new generation of audience to metal music especially females. On October 19, 2018, Babymetal announced that Yui Metal had decided to leave the band due to undisclosed poor health, following her absence from live performances since December 2017. Gimme Chocolate went viral around Feb and Mar of 2014, with support of BabyMetal fans the organizer booked them for a smaller stage at Sonisphere 2014 (UK). Then online flame war ensued arguing if they are worthy to be there. The flame war grew so intense plus their sold out for The Forum, London concert tickets (7 July 2014), that the organizer bump BabyMetal to main stage by May. This is a stage where people throw bottle of piss towards bands they don't like. So when BabyMetal went on stage, they are definitely worried. After this performance, UK became their biggest market in Europe. BABYMETAL - Ijime,Dame,Zettai - Live at Sonisphere 2014,UK (OFFICIAL) ua-cam.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/v-deo.html
Nice reaction!! Welcome to the foxhole🦊 This is the "kawaii(cute) metal" of Japan. Don't think, feel!! In the lower right corner of the video, you'll see the word "重音部(juuonbu)" in red letters. The literal translation is "Heavy Music Club". These are the names of the clubs they belonged to when they were at さくら学院(Sakura Gakuin). "さくら学院(Sakura Gakuin)" is a growing up-only unit that focuses on school life and club activities. BABYMETAL was born out of the club's "重音部(juuonbu)", which is a derivative of "さくら学院(Sakura Gakuin)". Therefore, the girls in this video with the word "重音部(juuonbu)" on it are young! "重音部(juuonbu)"'s activity is 2010-2012, so SUMETAL(vocal&dance) is 13-15 and YUI(scream&dance) & MOA(scream&dance) is 11-13. When this music video was released (2012/11), SU(vocal&dance) is 14(the year she turned 15)、YUI(scream&dance) and MOA(scram&dance) is 13. "doki doki morning"'s music video was released in 2011, so I think SU: 14 years old, YUI & MOA: 12 years old. In Japan, head banking is called "Hedoban". And the Japanese title of this song is also "Hedoban gyaaaaa". Gyaaaa is a scream, and that's exactly what SU is singing about. It's a song about a 15 year old girl who buys a cheap train ticket to go to metal gigs in various places and dance around. It's a song about the momentary adolescence of a 15-year-old with no regrets. I can't go back to that again. A few moments. I have engraved this on my heart. 15 nights.(1=ichi 5=go の(no)=of 夜(yoru)=night) I think you're very right to watch the music video first. However, live shows are what BABYMETAL is really about, so please watch this one too. - BABYMETAL - Head Bangya!! Well I did leave a suggestion, and link, for the live version of this song in your AC/DC reaction, maybe that's where your wife got it from. If this is the weirdest/mind blowing thing you've seen then I take it you haven't seen any Poppy, Jinjer, Die Antwoord and loads more.
Once the shock is passed, I hope you can make another Babymetal reaction. Every one of their songs is different. Regarding Headbanger, I prefer the live version, because you can feel the great connection with the public. But regarding official videos, my favorite one is Megitsune. Highly recomended. It´s a once in a lifetime experience
Now, watch BABYMETAL - ROAD OF RESISTANCE, Live in Japan. I subbed because your about to fall into the Foxhole hard and I want to help soften the landing!
Ok, wtf seems to me your exaggerated and overreacted, I understand that you need visits and all that and babymetal is a band that will bring you many visits, but the forms of your videos come to be quite annoying and offensive, first they are Japanese, second has a career of more than 10 years, awarded and recognized by the metal community, but at least I recognize that you did the typical thing that is to use chocolate gimme and generate some extra visits to your channel, babymetal is not a band for you.
I have to agree with the other 2. You are allowed to not enjoy their reaction, but no need to go WWIII on them. Also, I don't really think BM is yours to decide who can and cannot listen to. All in all, I think they enjoyed the music, they just don't know it yet, and they don't know what they just witnessed.
@@jeremyboynowski3784 I was not referring to what they can or can't listen to but to look for some extra visits you have to see bm, anyone knows that they make their videos to upload visits and subscribers clearly their "reaction" does everything in a mocking way and trying to make a fool of those who enjoy the band, look I respect anyone who does not like BM because it is their right not to like it and that's fine but I think clowning is quite offensive even more than those who confuse them with k-pop artists.

Yui at APOCRYPHA - Y on July 21st, 2014, and Moa at APOCRYPHA - M later that same day.

Edit:
(Original MV: ua-cam.com/video/2IzR_ClTE8Y/v-deo.html)
This is the MV where it shows where is neck brace (corset) come from in their lore. A tribute to Yoshiki of X-Japan where he is wears a corset after too much headbanging.

Directed by Hidenobu Tanabe (田辺秀伸), who would be named Best Director of that year (2012) at the Space Shower Music Video Awards.
19 million you say, ohh, that video hasn't gotten enough views compared to a lot of their other videos.
This is less a 12-year-old reacts to Babymetal and more of a 40-year-old reacts to Babymetal. :)
I'm sure that someone on here has told you, but when you watch and react to Babymetal always watch the live version. It is a much better experience with the crowd interaction, and the show itself is exceptional. The only songs that I would suggest watching the music video would be Karate and Megitsune. Now if you want to watch the live version of Headbanger here is a link to take you there: ua-cam.com/video/YjjWZpf_jSs/v-deo.html
Here are a few songs to check out among the many they have done.

I see you drinking that bucky. cheers!

Welcome to The One! You need watch more Babymetal, they are absolutely Amazing! Now Megitsune live!! See you in the next 🤟🏻 🦊
1.Round of Resistance live
2. Japan rondo of Nightmare with with the mischief of God's intro live
3. headbanger live legend of 1997 concert
15 nights.(1=ichi 5=go の(no)=of 夜(yoru)=night)
I think you're very right to watch the music video first. However, live shows are what BABYMETAL is really about, so please watch this one too.

Well I did leave a suggestion, and link, for the live version of this song in your AC/DC reaction, maybe that's where your wife got it from.

You have to watch the live version!

They didn't know all that. Best not to attack people and see what they do on a second reaction to judge them.
Be nice, they are both new to this.
Ijime Dame Zettai!
If you're referring to all the swearing it's honestly a standard Scottish reaction to everything. It's not meant as an offensive term
