The Gordons were a very happy clan. There is a tune and a dance that supports that theory.
Gordons are my clan. Recently got a custom made kilt with the Gordon tartan on it. Thanks for the information on where to visit to learn more about the history of the Gordon clan. Going to Scotland is on my bucket list.
My clan also, hail from New Zealand. My great grandfather moved down from a place outside Aberdeen in 1934. My grandfather and dad went there in 2010 and loved it. Hope you get there!!
Hey cousin Gordon clan as well a but back
I've outgrown my Clan Gordon kilt that I ordered hand sewn when I lived in Colorado. I'll have to get measured and order a new one from a company in Scotland.
My clan also.
My grandmother is a Gordon. DNA test confirmed I am half Scottish which came as a shock! Not much mingling I suppose on my dad’s side 😂
Gordon here from New Orleans, LA! Thanks for this video, much appreciated! Can't wait to visit my home country!!
Just recently found out that I am part of Clan Gordon on my mums side! Makes me really excited to learn more.
Thanks from the USA. The oldest Gordon we can trace back in my family tree is from the 1600s Scotland and a Welsh lass. These be my roots. Love you channel
I have an ancestor from Scotland named Lady Anne Gordon. And she was from Aberdineshire! So cool! Thx for posting!
This video makes me happy because this is my clan
We are related then!!

I'd love a video on the cultural differences between the regions of Scotland (the south, the islands, the highlands, etc). Thanks!!
Aidan B all you need to know is that everyone's pretty much the same apart from the Glaswegians

Gordon over here as well
Gordon Clan here!
Hey there, name is Eddie and my DNA from mother's side classifies me large percentage of Clan of Gordon, Duke of the Gordon. My mother's father, my grandfather's family came to the states from Scotland due to some revolt that happened. My dream is to go to Scotland and check into my Gordon history there from all various castles and hopefully find some my family that been carried down to this day. Loved your video, was informative and anxious to see more.
Thanks for the overview of the Gordons. I am a Gordon in my background somewhere. I am a follower of your blogs who lives in NY State. Obviously of Scots lineage. Heather Dunbar
I am surprised I didn’t see your video sooner. If I moved to Scotland, my name would mean something. I’d love to see more about Clan Gordon.
Awesome! Been watching your channel for a couple of weeks now. Found you through Diane Jennings channel. I was excited to stumble across this by change when doing a google search for Gordon things so I had to watch what you had to say! I've been doing my family's genealogy for the last 19 years and I am a Gordon from my paternal grandmother (ne. Alice Gordon) so this was a pleasant surprise. My wife is clan Armstrong (bunch of border reivers apparently) from her mothers side. We're from Fort Worth, Texas, US. Love your v-logs, and enjoyed this surprise. Keep up the great videos. (thanks for also referring me to your fellow Scot v-logger Shaun. He's great too.
Clan tartans are the original "gang colors."
No. I didn’t see you at the clan reunion back in ‘09.

Excellent choice for your first clan! I'm a member of the Gordon and represent them here at all the Highland games in Michigan, loved the video! Canny wait to see more of these!
My grandfather was a Eugene Gordon from Midland Michigan. My brother was a bastard so still carries the Gordon name although I do not.
Awesome video, my family descended from Gardners, of the Gordons. Liked the video, disclosures and castles included! Great work!
you are correct. Gardners are a sept of Clan Gordon. Gordon is a Norman French name. It came to Scotland in the 12th century at the time of the peaceful Norman Conquest under King David I
Me too!
Thank you for you work in this. Interesting to see from the comments how far and wide the Gordons have spread around the world.
Thank you very much for the video.
Stay and fight is such a Gordon moto! My entire family thinks this way. Super interesting!
One of you best videos ever... Excellent work!
Hey Mosco, I know this doesn't follow the topic of this video, but have you ever thought of doing a video showing off the Mountains and Wildlife of Scotland? America is full of amazing examples of Nature. I'm just kinda curious what it's like on your side of the pond...
Recently found your chanel and am thoroughly enjoying it. As time allows and if the mood strike you could you maybe please do Clan Buchanan. Although I am American I have a fairly healthy Scottish ancestry among other European backgrounds. Thank you for your videos and content. Cannot think of any type of video you do that I prefer, loving them all . A bit of this and that keeps it from becoming stale.
I recently discovered that this is where my family derived from. thank you for the info!
Love this stuff! I'm American and don't know a ton about it other than the very basics (ie it existed. hahaha) so I find it pretty fascinating. Also, because I haven't said it in awhile, #MoreBagpipes lol
Your comments always make me laugh xD
RandomCrap I play bagpipes, does that count?
CamJam 312 if you play them where I can see/hear it, then yes!
RandomCrap I have some videos of me playing them on youtube, but they are nearly a year old
RandomCrap Hearing the bagpipes runs a chill through my body that only my Scottish ancestors should recognize. I've read that o negatives have strong psychic connections to their past if that is true, I don't know, but I do know that I can feel them when I hear bagpipes play.
Hi there, Mosco!
Just this morning my history lecturer - great woman, you see - showed us about the Battle of Culloden as well as the Highlands Clearances, emphasising the enormous impact they had on the Scottish society. Would you mind uploading a short video about it, please? It seemed to me really fascinating and I would love to hear your thoughts on it.
Thank you in advance! :D
Oooohhh! I've been to Huntly Castle. I had a minor moment of excitement when you mentioned it :)
That’s so epic
Absolutly love your videos. Always very delivered in a very interesting manner. Thank you!
Don’t care
Hello thank you for sharing this video with us all. On my paternal side Sir Adam Gordon
1474-1537 is my
16th great-grandfather. Not close but it’s there. This video was awesome keep up the excellent work.
Greetings Lass! Our Family is of Clan Gordon living in Canada.. Since my Grandfather, Colin Gordon, died a few years ago I've been interested in finding out where we came from and I thank you for doing these intersting Clan vids. May I ask what Clan you are from?
I’m from the clan Gordon so this video was very helpful and I was so excited to see this
love the clan video. more,more,more.....i am Irvine but i've done a wee bit of research myself so no rush, love.......e
Gordons RULE!!!!!!
Awesome ! I live in Texas, I'm 53 and have a Gordon kilt that I love and I wear with pride for my Scottish relatives and ancestors who also wore this tartan well. I had my kilt made in Aurora, Colorado years ago and it barely fits now but I got it fastened tight. Years ago while I was still living in Colorado my mother discovered while doing genealogy research that one of our ancestors was a Pictish warrior. I too have ink on my body.
oh and i love all your videos mosco your smiling happy lass
I’ve been looking into my ancestry for a while now. So happy this video came out, giving me a little insight.
I started on my genealogy last year but I haven't gotten far with it mostly because I work on a farm and not much else... anyways I found out on my mom's side my ancestors are English and Scottish. That is as far as I got... pretty sad. I know My grandma's maiden name was Carr and her parents moved to America after she was born (youngest of 3) so I looked up the name on Google. It was very interesting. About a month later my best friend surprised me with an opportunity to travel to Scotland and I am soooooooo 😁 excited. The landscapes are so gorgeous. I love taking pictures of landcapes. I plan on filling up my phone with pictures and learning more about Clan Kerr and maybe learn more about my ancestry. SO EXCITED!!!😃
hey mosco, i'm from germany and i love your videos :) sometimes it's difficult to understand the scottish english, but i try my best :P i just wanted to say that i reeeaaallly enjoy your videos about scotland and every time you upload something, i'm totally freaking out :D Please feel free to correct my english, if there's any mistake
Cool video! Our Gordon direct line ended very recently with my mom, whose father had no sons. My cousin has been to visit the castles, I hope to one day as well!
I love all of your videos, Mosco! :D Also can you do Clan Campbell? I don't descend from any clans at all, but I've known a lot of Campbells in my life and they seem to be a big one.
I very much like the idea of your vlogging about various clans. TBH I think the videos I like best by you are when you get together with someone else or a group of friends and go out doing things. But please don't get me wrong - you're perfectly charming on your own, as well.
Right here! A real descendent of clan Gordon! Born and raised Scottish, in fact, a lot of my family are from Aberdeen shire but we moved into the city instead.
Have you seen Tentallon castle? And could you do the Stewart clan please:):):). You rock absolutely love this channel, keep it classy!
Moscooooo, I LOVE THIS KIND OF VIDEOS. :D :D D More of this, please!
Hi, I would love to see any information on clan Crichton. I will be visiting Scotland for the first time in late April. My mother is a Crichton but we are not sure of the exact line. Love all of you vlogs!!!
proud of my clan , found out Sean Connery was of clan Gordon too!!!! Oi!!!! from The Texas Clan of Gordon
Really? The O.G. 007? I descend from the Teal sept of clan Gordon.
Hey! i'm so surprised that there were vids on my clan, i just searched it on yt, this is so cool!, i'm Luke benjamin gordon btw!
Beautiful tartan
I’m an American but my ancestors were Of Clan Spens of the Scottish lowlands my family on that side were Burnside & Campbell. I believe the clan started in the 1200’s. I just found all this out so would love to know more 💜 Great video!
Great video! If you're interested in the Gordon family, do consider joining the Facebook Page for the clan society. You can find it at facebook.com/houseofgordon. We post regularly about Gordon family history and news! :-)
Thanks for the vid n links 👋👍🇬🇧🏴
If it is not too much trouble could you please look at Clan Crawford. I would be very interested in what you find. Love your videos. Thank you so much. :)
Thanks for doing this!!
This Gordon loves ya. Thanks a ton.
My mum is from a sub-clan of Gordon.btw are you going to do another Scottish horror video? I know you did it a while ago but it was really interesting. Love from Aberdeenshire
It's great to start with the best. Thank You ;)
first mosco, love all ur vlogs. keep it up. I'm a descendant of Logan clan of Edinburgh. if u get to that great. if not is cool to. u got a lot going on. keep it up hun. love ya.
Love your stuff! If you could do a vlog on the Bruce clan. my paternal Grandmother is 100% Scott from Bruce Clan. Thank you Mosco.
I hope no one watching this video think of William Wallace from Braveheart, very historically inaccurate
Gillan Whyte ikr
CamJam 312 True, I concur. There were people depicted in the film that weren't even of the correct timeline! lol
Yeah I kinda figured the movie wasn't accurate
The film is inaccurate but it is based on Sir William Wallace, correct? Who did fight for Scottish independence, right? Or is that wrong as well?
Well I'm 3rd gen American Scot and we are descendants of clan Gordon so proud to be in a line of people=Scot/celt or Gaul not broken since the bronze age somehow we keep going
Oh and truly enjoy your videos on the culture and people of the country
A friend of mine (years ago) whose maiden name was Gordon had a plaid bluish-green wool shawl-with-a-hood thingy that she wore in cold weather. Came to find out later that the design actually was the Gordon plaid!
She's doing this video about the best clan around, Clan Gordon. We'll done wee Scottish lass !!
Well.
I mainly linked to Clan Hamilton and my wife is Clan Fraser (not Fraser of Lovet, however). If possible, would you be able to show a map of where that daily clan is from? It would be great for those of us who cannot afford to travel overseas.
I love when you do the comparison vlogs, ie, when you try snacks from the US or Germany.
I am quarter Hawaiian so I will sign off with "Aloha no au ia 'oe" which means I luv ya, too!
WeeScottishLass - Great video. My family is from MacLeod of Harris (though I'm from the US). I'd love a MacLeod of Harris video please. :)
I played a Scottish vampire that was a proud Gordon. Duncan Montgomerie Gordon, in a LARP for about three years and so did a lot of research on the clan.
”Bydand!”
clan, clan, clan, clan, clan. I love all your vlogs. keep it up lass, and no I am not even close to being scottish
As a Gordon descendant I must say you researched pretty deep. From America it's harder to get some of the older documents but I have some info you didn't talk about I can share.
really cool vid, nice to hear about some of the history. may i ask which clan is yours if you know, i will go first. my clan is McGregor from what my dad tells me. his family goes back to Scotland a long time ago, a couple of brothers moved to england and out to australia. that is all the history i know. i did find the tarten a long time ago but can't remember what it was. sorry if i spelt it wrong, i am born and breed australian.
another great video thanks xx
I know you work a lot, but l would like to see more Mosco out and about in Scotland! 😺
Awesome, I'm a member of Clan Keith!
Family motto is Veritas Vincit or "truth conquerors"
Wahey! Huntly. A lot of Gordon stuff in Huntly.
Clan Douglas please. really enjoy your videos
Brad Dickey Tom Hiddleston who plays Loki is also Scottish threw his father's side
You ALWAYS want to start out with the best clan!
Your accent
I would love to see a clan Hall video.
I live in Texas, I'm 56, I'm Clan Gordon and very proud of my Scots-Irish ancestry. My Gordon kilt is recently drycleaned, in my bedroom closet and ready to be worn on a special event, my birthday on November 29.
+WeeScottishLass Thanks for this video and the idea of the series. I would love to hear about the Murray / McMurray Clan (my father's grandmothers were Murray and McMurray--although they were Irish by birth). My surname Dorman is controversial. My sister insists it is a sept of the Campbells of Breadalbane but I have read that Dorman / Dorward was a clan of its own, so if you come across anything on this, I would love to hear about it. My father's parents were both from Port Glasgow. Thanks! :)
Aww this is so interesting I'll definitely have to look into clans of scotland ^^
Didn’t ask
@@okboomer5338 okay boomer
I just found out recently I'm linked to the Gordan clan..from my Grandmother on back generations they are Gordans..we now have a Gordan blanket with the proper colors..💖
Hi Mosco I am Scottish as well and I know about the weather😁. I live in Ayrshire the west coast of Scotland and one day I would love to meet you. Have you ever been to Loch Ness Mosco?
Hi Mosco, I would like to thank you for every braw vlog. I'm not Scottish but I'm totally and completely in love with a Scot....❤😍 Could you tell me more about his clan? Clan McLaren or MacLaren!
Grandad was a Gordon from Aberdeenshire. They were warriors. Grandad was SAS on D-Day and landed on Sword Beach, Normandy. They beat the Nazis out of Normandy and pursued them. Grandad was stood down in Paris and given the task of protecting a Hospital. They expected the Nazis to push back on Paris, but they went after the supply lines in Holland hence Battle of the Bulge. Needless to say I am very proud of him, my heritage and the fact Gordon Clan roots can be traced as early as pre 1200's. And not all Gordons are Gordons, many took the warrior name. Robert the Bruce gave lands to the Gordons in Aberdeenshire after the Battle for Independence. It's fascinating stuff.
my family comes from clan Grier. interested to see more of this series. :)
A member of the American branch here. Also born and raised in Texas. Via the Crawford line
I love this it's very informative
we've traced my mother's mom's side to the Burnette of Leys up in Aberdeenshire. they have a castle there called Crathes Castle that is now like a museum. apparently it was in the family from I believe the 1500's to the 1950's.
Let's go Gordon's let's go!!!:)
Bwahahaha XD, Of course its #1 , That my clan! Thanks for the shiney video.
Could you do Clan Fletcher please? From my genealogy research, I've gotten my family history back to that clan and I have found some pretty funny stories about them being smart asses as well as being pretty tenacious.
I love your intro!
I don’t care
I'm not a Gordon, but some of my ancestors are. I got invited to join, I think it was the North Carolina division of the House of Gordon when I was at the Scottish Festival in Franklin, NC several years ago. FYI there is a museum on Scotland in Franklin, and as far as I know there's a Scottish Festival once year. They had Irn Bru, I didn't get any because I thought it was beer and I don't drink. -__-
I did not join the group, it was too far from where I lived.
Adam Gordon, who died in 1333 was my 22nd great grandfather.
Hey Mosco! Do Clan Lindsey if you could plz!! I would love to hear about it! Thanks from the US.
Clan McRoberts, Dunbartonshire/Stirling, S central Highlands been considering a research trip there, cheers :)
Doing ancestry research, I discovered that not only am I a descendant of Clan Armstrong on my paternal grandmother's side, I am a direct lineal descendant of Johnnie Armstrong, one of the most infamous Border reivers and resident badass. Alas, when playing survival video games, I cannot raid rival clans to save my life, so I can't imagine being an actual reiver. I enjoy the safety of not surviving on reiving but I'm also pretty psyched that my ancestors were reivers. It's like the medieval Wild West.
House of Gordon information can be located here: www.scotweb.co.uk/info/gordon/
Gordon family came from France the name was little different but then became Gordon over time . Gordon highlanders as well
I love it. My husband is a descendant of Clan Gordon.
Need to go back to when Malcom Caenmore (Bighead) fought McBeth for the crown. The Norman knight Adam deGourdon travelled north with him from the English court and was rewarded by King Malcom for his support by lands in Berwickshire
