Listening for LAYERS in the music - Shuffle Dance Tutorial - Alex Kennedy

Can you see/hear the difference when I switch?!🤪
This is where GROOVE and MUSICALITY is created in dance.
The ability to switch back and forth between different layers of the music, accentuating different beats and sounds.
PRACTICE TIP 💡:
•put on a song you know INSIDE AND OUT
•try freestyling MAINLY to the bass (probably what you normally do)
•then, try freestyling to the accent sounds and the melody (the melody is often a VOCAL - so if your track has singing, use that too!)
•once you can CLEARLY hear both layers, start mixing both in 1 round like I’ve done here.
