- The Bajaj Pulsar is a motorcycle brand owned by Bajaj Auto in India. The two wheeler was developed by the product engineering division of Bajaj Auto in association with Tokyo R&D, and later with motorcycle designer Glynn Kerr. Currently there are five variants available, with engine capacities of 135 cc, 150 cc, 180 cc, 200 cc, 220 cc and 400 cc (Renamed Dominar before release) Previously it was also offered with a 200 cc DTS-i oil cooled engine, which now has been discontinued. Instead a new version Pulsar 200NS was launched in 2012. But then Pulsar 200NS production was discontinued in August 2015 (to be reintroduced in early 2017 with BS IV Emission compliance). With an average monthly sales of around 86,000 units in 2011, Pulsar claimed a 2011 market share of 47% in its segment. By April 2012, more than five million units of Pulsar were sold.

I have Pulsar 150 2008 model till now there is not a single problem, running like a brand new bike fully Satisfied with the quality &Style of the bike feeling proud of my Pulsar it gave me all in life ,also have Pulsar 220F 2014 model, both no problem in perfect condition.

well, I'm from Indonesia and I just bought a used 2008 pulsar DTS-I with 180cc engine displacement which look like 2006 pulsar in this video. But, man..the 2003 or the 2nd generation pulsar look like honda tiger (Indonesian GL200). Only if pulsar stayed in Indonesia and release those 2nd generation pulsar with a little change to its engine, it might be a hit, as motorcycle customization became so popular in Indonesia, and that 2nd generation pulsar just look perfect to be customized. I'm so happy for the performance of my pulsar, it's enough for me, especially the suspension, so soft :D. I also loved Bajaj strategy of making lots of variation in engines displacement, it makes it easier to do performance upgrade, like bore up and such,
If Bajaj could use a more common parts which also used in Japanese motorcycle, I believe it will increase the change of competing against its Japanese counter part in Indonesia.
Btw there's still TVS in Indonesia, I wonder if some of Apache 180 parts could be use as substitution for Pulsar 180, any information, guys?

Hii, nice to know that man, personally i hate the modern pulsar as it looks like owl and if you stand a rs 200 besides rc0200 ktm ktm just looks too good and perfect proportion bike whereas pulsar looks wide and not so good

I am not sure if TVS and Bajaj parts are interchangeable. They both are designed differently from what I know. maybe u can get alloy wheels, indicators, etc but anything apart from that I personally won't recommend.
also Bajaj has a very extensive sales and service. Indonesia is a big market and I'm sure every part is available. If not try asking a local dealer.

the pulsar 220 was initially a fi but later became carburetor, due to the less fuel efficiency on the fi variant(the reason is the typical Indian mindset: kitna deti hei bhai on even a 1000cc motorcycle)
subash biker the dtsfi was failure because of faulty FI system which was made by Delphi-tvs.

2005 model Pulsar. 17 years... My buoy has never failed me ever... apart from a few punctures!. Trend setter at the right era, may be after CBZ, but still if it was not for Bajaj, Indian market would have been stuck with splendor (which is again an amazing family bike) . Too bad Hero Honda R&D was not that update when it was necessary and Bajaj took that piece of pizza with proper upgrades, updates and variants. Everytime I see my Buike, its like me seeing my Buoyfriend, (I ain't gay but he is definitely male ;) )

I still like the looks of the first pulsar. Bajaj should launch a retro version of pulsar.
Bought my new pulsar ns200 ABS on 15th January 2018 from bagga link Bajaj show room , after doing lots of online research and putting down my hard earned money.
Since the next day of taking delivery, the low oil pressure indicator started glowing on the instrument cluster.
Reported this to dealer was told not to worry and bring the bike to them.
Now my ordeal with bajaj and bagga link started. Took the too them , light refused to glow up then... It happened multiple times. Showed them the pictures of glowing malfunction light, they weren't trusting me.
On my fourth visit to dealer , was finally able to show them the glowing malfunction, they did some adjustment and malfunction didn't back for that day, it was back again from next day.
Tried reaching to Bajaj through mail and customer care no. got a message that my complaint has been registered and dealer will assist me further, next day received a message that my complaint has been resolved.
Happened three times, without solving the issue.
Had to create a scene at the service centre just to get my bike checked, and the technician allotted was doing the same thing, he refused to believe the malfunction actually glowes unless he sees it himself , not trusting me or the photos.
He started revving the engine maniacally upto redline, while the engine was still in run-in period.
Had to give him and the manager a piece of my mind.
After that got engine clutch cover replaced, wiring harness replaced , oil pressure switch replaced , CDI unit replaced and also the instrument cluster swiped but still the issue persists.
Meanwhile , main fuse got blown and had to push the bike till service centre.
And radiator fan also gone kaput.
All this in just a month of ownership.
I am not able to get any support from bajaj and the people at the dealership are no good.
Really regretting the decision of getting this bike.
Need help on proceeding the issue further

As much as I hate to admit it what the previous reply said is accurate. Bajaj pulsar is a bike which will run well for like 1 year. After that even with good maintenance and shit you can feel your bike decaying in front of you helplessly. The parts are shit and service provided is shit as well. I have seen KTM, Yamaha and Honda take special care of their premium bikes something which Bajaj neglected from a long time now. Don't hate me for this comment I am a pulsar owner as well.

Pulsar was going down in market because they stopped manufacturing ns 200 and replaced it with AS model. AS didnt do it well so they had to bring ns 200 back in the market and yeah ns 200 was the most favorite bike among the youngsters before the AS model came up and yeah rs 200 too

The only all rounder bike in pulsar series is pulsar 135 LS which gives you sporty look, satisfying mileage and adequate power & speed one of the best bikes of pulsar but not performed well in indian market but pulsar know it's a all rounder bike that's why pulsar trying to relaunch it in India in 2019 again with same looks but with variety of colours but also with different 125cc engine called pulsar 125 NS ...............🙏😃 pulsar 135LS has very low maintenance.......✌ cost ...........

Pulsar 180 came first and 150 followed and not the other way around and before the 220 Fi was launched . Pulsar 200 was launched.
Less known fact that the Pulsar 150 had a terrible gear issue as it would often slip and hence they came up with the 1 down 4 up Gear system after a long cry from the customers.

Pulsar 150 and 180 were launched simultaneously with electric start & disc brakes as standard. Your analysis is factually wrong. I myself bought Pulsar 180 in 2002 and still own it. Damn fantastic street bike. I also own the Dominar 400 now.
