- In this video Greg and Beth (Greg's wife) visit with Heather from @KuzweKanfarms and Kimmie from @wakingupcountry . We were excited to have them over to show them our sawmill and sawmill cover and of course talk sawmilling. Heather has a Woodmizer LT35. Kimmie is learning all about country life and shares her experiences. If you haven't checked out their channels and subscribed, you definitely should. They are great ladies who work very hard and are also building a barn from @BarnGeek . We will be visiting their place to help out and see their barn progress soon!
Greg is milling another log and making more board and batten to help finish up the sawmill shed. He also takes a little walk to share what Erik has been working on at his house! Did you know we are neighbors?
Did you know we are also building a barn?! If you haven't followed along with our BARN Build, make sure to check out that series in our playlists. We recently finished the foundation. Our next step will be milling the lumber for this build. We have A LOT of milling in our future.
***If you haven't checked out our Sawmill Cover Build from the beginning, definitely check out the playlist at the end of this video. We have shared the process of building this sawmill cover from the very beginning. We have a Woodland Mills HM130 Max sawmill and live in North Idaho. This sawmill cover / sawmill shed is vital to continue milling in the winter months, but it will also be a great way to keep out of the sun during the summer months, and of course all of the rain, in between! We are excited to complete this project, so we can continue milling lumber for our barn build.
Here are the specs on the sawmill cover / sawmill shed we are building:
3 posts in the front
4 posts in the back
Overall dimensions are 15 feet wide by 36 feet long
Longest beam is 28 feet
Front part of the lean to roof is 11'9" and back is 8'
It will have a 3 :12 pitch
Posts and beams are going to be 7 1/2" x 7 1/2"
We have shared the entire build!

Wow! Thank you, I appreciate you guys so much!
We appreciate you, too! We are excited to share and use your barn plans! 😊
Howdy y’all- first I want to say “ thank you “ to you and the ladies for your service to our country. I really appreciate what you all are doing up there. Hope you have a great weekend. God bless
Thank you - Heather and Kimmie have a bond that happens in the military. I have a handful of friends from my time in the Army and we would do anything for one another. Thanks so much for watching! 😊
Greg, it was nice you chatted with the ladies and they helped you turn and cut the big log. You will have a nice selection for your board and batten the enclose the mill cover. Blessings to you.
Thank you, Bill! We are excited to get the board and batten up and share the sawmill shed. Thank you for always watching! 😊
It was so great spending some time with you all and seeing what’s going on there on your homestead. I look forward to seeing your progress on your build. 😊
Thank you! We were happy to have you over! We can’t wait to see your place and give a helping hand! 😊
Loved the walk to the neighbors 😊
Thank you! Almost seems like we should create a real path! 😂
I love that you guys are right next door. 👍🏻
Definitely!
Excited to check out their channels, too! Nice work on that log!
Thank you! All, great channels and wonderful people! 😊
Good job on the log. It produced a lot of lumber. If the Genie comes up for sale, jump on it. It will make your barn build a lot easier and safer. When you are done with it, you can sell it and get most of your money back and have saved the rental cost.
Thanks for the video
Thanks, Mike! Definitely pursuing the Genie - we'll let you know! 😊
I use to watch a show that took down old barns and remake them to homes . It was fascinating. Can’t wait to see your barn build.
Barnwood Builders is a show that we watch - super cool to see those old barns come back to life. We wonder if someone will convert our barn into something 100 years from now...we hope so! Thanks for watching! 😊
Greg, I still think ya gotta Patent using that 12" mud knife to clear off the sawdust. Still impressed.
🤣 Thank you, Tim!
Awesome video!
Thank you! 😊

I just rented a 66' for a week trimming trees...scary...scary. I'm jealous if you get it. How many hours on it?
Erik has a phenomenal house/property. Now to go check out Barngeek
That Genie has 4164 hours. Let us know what you think about BarnGeek - I definitely got the Barn Bug! 😊
Hey
Welcome! 😊
New subscribers Good video enjoy it Lady friend you have there I subscribe to them they have a good channel So enjoy your day stay safe stay healthy and we'll catch on another one
Thank you for joining us! Yes, Heather and Kimmie are great! Do you have a sawmill, too?
Yes I do have woodland mill
I think Log Rite makes an 84" cant hook for those pesky giant logs you have.
Hi, that extra leverage would come in handy but I have a plan to put an electric winch above the sawmill that should help out on those heavy logs. Thanks for watching! 😊
