Hi Pete, glad you got my filters! These Mando filters can be fetched locally for around $8 bucks. I was able to find that this filter has a 98.5% efficiency at 30 microns from a Korean page I translated. I bought it to try it out, but went instead with a bulk 6 pack box of Champs PH2876 (same as SuperTech ST6607) for my Honda Acty. I use it as a farm work truck, which I also use to get around locally in town and go get some groceries as well, pretty neat thing from Japan. Take care, and best wishes from Puerto Rico!
Hi Cesar
Thanks for the oil filters and Thanks for Sharing that information👍
Take Care, back at you from the USA😊
Thanks for sharing, Cesar!
I would go with Mando
This is the way
With better media and a silicone ADV, it would be about perfect.
I ‘d go with wix because better media and bypass valve location
Perhaps BOTH are good then just go with shorter intervals to be Safe is always a good option 👍
Mando is part of Halla/ HCC they are a large OEM parts suppliers for both GM & Ford as well as Hyundai & KIA, they are big in the automotive air conditioning & cooling industry produce compressors ,condensers & radiators ,they also make brake calipers for GM.& Korean manufacturers....they also produce heavy equipment such as front end loaders & excavators,....it's a large manufacturer, I would definitely trust these filters, they are a tier 1 suppliers for Ford ,GM & Hyundai Mobis group & others
Hi Mark
Thanks for that Info👍
Did you sell Daewoo parts around 2002? I think I bought parts from you
I would have easily chose the Wix several years ago but since M&H took over they’re using more offshore filters than they used to. Most of the filters I have seen coming out of Mexico have very sloppy construction with glue everywhere and filter media unevenly spaced.
I see 4612 and immediately thought “hmm mid 90s Honda?” And sure enough lol. I worked for about 15 years in parts houses, and I’ve been out for 3 years but those part numbers are stuck in my head forever lol
The wix filter is kinda getting expensive for the level of quality. The mando looked pretty good
Everything has got to be overpriced due to inflation. It’s really put the pressure on blue collar families trying to make it.
My closest O'Reilly is about 233 miles away. Usually when I am on vacation I’ll grab a higher end Micro Guard or 2 for each of my cars. I really like those filters. I used to get the Wix but after seeing the insides, I feel the same way
So nice of Caesar😊. A great review and sharing. 👍, TFS Pete. Stay cool 😎
Thank You Merri👍
I am looking into oil separator/ sealed catch can pcv crap trap. Thin oil blowby seems to be very common. Hope to keep my toyo taco clean. The 5w30 full syn with gas clean stopped soot in exhaust. Upped mileage 3 mpg so far. Changing all lubes, and then transfluid, plugs next. 36,500 miles. Oil filter is puro one 20195 now. A new one season jd s110 mower on second oil change has silver in oil at 45 hours. 30 hours on toyo filter is a cuirious adventure. Boing boing bro!
Thanks for Sharing, boing boing😊👍
Nice Job, Pete, thanks for sharing, Cesar! I do like the upper bypass valve on the wix, but that is a teeny tiny filter! and the sloppy construction is not exactly a selling point either. I never heard of Mando before but I have to say it is a nice well made filter. I would go with the Mando. The filter media is thicker but there is hardly any of it! I think only the John Deere filter you opened was smaller. And that went on a lawn tractor!
Thanks, Jim👍
@@WhipCityWrencher Anytime, Pete!
i think buying wix nowadays is a waste. they seem to be consistently looking worse and worse. thanks for the video
You're Welcome👍
@@lukeWiz44 So far they haven’t messed with their heavy duty filters for off road diesel equipment. They are the best quality made imo and are made in Gastonia, NC. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before M&H outsources them too but until then I will keep buying them. I’ve stopped buying their automotive filters because my part numbers are all being made on China now.
As always a lovely and informative review. Many thanks Whip please keep it up! 😊
Thank You👍 I'll try😊
Thanks Pete!
You're Welcome!
The Wix has all of my preferred features (silicone anti-drainback, base end bypass, coil spring). If it just had more filter media...it would be the clear winner for me.
I agree
Good video Pete. 😊
Thanks, John👍
Hi whip great details
Thank You👍
Happy weekend
Happy Weekend👍
I like how the thumbnail clarifies that we are talking about a South Korean filter... Cause the North Korean one will disassemble you instead!
Good day friend have a great weekend
Thank You, Have a Great day Also👍
Go with Mando. Even though Wix is known brand the Mando has more filter media and size is bigger.
I'm thinking the wix only because it's a better filter media and you got spec's for it and the bypass valve
Nice job
Thank You👍
Thanks, Pete and Ceasar.
I am really disappointed in the Wix filter. Clearly, quality control is falling short. The Mando filter was clean and well made.
You're Welcome Jonathan, Thanks👍
The gasket on the Mando filter could be thicker. I would lubricate it before sticking it on and I wouldn't try to buy them in bulk and store them a long time as the gaskets seem to suffer from drying out over long storage periods. Overall, the Mando for no greater than 5k intervals unless you use full synthetic, which could extend it to 7,500.miles possibly with the right oil.
For the money you would think the wix filter would be just as tall ! But for the application the mando would do just fine ! And $5 less ! Mando for the win !! 👍
Thank you for the review. Next time could you measure the diameter of an inlet hole with your caliper please?
Take care of yourself Pete.the pull it apart mind is a 2 way street. Take care.
Thanks, Jason
Hi , I love your Content can you plz compare motercraft filter FL-2142 NEW VS FL-820S OLD
👍
I buy Korean-made Mann+Hummel filter. Excellent quality
Mando is better. But is it better than the Union Sangyo C-561M that was in the previous video?
At 2:57, look at the excess glue in the bottom of the filter. Glue on the outside of the filter media is not so dangerous because even if it comes loose, it still must go through the filter, well unless the filter goes into bypass. Glue like this filter, if it breaks loose, it can go straight into the engine.
True it can, this one had a lot, but almost every oil filter has some excess glue holding the endcaps to the center cores. I'll try to make it a point to show the excess glue in them center cores. Thanks👍
@@WhipCityWrencher You do a great job pointing things out. Keep up the good work.
@@m8s4lif Thank You, I appreciate it😊
[I, BUY A LOT OF WIX FILTERS]
Granted that the 656c engine is motorcycle sized, but they work HARD in those little trucks. Was thinking that the gasket thickness might depend on the durometer rating of the rubber. Is there an "affordable" durometer tester to check the gaskets? If it's $$$, maybe we can all chip in?
I don't know?

If you were to pick a filter which one would you pick to use in your own vehicle seeing you have reviewed many
I like the Purolator Boss oil filter, that's what I have in my vehicle right now. Thanks👍
Tgif
Have you noticed a difference in quality of a Wix filter from Mexico vs China?
I could have but I don't remember opening any Wix filters made in China. The Mexico-made Wix filters are awful though.
Mando by a mile. Not even close. You gotta be a wix fanboi to choose it over the mando here.
10:17 I did choose the Mando.
Wrong pick again by media quality filtering! You need to check the fabric mando is using to this filter firts.
Wow! Wix filter is cheap. Too small, spacing, excessive glue? Mando, you could use for body odor.😂🤣😁 Mando could lubricate gasket likeToyota does. But filter looks much better than the Wix. 👍
Mando oil filter media filters out 98.5 efficiency at 30 microns !
Thanks, Mark👍
