I enjoy these podcasts greatly, could you start titling them by the main topic eg: episode 5 - competition painting. As you get more episodes it will help others (and me) keep track of what they've listened to, what seems interesting and go back to refer to previous episodes.
Thanks guys, that was very interesting! I started moving my first steps in competition recently and your chat made me confident that my current mindset should be up for the task. I'm also curious to know how you deal with painting "slump periods" (if such things ever happened to you) and how is it possible to turn the hobby into your primary activity/job, as I guess you both did. I'm pretty sure the answers won't be that brief, maybe some future podcast topic?
It's definitely something we'll bring up in future. Slump periods happen to all of us and I think one of the best parts of the community is everybody pulling each other out of slumps. One of the tactics I use is ensuring I paint every day, no matter what. As for making the hobby a job. There are definitely people who've made it happen but it's not true for us. At the end of the day we're a small hobby and carving out a good commercial model is very hard.
