    Hello and welcome to another Bimmer Fixer video.
    In this video I will show you how to resolve the problem of the squeaking blower motor and fan. If you are getting a squeaking and screeching sound coming from the dash when the blower fan is on then in 99% of cases its just the fan motor running a little dry and needs a clean and lubricating. In this video I will show you how to remove the blower fan and show you how to clean and oil it.

      @Nick A Hi Nick, thank you for your comment its greatly appreciated. Yes I totally agree not worth the risk of that noise coming back. I think it was only because I didn't have time for a new one to arrive before a really long drive and I knew that noise would have driven me crazy so just oiled it instead. Thanks again Nick!

    My cabin AC/Heater is makes a ticking noise it speeds up when you increase or decrease the fan speed. It sounds like there's something catching the fan. I've blown some compressed air down the vents to see if it would dislodge anything, but it still persists. Do you reckon this method would also work in this case or could be something else? Perhaps it's the small fan on the back of the CCC unit?

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  Рік тому +1

      @davebeastly That sounds like something has worked its way down to the fan possibly from the intake under the hood. I've know for a single leaf to cause this. It might be worth having a look probably won't even have to remove the fan completely you should be able to see any obstructing in the fan. If you could get a vacuum hose in there too that could help you out especially if it's a leaf or small debris. Give the fan a little wiggle too just to make sure the bearings in the fan haven't started to fail. 👍🏻

      @@TheBimmerFixer When you removed it I wondered if maybe even one off those fins had come loose as you said it's quite brittle. Also wanted to ask as wasn't clear in the vid, Is it possible to run the blower with the CCC unit removed so it's possible to see and hear things better?

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  Рік тому +1

      @davebeastly quite possibly yes definitely worth checking also. You can run it you just need to connect wire connections back together just please be careful it's goes like food blender!

    My E60 just been dropped off this evening to my mechanic, I had the squeaking noise at very low fan speed, almost like a chirping noise. The last week Saturday the air pressure coming out of the fan was off, you could hear that it was struggling, then on Monday morning nothing at all, no heat no cold no AC coming out, turning the fan control on you can hear it doing its normal operation of opening the vents etc, but not a drop of air and no noise. I checked my fuses they all ok, so looks like it needs replacing. I have just gone 190k on my 525i, my luck the summer has started so I cant be driving about with the windows down and trying to cool down. Will get my car back tomorrow all done.

    Hello, some times after a few hours of driving there is no air coming out, summer and winter.The blower works but no air coming out.The next day is working normaly, that happens only on long trips.Any idea what could be? E61

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  3 місяці тому

      @FearOfGeorge Hi George, that sounds like the flaps that control the air flow from the blower are getting stuck. There could be a stretched cable somewhere or the gearing that controls the flaps is wearing out. Are there any vents that don't stop working? Or do you get no air from any vents?

    • @FearOfGeorge
      @FearOfGeorge 3 місяці тому

      @@TheBimmerFixer Thank You for your answer. I dont get any air at all. During summer e.g. it get hot inside. Any idea where are those flaps?

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  3 місяці тому

      @FearOfGeorge That must be horrible. The first set of flaps are just above the fan. There is a little motor that turns them, you can't quite see it in the video but it just above my hand. If you Google it there are some more detailed photos. I'm trying to think what else it could be.

    What about spraying oil into vent so it drags it into the motor, i know you will get a smell for a while, save a bit of time? But won't be as good i know.

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  Рік тому

      @Lock Monster Yeah I was also thinking this too. I was thinking of maybe attaching a small diameter hose to the straw on the oil can like WD40 and sending that down to the motor if. A blower motor noise is unique to any other noise in the vehicle. The sound is is only heard while the blower is on and is usually heard on low speed at first but can vary with fan speed too.
