People really shouldn't compare CoD to Battlefield... That's like comparing Forza to Mario Kart. One is made to be accurate and realistic, the other is made to be a quick spurt of fun. I'd say Battlefield doesn't actually have a contender for the spot that it's in, the closest I can think of would be a Halo game based sheerly on time-to-kill.
***** But you haven't played it... So why should I care about your opinion of something you haven't done? More importantly, realism is an empirical reality. There are actual things to judge realism on. As a shooter, I can outright tell you their firearms interactions and ballistics are total nonsense. Might as well be laser guns that go pew pew in rainbow colors and zig zags as far as realism.
***** "Realistic enough" means nothing to me. It's a metric of measurement that only applies to you, I don't care what applies to you. Realism isn't an opinion, it either is or is not. As it stands, it is not. It's one step above COD and several steps below RO2, Insurgency, and ARMA.
***** Simply put, no it isn't just "that way". I told you, it's an empirical reality. Unless you're going to give some numbers to demonstrate the realistic quality of BF, you've got nothing going for you.
I sniped with the sensitivity maxed out in BC2, almost maxed out in BF3 and at 90% in BF4 (PS3/PS4) and I'm happy with the results I get without any kontrolfreek crap. Just rely on yourself, not on some stupid add ons.
Great vid, very informative :) if you didn't say already, which game mode would you recommend for sniping? I find conquest too big and Team deathmatch too small so I do Rush. Good choice?
Actually when shooting from a steep angle of elevation or decline (looking up or down) the horizontal distance to the target (the part affected by gravity) is greatly reduced relative to the straight line distance to the target. Using simple right angle trigonometry, we can assume the straight line distance ( the distance the target appears through the scope) is the hypotenuse, and the distance we are looking for is the actual horizontal distance ( the distance from you to the target regardless of height ) in other words the adjacent side or the theoretical triangle. In order to find the horizontal distance to the target we must multiply the straight line range (hypotenuse) by the cosine of the angle of elevation or decline relative to the horizon (this number should be less than or equal to 1 yielding a product of multiplication less than or equal in range to the original straight line distance). Without compensating for this you will likely overshoot your target if the difference in angle is great enough. At least that's how things work in the real world. Despite being a long range shooting enthusiast I don't typically find myself sniping in battlefield too often, so I can speak to the physics in bf4. Also PC MASTER RACE!!!!!'
Great guide man, my only issue is the issue I have with a lot of recons and that is not living up to the name. An important trait of the class is to provide RECONnaissance, not just to snipe. Whenever I"m sniping I just mash the spot button in case I can't get the kill. At the very least it warns nearby teammates so they don't get killed by my target.
You cant get the same accuracy with a controler as if you were playing with a mouse and keyboard . Just accept it , i have played both . You still can do pretty well on the console but on the pc its just a over complicated point and click game .
Awesome ! thanks for this video, great tips about bullet drop when looking up or down. I never used to play sniper but played loads yesterday and am really getting into it. I agree with your tip about waiting for enemies in groups to separate and stop, it's all to easy to shoot the second you see someone. Two things I picked up that worked really well was having a good pistil like the magnum so you can go in really close to take bases and 2 shots will normally do them from close, also putting down those people scanner spike things that sit on the floor is good when capturing a base, it tells you where they are coming from or spawning. Lastly I like to have my side hidden by a rock or building and poke my head around, so choose a side that is safe, maybe a captured base and have that on my open side when move round the structure to reveal the area with enemies. Also not being afraid to run away and frequently change position, unless you've dropped to somewhere that people can't get to you then it's always good to move around as people will re-spawn, knowing where you are and try to get revenge.. thanks again, you are an awesome sniper.
If you play on hardcore, being a sniper is more fun, and a bit easier. The damage of bullets is increased, as i've seen in my experience anyway, and torso shots become more deadly at closer rangers. Plus hardcore is more realistic.
Ok I literally just spent 2 hours in one game and I got zero kills with the M40a5, I used to be a really good sniper in battlefield 3 then I got to this game and I can't hit shit, like when I look through the scope I see the bullet directly hit them in the head and nothing happens...I don't even get an assist if the die. And then I see yours and it looks like the bullet didn't even hit them and they die. It's so frustrating, I guess my bullets in battle field 4 stopped working...
I love sniping in Battlefield! It's like the funnest things to do. Not because I'm good (honestly, I suck at sniping) but because easy isn't always the funnest way to play. I love a challenge.
nice heli shot at the end i've done that 2 times in battle field 3 and once in 4 although i did a jet on caspian border for battle field 3 died lots of times before i got the chance to do it
Wow unknown, you are very good at ranged sniping! Some other thing to note are that when you press down on your D-pad, you can actually zero your rifle to a specific range (which can be found with the binos)
thanks for the video . I need some advice which sensitivity i should use playing as an aggressive recon on ps4. I set it on 75% at the beginning but now im trying out 80%.What would you recommend me?
They fixed the sniping in BF4, now the bullets do not drop as much. I think they did this because of the Naval Strike DLC coming out. From my knowledge the maps\map are\is huge so they had to compensate for the bullet drop, but great video man, thanks!
That was one of the better BF4 videos I've seen , definate subsriber :) I've played BF2 , BFBC2 , BF3 and 4 and Recon is exactly my cup of tea , so thank you Sir Unknown Player for a good five minutes spent.
What sensitivity and zoomsensitivity and options are you using? And do you play on Ps3. I play PS3 and recently i have had lag issues, its not network lag its more like inputlag and fps drops in game in open big areas and so. BTW make a video of the setings you have :D
Perhaps you know this, but a lot of people don't seem to know you can "hold your breath" to steady your shot for a limited period of time. On PS4 you do that by holding L3. I don't know about other platforms. Once you have held your breath too long you'll know, because then your aim gets very unstable. But it is a handy trick to know. Too bad I can't hit the broad side of a barn even with this trick heh
Dave Pawson Thanks. I did know that and i still can't hit anything either :). maybe the OP is holding his breath as soon as he ADS so the sway is not noticeable.
yes you can destroy vehicles as recon and yes you have to if you can for your team but its not your main job, the engineer actually needs to be more busy with vehicles because he doesn't have to risk his life and go close to the tanks and he can even take out choppers, btw thanks for the tips ;)
well said my friend im a hunter myself so very well said okay they bring back the C4 to the recon class sweet and still keep the other equipment from bf3
I wonder if the physics in game actually require you to aim HIGHER if you're aiming at a high angle. IRL the closer to vertical your bore is (up or down) the LESS hold over you need. If you think of it in terms of extremes, if you were aiming straight up or straight down, your bullet would stay in a trajectory parallel with the bore... so at high or low angles, the standard sight offset would actually mean you'd need to hold UNDER your target (assuming you're zeroed at 100/200 yds.
SRR-61 Intervention for long range, M98B is for moving targerts, CSLR4 is versatile for close- medium range. Best maps are flat open ones like golmund railway and Silk Road although siege of Shanghai is good for building to building sniping. Best levelling is using boosts and going for things like knife kills, head shots. Don't always knife only if it's one person and no one else is around. Also don't try to shoot slower for head shots but still aim precisely
Nah, its practically the same, the only thing different is bf4 has the zeroing distance on the snipers. You don't need to use it though, I don't. So, depending on how you'll use recon, it doesn't matter where you start.
Over the same distance the bullet will surely drop the same regardless of it being declined or inclined. Gravity is still acting in the Y axis all the same.
I don't use the PLD anymore. After sniping with the same gun for so long you will be able to judge how much you have to compensate for just because you know how the gun shoots. Even at longer distances if you have a range finder and a well trained eye you will get that first shot to hit. Just my two cents.
I used to think i was a pro sniper when i was sniping in COD then i tried bf4 and died so many times. lol
same here
brother, didnt we all?
i know that Feel :'(
mccranky2 ..
LoL in bf u have to aim really no no scoping. in COD u use 4 times scope but in bf 40 times scope
Ps dont use pld to spot enemies u can use mav
People really shouldn't compare CoD to Battlefield...

***** Why are you trying to start shit?
Mark Nutt You're joking right? Battlefield realistic? Meet me in Insurgency some time...
*****
But you haven't played it... So why should I care about your opinion of something you haven't done?

this was very helpful because I rarely use recon in battlefield
I sniped with the sensitivity maxed out in BC2, almost maxed out in BF3 and at 90% in BF4 (PS3/PS4) and I'm happy with the results I get without any kontrolfreek crap. Just rely on yourself, not on some stupid add ons.
I never had problems sniping, the zoom adjust just threw me off from BF3 hardcore. If it ain't broke...
BUT we all must agree that COD aint got nothing on BF snipeing >:D
Cod sucks for sniping lmfao, people only trickshot and quickscope like wtf?
XilesHD
Don't you love getting shot in the toe and getting insta killed mmmmmmm cod logic :D
Yeah :D
Agreed I dont play cod anymore battlefield is way better
Matthew Carlisle hey, the toe is most lethal shot throughout the who body.
That pilot kill! It was awessome!
You sir have just earned a subscriber
Thanks dude :)
+Johnny Flores +1
Nice fake account
Indeed,
+Dan940 That's not fake
does any of my fellow c4 users just turn into a suicide bomber once they see a vehicle? Its all i do in the game once vehicles are nearby
Yeah....
Yeah
Yeah
if they see me if not i get safe distance
Yeah, I snipe and when I see an atv or bike, I will drive into their sniping nest
Great vid, very informative :) if you didn't say already, which game mode would you recommend for sniping? I find conquest too big and Team deathmatch too small so I do Rush. Good choice?
Every single gamemode that you just mentioned I snipe on and drop about 20-30 kills each game, it's really just whatever you're comfortable with
Actually when shooting from a steep angle of elevation or decline (looking up or down) the horizontal distance to the target (the part affected by gravity) is greatly reduced relative to the straight line distance to the target. I do that also.
am i the only one who thinks it easier to snipe on pc than console? : /
Yes. Pc gamers have more accuracy with the mouse.
It is, aiming with a mouse is so much easier than a controller.
+Corn Star hell no it's not lol
You cant get the same accuracy with a controler as if you were playing with a mouse and keyboard . Just accept it , i have played both . You still can do pretty well on the console but on the pc its just a over complicated point and click game .
Yeah your right, I ones played bf 4 at the ps 4 and I didn't get kills with the sniper.
Awesome ! thanks for this video, great tips about bullet drop when looking up or down. I never used to play sniper but played loads yesterday and am really getting into it. Try medium range shooting
Your using one of the hardest rifles to use lol, it has a slow bullet velocity
***** I use it fine it's good in my opinion
I hate how the only way to get a one shot is a head shot like wow it should at least be a one shot in the chest to
it makes it too easy. anyone can take a sniper and hit someone in the chest
Anyone, I don't thinks so
It is easy but it should be that way
why?
It's just me realistic. And some people can't aim for the head like all people
I love sniping in Battlefield! It's like the funnest things to do. Not because I'm good (honestly, I suck at sniping) but because easy isn't always the funnest way to play. I love a challenge.
Thank you bro I appreciate your time in teaching us these details on how it should be done
I like how you snipe that helicopter down!! :D
Great video !
nice heli shot at the end i've done that 2 times in battle field 3 and once in 4 although i did a jet on caspian border for battle field 3 died lots of times before i got the chance to do it
NICE video 1st video I have seen from you and I will subscribe because its short and gets to the point well done
Wow unknown, you are very good at ranged sniping! Some other thing to note are that when you press down on your D-pad, you can actually zero your rifle to a specific range (which can be found with the binos)
Helicopter kill at the end awesome vid man thanks
thanks for the video .
I need some advice which sensitivity i should use playing as an aggressive recon on ps4. I set it on 75% at the beginning but now im trying out 80%.What would you recommend me?
Should of mentioned using the PLD's ability to range find and use that with zeroing to be more accurate
thanks man that helped a lot
Thanks man!! This is the first time I bought Battlefield instead of CoD
Julius Frijns same here now I snipe in BF decently and wreck some heads in helicopters and tanks
Great tips man, more battlefeild videos would be appreciated
Love your '"I Am The Best Attitude" you sir earned a subscriber forever

Liked! Subscribed! And shared!! Thank you for putting this out there! :D
I rly needed these tips. I had put them to use in a match and i did good.
BTW what was the sniper he's using? And any tips for the best sniper I'm currently now on the L119
That was one of the better BF4 videos I've seen , definate subsriber :)
I've played BF2 , BFBC2 , BF3 and 4 and Recon is exactly my cup of tea , so thank you Sir Unknown Player for a good five minutes spent.

THAT LAST SHOT THOO BRUH THAT EAS EPIC
Imma try these tips on hardline ty
Thank you soo much this helped me so much big thank you i subscribed
Your AMAZING at sniping.
This video helped me alot I just got the game today and I suck at sniping
What handgun would you recommend? I use the rex
what game mode do u recomend for sniping
I don't often go negative Snipers. But I respect it when i do. Sniping is just to much fun in this.
That was a nice video and a nice kill at the end
Great video, wish i could snipe like that. Can i ask why there is no scope sway? Are you using low powered scopes?
Perhaps you know this, but a lot of people don't seem to know you can "hold your breath" to steady your shot for a limited period of time. On PS4 you do that by holding L3. I don't know about other platforms. Once you have held your breath too long you'll know, because then your aim gets very unstable. But it is a handy trick to know. Wow this helpful! Thanks!
Epic shot at the end btw :D
Well put mate. I completely agree on those tips.
Although I noticed you don't spot enemies, which is a big deal imo :D
nice vid yo!
Cheers!
Such a good sniper great job bro
Nice tut and it helps a lot!
great tips. thank you. i´m trying to learn how to use sniper :)
That's a cool video bro :) keep up the good work

You sir, have earned a subscriber!
the bullets are also not hitscan (where they will hit the target instantly) so its best to think a second or 2 ahead
That was super amazing how you killed that helicopter pilot 0.0
Thanks for the tips
What a great video, helps a lot.
Thank you for the tips :)
well said my friend im a hunter myself so very well said
okay they bring back the C4 to the recon class sweet and still keep the other equipment from bf3
Thanks bro a lot better now
Thanks for the Tips. Does anyone know a good class setup for me? I've only unlocked the first three snipers so far and most equiptment
thxs man you got a subscriber
Is that the actual range for the CS-LR4? Cause I've noticed when I play it's the range isn't as far as yours
Thank you so much i am crazy good at sniping now
Mariela Vasquez what system you play on
Those kills at the intro
Super helpful!
its cool that the bullet drops, but it only drops in one line, you dont have to calculate the wind ( if it goes to the right or left )
What sensitivity do you have your pad set at Unknown.
I wonder if the physics in game actually require you to aim HIGHER if you're aiming at a high angle. IRL the closer to vertical your bore is (up or down) the LESS hold over you need. Yes but it is in meters not yards and I think it does I think that it makes seance
I'm a sped I know
more recon videos plz! top weapons, map guides , lvling tips

i know I'm new to this channel but I just have a question. how do I use the CS5 in battlefield 4?
The way you ended off sniping a guy out of a helicopter was way too badass
great guide
should I go to back to battlefield 3 to learn how to snipe?
Nah, its practically the same, the only thing different is bf4 has the zeroing distance on the snipers. You don't need to use it though, I don't. So, depending on how you'll use recon, it doesn't matter where you start.
Your tips are very helpful because im a sniper prooooooooo at that
I am already a decent sniper but you have made me 2 times better thanks
What sniper rifle do you use
So in short, patience is the key to sniping ? And also, you gotta aim at the heads ? You just earned a sub btw :)
Over the same distance the bullet will surely drop the same regardless of it being declined or inclined. Gravity is still acting in the Y axis all the same.
Do you play much on hardcore?
What would the best sniper in the game be I use the M40A5 because I just started leveling RECON.
SRR-61 or M98B
He is really good at that
Great! Cheers mate!
Thanks a lot :)
That helps a lot
I don't use the PLD anymore. After sniping with the same gun for so long you will be able to judge how much you have to compensate for just because you know how the gun shoots. its not about compensating.. its about spotting targets.
Do I need to buy anything extra to get it?
I know this was posted a year ago but damn nice vid explaining lol Subcribed!
How does your pld track heat signatures? Mine only tracks vehicles.
same
+Land3x Distance. You can't see infantry from I think 50+ meters.
Hardcore is where your skills are tested. Haven't played normal BF4 for a long time. Good video though :)
I find it next to near impossible to do with as soon as I get into position a guy with an PDW or shotgun kills me immediately
great video
Best Outro Ever
Well damn... you have gotten one more sub
Hi do you play on the PC?
you also have to consider that some of the people you shoot may be hurt already so a torso shot will do the trick.
The sensitivity might be what's wrong with mine. like I'll try to look at him but the controller goes to far. thanks for the tip
thanks who ever you are
