That's what it really means to have the willpower and means to accomplish what you really love in life. Using Google Maps/Earth to find a random crack on a random cliff to climb it, then take your car and equipment and actually make it to the top. Wow
6:25 I dont understand guys How can he just stick it in the crack and its secure? Wont it just fall out? Or is there a bolt in it already or something?
It's a cam. It's a protection device that you compress to stick in the crack. Then once it is in a secure placement you let it expand and the force of the expansion keeps it locked in
@@ReesNova it also wasn't a great placement but see how he had placed 3 of them in the last 10 feet. That gives him decent security that if one fails, he still has 2 more and all the other pieces before to hold his fall
Have you guys thought about the fact that this was a project before the ascent? Putting up a route takes more work than just sending it. For all you know he might have A0'd his way up to put up anchors before sending the route for the first time. And also the anchors aren't rusty, he's climbing god damn sandstone, there's obviously going to be some orange looking dust from drilling the bolts and the actual hangers grinding some of the rock off...
Probably NOT by rappelling in from the top. A lot of desert FAs are ground up, with hangs and aid climbing if need be to get to a good location to put the bolts. Hand drilling, putting the bolts in. Then working the route and getting a clean lead to the bolts another time.
Lucky moto! Happy man ! I'm Yann from France the Alpes (mountains) here we like a lot cross and trail ! But moto it's an object to go to § No xFoot because it's hard to climb I know ! When climbing soft desert sandstone, you tend to place pro more often. If the fall is too long the cams can crush the rock under their lobes and the piece will fail. That especially true with the small cams he is using.
Shame on this man for wearing his climbing helmet on his little dirt bike, but taking it off to take whippers on a thin sandstone splitter. My dad had a piece of gear pop, took a big whip, ended up in a coma, and his helmet was the only reason I got to exist today. We need better safety role models in climbing for sure.
Unkle Fritz well he'd climb it.. but with gear. i think most people get this weird idea that hes always crushing 14d without a rope.....which is totally not the case, 90% of the time hes climbing with a rope
pretentious guy. In his other video, Cracking Cobra also he was "looking" for the unique climbing experience. What's the issue with already set routes? If you reached the crack via your bike, how did your climbing partner reached there?
A lot of crack climbing is fairly similar. Finding unique cracks is hard to do. There are only so many that are already set. When all you do is climb and you've climbed what is available to you, you must look for more.
That's what it really means to have the willpower and means to accomplish what you really love in life. Using Google Maps/Earth to find a random crack on a random cliff to climb it, then take your car and equipment and actually make it to the top. Wow
How the fuck do you use Google earth to see a Crack ? I call bullshit
Nobody:
Eddie Bauer advertisement crew: let’s see how many different Eddie Bauer jackets we can possibly get him to wear in each different scene.
I am a Eddie bauer boy for year with Roots🤔🤢🤔🇨🇦🖤
4:08 Prospector boots and chocolate is eddie bauer..best desert boots 2009 in amazing condition still worth 300
Man, that leaning choss stack in the background starting around 6:00 is seriously spooky. Great jamming!
is that flake actually flexing when he steps his foot up or is that some weird digital camera artifact?
@@mikesegy I think the camera does a weird wobble frame thing from the refresh rate or something.
this is awesome, dirt biking and climbing in the desert, watching him kick that old bike over and over takes me back haha
This gets me stoked to explore and climb! Hope to see you out crushing again soon.
That is some extreme gnar right there!!
wish i loved my mother as much as this guy loves cracks
nice send, excellent video.
He left the girl standing in the middle of nowhere!! XD
camera guy: "He's such a jerk, let's walk back to my car."
nice looking mountains there
Mason Earle was a pleasure to watch in Cracking Cobra.
6:25 I dont understand guys
How can he just stick it in the crack and its secure?
Wont it just fall out?
Or is there a bolt in it already or something?
Just google how cams work

Were the anchors already in the wall?
No he's placing his own
There was two bolts tho
Im so scared he'll lose a finger in that split
Wow!!! All I can say is wow!!! F15 type of sick
was the anchor already placed at the top?
00:52 I have that blue tacoma too, 95 right? I like the tires you got on it, do you of road with it?
This must be the crack Jay-Z always talks about
My hands got sweaty watching this, that was pretty gnarly, I couldn't do that.
You weren’t using enough chalk
Looks like Shafer road, canyonlands
And out of thin air.... suddenly.... a magic top anker appeared!! *dum dum duummm*
And also out of thin air, a belayer! And then she was gone.
yea and a mildly rusty one, how can that be FA :D
Lol I don't think you guys understand how climbing works. An "anchor" at the top has no bearing on this being a first ascent.
Have you guys thought about the fact that this was a project before the ascent? Putting up a route takes more work than just sending it. Hi ! Good Job .I Like Those
How are the locks safe from putting them in the cracks?
friction....XD
They're cams. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climbing_protection
not safe.
Awesome!
Massive cool! Exploring your playground and still finding new lines!! Just curious, what rock shoes are you wearing in the film?
Five Ten Moccasym Synthetic maybe?
They look like the old Supermoccs, so they might be coming back.
He was wearing the TC Pros at the beginning of the climb. Awesome shoes
If it is unclimbed, who put the bolts in he was hanging from at the end of the video?
probably rappelled in from the top, or that wasn't his first time to the top in the video and just his first "send" instead
They were placed by the ancient Anasazi rappelling on hemp ropes. 420 bruh.
Don't let Jeff Sessions know
Rappelling in from the top obviously and drilling it in
Probably NOT by rappelling in from the top. A lot of desert FAs are ground up, with hangs and aid climbing if need be to get to a good location to put the bolts. Hand drilling, putting the bolts in. Then working the route and getting a clean lead to the bolts another time.
Any Scare it's food life you can do Inception ?
Awesome!!
if that was a random crack, who put carabiners and bolts at the end?
I think they got up top first and then rappelled down to find holds and assess the route
You can also aid climb up the crack - hang and pull up off your gear etc.
Can anyone tell me what song is in the background? From around 4 mins.
Thanks if anyone can!
Did you ever find out?
yeah I need that plsssssssss
Sadly not man I keep checking here!@@aidannyman7871
It sounds like a Tycho mix to me, but I couldn't find which song. Sorry
Not sure, but if you want something similar then go listen to the 'Untrue' by Burial.
Climbing starts around 4:39.
Seems like you kind of missed the point of the video...
big up yourself
The whole video is awesome. That climb is all about context. So shallow.
Got a former caver buddy who transitioned to this lifestyle except in Kentucky.
rad vid!
Just WOW
Good driving skills, poor motorcycle! Lol
rubber shoe slipped on the wall when climbing?
That's why I subscribed !!
This guy can't load or strap this minibike down. Wtf is going on
i think they staged it tbh
Sometimes people make mistakes. It's whatever
awesome
Ребята молодцы увожуха!!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOO! I LOVE CRACK!
*sees a crack*
heii imma climb that
looks painful
it was obvious, that tt was not fixed properly.
i think they staged the crash of the bike

At least your not living in a van down by the river

great vid but could acknowledge your belayer in the vid, wasn't like you did the whole thing on your own and couldn't have done it without them.
...the video is about him...not his helpers......go be a sjw somewhere else XD
Crack

'Has an amazing crack to place pro in' 'Places bolts' - Arseholes
Eh, ethics is different everywhere. Do that in Scotland and you'd be beaten to death with a blue hex, but it might be the norm here..
I cant stand this guy lmao
architecture? Try New York.
maybe if he didn't stop and put gear in every 2 meters he might have done it quicker
how long a climb takes you wont matter when you take a fall with 10+ feet of runout
This dude is the anti-Alex Honnold.
How?
cause he sets friends like every few inches ;) while honnold sometimes climbs without any safety gear.
alex climbs much easier routes without gear lmao
this wouldn't be climbed without gear. alex wouldn't climb this.......
Unkle Fritz well he'd climb it.. but with gear. i think most people get this weird idea that hes always crushing 14d without a rope.....which is totally not the case, 90% of the time hes climbing with a rope
He's no Honnold.
ih8tusernam3s neither is anybody else
...and Honnold is no Budddha. So many people on here comparing everyone to Honnold. That shows a lack of imagination or kindness.
Budda is not the KING of king's and LORD of Lord's.
Seek Christ Jesus your Redeemer
@@Soli_Deo_Gloria_. but Honnold is King of Mountains 🤔
when you wish you were Alex Honnold, try to be as cool as Alex, convince a sponsor like EB you might be one day but just aren’t.
Indeed!!
