    EXC150 35h failed CCPS and seized, Dealer says run out of oil then wrong oil. Replaced piston and bike runs like crap using all of the fuel, swap sensors and bike runs mint again so I put a new piston in and the CCPS fails again and it seizes again. New piston again and glued sensors and it seems to be going good, but now the crank main bearings need replacing after having no oil. I can feel the vibration from them. Spent more on this bike in 100h than I did on my 2012 EXC300 in 600hrs and it's only gone properly for 10 of those hours.
    Always buy a rotary that needs rebuilding because it's going to need rebuilding anyway :)

      Exactly kid is an idiot, because he got a lemon or decides to go to the dealership to fix it for you. This kid is a fake and a fraud.

    It is not just your imagination. I bought 2 different 2019 TE 300i bikes and rode them extensively. The first one is still running strong with the original top end and oil pump at over 400 hours ( sold to a friend). The second bike began running poorly at 110 hours. I replaced the CCPS and that helped, but then it seized at 125 hrs. Of interest is that the seizure was on the intake ( cold) side of the piston. Like you, I tired of the drama, and bought a 2021 KTM 500 XCF W. It weighs the same as the TE 300 i but makes more torque and power. These motors last 700 hours before requiring a new top end. Something to consider.

    TPI is great. the newest bikes are spot on and dialed in perfect. 2021 TPI cant be beat. not sure what you did to yours to F it up haha, seriously though the vast majority of tpi bikes are just fine, only a minority had issues and in 2021 even less...

      I recommend you go take a look at some of the comments on my last video as well as any of the TPI Facebook groups. Plenty of people have gone through far worse than I have.

      @@SUPERMOTIVE the internet is a place where the 1% with problems come and congregate. Def not a valid method to gauge the success or failures of the TPI bikes. For every 10 people on the internet with problem there is a 1,000 out there with no problems. And 9 out of the 10 was user error and caused they’re own issues and 1 out of 10 actually had issues. In 2021 model year that number is now even lower. The newest bikes run really really really great.

      That's sweet! The 440 has been doing excellent for me so far, I plan on uploading a video on it soon. Super fulfilling going from CAD model to actual component in your hand.

    I have a TPI supermoto like the guy in this video, no problems at all with power delivery so far, however, over the last couple of rides the exhaust note has changed and makes a terrible metallic sound. Any idea what that could be? Bike has very low hours and I ride it carefully

      Probably a bad CCPS. Check out my other video on how to fix a faulty CCPS

    I dont know what americans doing wrong xD. I always hear that ktm break all the time in america. Here in austria we have no issues with excs on the streets. My 500 has 320hours on the first engine with no problems. Maybe u riding wrong or u use cookingoil for your engines

      I’ll be honest I’m from America but I hear that it because overseas people don’t like to engine break so there bikes last longer

      This is my favorite comment I’ve gotten on any of my videos, I had a good laugh. The thought did cross my mind! Fingers crossed it stays in one piece so I can sell it and get back on a bike

    Why not rip off the oil injection and just mix gas? I really don't see what the big deal with mixing gas is.

    Slowly I understand why KTM's reputation in the US is so bad. I live in Austria and never heard of any of these Problems, I own a KTM myself and I dont have these Problems whatsoever. Idk what thay do with the US bikes but they are not the same over here xD The EXC bikes are the best money can buy here.

      It’s very hit or miss here, unfortunately a lot of it is due to dealers not knowing how to diagnose simple issues that become more serious over time. The four strokes here are issue free, TPI just has a shaky reputation. KTM/Husqvarna will always be my go-to brand regardless

  • @SkylarRace
    @SkylarRace 2 роки тому +1

    99% of TPI bikes go hundreds of hours with no major issues. The 1% with issues go straight to the Internet forums and Facebook groups. These bikes are meant for hard enduro not street bikes.

      @aries300x 2 роки тому +2

      Exactly. I have a erzbergrodeo that has been flawless and my sons 21 300 has been flawless. As well as countless others I know. Its always the 1% who cry the loudest! Then bitches about ktm and goes to buy a wankel 🤣🤣

    • @HyperSculptor
      @HyperSculptor 2 роки тому

      Isn't hard enduro much more straining to an engine though? The root of the issues might be the hard enduro crowd taking appropriate care, as opposed to street bikers not following maintenance schedules etc... I once sold a nice road racing twin cylinder that I converted back to street bike, the guy broke the engine soon after. Cause he forgot to check and add oil... Brand new bikes are expensive but I will never buy a second hand bike.

    TPIs are good the best you can get now but only up from 2021 so the 2021,22 modells are very good the bests. Dont buy tpi from 2017-2020 becuase they just sell the exact same bike from 2017-2020 and they have a tons of problem becuase this is a new manufacture injector 2strokes .From 2021 tpis are amazing they dont have problems at all if you maintence them like they need. TPI s have lower power in the start then the carburators one but this actually help to get more traction. But some people blew them up because the bike run without oil because the oil injector and the fuel injector has a little filter wich is cost like 2-3 euro and you need to change it in every 5 hours if you dont want to blew the up But the owners manuel doesnt say you need to change it but if you pull out the pump check the filter you see its dirty and filler up and the oil doesnt go thru in it.

      I guess im lucky af :) got a 2020 Te 300i, Im absolutely shredding the living shit out of it(red spring). No issues at all with it, I have like 110 hours on it, Ive done exactly what the instruction manual said about breaking it in, letting it warm up etc.
      Not even oil in the fuel tank. yolo i guess.

    Maybe if you gave us real data showing the actual percentage of failures compared to several people on You Tube that have had problems it would be of value. Anecdotal data is emotion based and should not be used in making any kind of decision.

    Always put some oil in the fuel. Like they run super lean and that is fine for sunday riding. But having about 1% oil in the fuel (fully synthetic) really saves these bikes and i know guys who ran 200h+ on the same piston.
